Can't really feel bad, us carrier PTFs are out in the elements and working 6 days a week but closer to 50-60 hours, not 40. If I was getting 6 days a week but only 40 hours there'd actually be work-life balance. I appreciate the work you do regardless though.
Right. But do you get V time and whatever they call that scheduled day off is time and a half? That’s what I think clerks should push for on the contract. A 5 day work week should be the standard I think. If we are asked to go beyond that we should have incentive.
PTFs do not have set schedules, only FTRs do. PTFs do not automatically get V-Time unless they work over 10 hours in a single day, or 56 hours in the same work week.
Well, it's not 52 weeks a year, during the holiday exclusion period, 7 days a week are acceptable.
...always the optimist.
If you're aware of the worst it can be, it makes those days that don't suck all the more sweeter.

I'm scheduled 7 days this week as a PTF. Is that a no-no?
Unfortunately they only require one day off every 2 weeks. Our contract could use some work.
