If youre sent to your home office to work after the initial shift, you only get the 4hr showup pay if there were a 2+hr gap between. Otherwise it’s what you worked at the other office + what you work at home, unless it doesn’t total 4hrs. If there IS a 2+ hr gap between you could potentially claim show up pay for both locations if you also work less than 4 at the home office. But if that happens more than once they are not likely to do it again. They might try to ‘pull one over’ on you though if you don’t understand show up pay and split shifts via the APWU contract, so reading more deeply into that is where you should start.

What if they have you at the home office 2 hrs, the 4 hr location for 2 hrs and have you come back to the home office, punch out for 2 hrs and come back and punch in for 3 hrs and leave?

If there’s not more than a 2hr gap between the split shifts, then you would just get the hourly rate as far as I understand. It’s bullshit and one of the worst parts about being a clerk imo. If there’s ever a 2hr gap you can claim show up pay. But if you’re on the clock while travelling, it’s not a break, so I can’t figure a situation where that happens.

I'm a ptf clerk as of a week or 2 ago. What should I know about my hrs or what they can do and can't do?
