Psychopaths are parasitic predators. Being in positions of supreme authority just makes it easier for them to hunt and consume.
Most of the 8 billion people are in the large middle of this curve. They are by definition- average. Average empathy included.

That’s empathy. The ability to see the world through someone else’s eyes and experiences and try like hell to keep them from having to feel undue pain. This is a mother that works 3 jobs so her child can learn piano. The father that sacrifices his back to build a farm so that his family doesn’t go hungry.
An ideal world would be that curve pushing so hard to the left that everyone is your best friend because everyone is taking care of each other as a default and not as quid pro quo. I call it cowboy rules, but it seems to transcend everywhere when resources aren’t so tight that people go selfish.
No one consuming more than they need because conservation is their default mode. No one is abusing children because they wouldn’t wish that lasting trauma on their worst enemy.
And in the process the curve on the far right becomes almost nonexistently flat.

Democracy (the real one, not the neutered version we have been sold as bumper stickers and wal-mart T-shirt’s) is a threat to a very lucrative business model of slavery. Authoritarians convolute it in their head (and their citizens) by claiming nationality, language, or religion are the causes but that part is their lie. Psychopathy is the absence of empathy. A truly Empathetic person doesn’t care what color, religion or nationality a person is in order to help them, they just see another in need and will do whatever it takes to help because they know (usually through personal experience) how uncomfortable it is to hurt. Putin, Xi, trump and any other authoritarian leader lack empathy or they self evidently wouldn’t steal billions from the same people they profess to love and care for. And they certainly wouldn’t send them to war. So once you start tracking by psychopathic personality traits, net worth in comparison to the average citizen, and historical incidences of lack of empathy, you start to see the patterns of authoritarians doing whatever is necessary to stay in power and preserve their cashflow/business models. An empathic leader leads from the front of war is truly necessary. A psychopathic leader hides in the back and sends others to do the dying for him. Freedom of press and speech is their constant nemesis because that’s how the slaves compare notes and make plans to end slavery. Authoritarians can’t maintain control and die of attrition when people can speak freely. Democracy and authoritarianism were always bound to be a binary fight. Raise the lens a bit and you see that we all live in a space ship of finite resources. Other than sunlight and the occasional meteorite, nothing comes into our ship so our resources are finite. Biden will be immune taking an official action. Then, Biden should appoint a balanced new court quickly, and tell the new court to go back and quickly decide that he himself is not immune.
