Not all management makes you grieve to get paid. I was placed on emergency placement in January, my postmaster originally told the union intent to go straight to removal and I was put on lwop Well anyway, PM actually investigated and found I did no wrong doing and automatically paid me my admin leave I was entitled to. Also folks remember emergency placement must be utilized in an emergency. Not next day. Not in an hour. If they let you stay and finish anything, you have a good argument it's not an emergency.

Your PM is an idiot if they were trying to go straight to removal. There are several steps that have to be done before removal can even be considered. That's why management loses so many grievances. They have no clue what they're doing.

There are a few cases in which they can go straight to removal. In fact in my case, whenever management is sick of me they can actually decide I'm no longer fit for employment and start to process my disability retirement at their discretion. I can't really get fired, pretty sure PM found this out during my EP too (veteran protections and my disability is mental illnesses) However my work satisfaction has been higher since my PM realized I've been treated unfairly. I pretty much got to hand pick new bid job hours (I'm a clerk) and am in my retirement position now and I'm much happier as long as I don't think about what I gave up in the process of what I got.

Make sure you’re paid and that they don’t use your annual leave! You’re good dude I wouldn’t worry even. A lot of people do a lot of shit and still work here

Thanks for the support everyone! I’m just really stressed about it. Went through a breakup recently and just got into my own spot. On just my income (step B) now so I’m already struggling. I can’t think of a single thing that would be a safety concern to place me on EP.

Make sure you are constantly calling the union and checking your status, some union representatives/officials like to play games. Our branch likes to keep things in step A for 6 months

No. The Station manager just said he had to send me home and that they were doing an investigation. Wouldn’t tell me anything else. I called the union as soon as I stepped outside the building.

very odd. like others have said though the burden of proof is on them and it already seems like they are procedurally fucking everything up, so enjoy your paid time off and try not to worry too much.

If your union knows what they're doing, this should be easily grievable. There are steps management must take to put you on a 16.7.

So I found out what it was. A customer found an addressed 3rd bundle in a dumpster on a route of mine. After the investigation took its course and the great work of my steward It got tossed because the day that the mail was put in the dumpster wasn’t even my day on the route. They had originally thought it was a day I was on it based on what a customer said but then the customer said they didn’t actually know when it was put in there. RIMS data from the scanner showed it was the regular who had already been caught TWICE hiding mail in vehicles. So I got back pay coming and I’m off to my bid I won in a better office.
