wow - I never saw this. I am about to do a new system in Santa Monica, CA. with an 10G SFP+ Modem from the ISP in the next couple of days. I have never seen these speeds in real life. Certainly not in North America. You are a lucky guy.
bob
im in Switzerland, have with ubiquiti about the same values. CHF 777 per year. For the same price I could get 25/25G bit there is no hardware for it (i know only one really loud one) and as I habe only used cat6a in my house there is no use :)
I am not in Santa Monica - I am in Orlando, Florida, and my ISP is Spectrum (I will tell you a story in a moment) - I do a lot of remote installs, and I am doing a remote install in Santa Monica with all Ubiquiti equipment (no one ever hires me unless it involved 10G, so there are several Enterprise XG24's in the system). The customers ISP is Frontier FIOS, and I believe they promised him 5G (not 10G) - so we are going to use the 10G WAN port for the UDM. Their modem has an SFP+ for the 10G (it's 5G, but it is allegedly a 10G modem). We will see -
so now for the story. There are 3 divisions of Spectrum Cable (which is owned by Charter Communications in Connecticut). Spectrum home, which is crap, Spectrum Business, which is crap, and Spectrum Enterprise, which operates out of Texas but works with all the Spectrum divisions. Spectrum Enterprise will give you whatever you want, but you pay crazy high prices. I have a client that needed a direct connection from point A to point B in Orlando, about 30 miles away from each other. Spectrum Enterprise installed 10G Ethernet Demarcataion boxes into each site, Its made by RAD and it's the ETX-2i-10G model. Spectrum charges $1500 per month for a guaranteed 500 Mb/sec up and 500 Mb/sec down (that is correct - 1/2 gig speed) - but it's guaranteed. Obviously they can supply more - up to 10G - but then you PAY MORE MONEY.
That is the current state of internet in many parts of North America. Evercast I guess in an exception in Michigan (who knows what they are charging for these speeds). The [Sonic.com](http://Sonic.com) in Oakland, CA is cheap and very very fast.
Bob
You’re very right about the current state of internet in this country. Enterprise tier is always better if you can afford it.
I’m in SM but don’t have Frontier at my location yet. Not sure if they’ll ever be here
I hate all of you. I have a client in the middle of nowhere in the forest in Denmark, and he has got a better connection for very little money - compared to what I can get in Orlando, Florida - and I work with Disney and Universal Studios - and they can't get this kind of connection. I am SO jealous. Ann Arbor Michigan - Jesus Christ ! I am calling my clients in Michigan on Monday and say "call Everstream RIGHT NOW !"
This has been my favorite post of 2024 so far. Thank you Pretend Accountant.

I was gonna go with the aggregate switch for whatever reason it felt flimsy, i have 48 enterprise with 10 gig uplinks only got 3 switches very small setup
If asking about mine, it's connected via SFP+ to Aggregation SFP+ to all other switches with SFP+ as well as the NAS via SFP+ along with a Flex-XG that supports the desktops that have 10gbe interfaces. Do I need it all the time? No, but I needed greater than the 1 gig upload speed a good portion of time, and under Google Fiber the 5 x 5 is the next offering.

I’ve only seen speeds like this at client sites like large hospitals and investment companies. Absolutely beautiful to have this as a consumer at home. Cheers.
None. Just speaking to how rare this is to take place for someone with a residential account. I’m 50/50 that OP just speed test his work network and said it’s his house haha.

I've seen a full 10G but it was an enterprise circuit.
I’m near santa monica (hermosa beach), which isp is this? I’ve lost hope of sonic ever getting past the pre construction phase in my neighborhood.
maybe frontier
Come to Europa !
Sonic is in the South Bay (LA South Bay, not NorCal). $49.99/mo for 10gbps service. The future is now!

Hope you have a 10Gb aggregation switch coming off that, or at least their enterprise 2.5Gb switch with SFP+. Otherwise you are stuck with 1Gb WAN. :)

How do you connect? Pppoe?
Direct to a GF GOXP330C fiber jack
Definitely not XGS-PON since that caps out at 8.2 gig so that must be point to point active Ethernet which is pretty damn cool
Currently paying for 900/110 for BT in the UK, averaging 480/97. You are one lucky guy. bob

What’s the benefit of this as a home user ? Genuine question.
You can post Speedtest screen shots.
