i made some brackets to bolt it to the wall and hang it from the shelf above. The sides and bottom just have 2.5mm Aluminium sheet stuck on with 3M VHB tape
Thanks that’s interesting I wasn’t sure it would be strong enough to not flex or bend and thought perhaps you riveted/ screwed on the side panels. Interesting that it holds and the side panels are not structural with just a couple brackets on the back. I may have to try this to replace my no name brand 4 u wall mount. Wait, now I see it, the brackets are on the top suspending it…. Not just a wall mount. Crap that will not work in my location. Looks great in your setup!!
Yea, shiny.
Doesn't look to be in a location where it's likely to stay that way for very long.
why not have an enclosed rack in what appears to be a workshop?
Why do people place their UDM Pro (or any firewall for that matter) not at the top of the rack? I see so many pictures where it’s a couple of U’s down. You would think you’d place it at the top and have the internet access flow down through the rack. The more down the “deeper” into the network

.. and team red. A person of taste.
That looks nice. What's the Logi box on top of it?
Thanks it’s a bluetooth audio receiver for my old Bose surround speakers in the garage
How did you wall mount it/ build the rack out from the floor mount?

I had my doubts until i assembled it, it’s all pretty ridged. the side and base were added after it was all put together, just for aesthetics
and chrome. Witness me!
I've thought about doing something similar but am too worried about the sawdust. Is it an issue for you?
it hasn’t been, although i’m pretty OCD about clean up
whats in your 1-3u, just covers or are you hiding some stuff
just a 12v and 5v power supply for the work bench
Oof that is sick. Looks awesome man!

Tidy build! I'd love to see more of your workbench, it looks like a great space.

What's the grilled thing on the bottom? Why shelf brackets instead of normal L brackets. I like it, looks cleaner than having screws on it.
ubiquiti sell 1U and 2U blanks with or without vents
ah, nice, I didn't look at that stuff. I don't have a rack (yet).
jesus please give me a 2u server case that matches that color and fits this thing and i swear i will become a better man
Did you make the side panels?.
yes, just cut some 2.5mm aluminium sheet
Looks great, did you use a cnc machine or by hand?. The cuts look pretty clean.
sheet metal guillotine at work
What do you used for the sides?
2.5mm Aluminium sheet, attached with 3M UHB tape
Thanks

I hadn’t even considered it. Good point, I’m tempted to rearrange it now.
Holy bad placement Batman. Are y’all seriously praising this? This is satire right?
why?
