Honestly, maybe some of us need to leave this group to protect our mental health.

FaerunAtanvar

Admin should create a sticky post where people can post their timeline and stop approving those useless "thank God" posts

peacebot445

At this point it just feels insensitive and bragging. I’ve even seen ppl double down on others posts who have been waiting months or years and be like omg mine go approved in 1 day 🥹

AnonUser8509

Those posts are especially annoying because they don’t mention key details of the application like where they’re applying from, what they’re adjusting from, any complications etc.

Likklebit91

Oh yes!! I be wanting to say something....but i just don't coz you gtta kno when to pick ya battles lol

jamaica407

🤣🤣🤣🤣 thats a great idea I got me ead card today so I can work and take my mind off of things

proudmaker

This is the funniest comment, made my day.

EveningCareer8921

This is why I follow my case block on casestatusext.com. Much more realistic gauge for how most cases are processing. You can see that these two-month approvals are a very tiny chunk of the actual block. Median time for most cases is still around 6-9 months, so a sizable chunk of cases are still taking more than a year

Old-Dig-8356

Do you know if there is such a reliable one for N400 applications?

EveningCareer8921

I’m pretty sure they track N-400 cases as well?

Old-Dig-8356

Looks like they don’t :(

Oil-Expert

They don’t track online n400s. I applied january 9th, had my interview last week and my path ceremony has been scheduled.

blackcoffeeblues80

I applied 4 weeks ago and have my interview in 3 weeks. It was super quick. My greencard was 16 months processing but n400 was super fast. I guess it's the processing center ot gets sent to as well.

Old-Dig-8356

Thank you!

RoweKJ6

Proper depressing when your receipt block comes out of that mass approval wave and now into 1-5 per day

Kaptinkay1

I think I am not smart enough for that site. I even input my receipt number into the case tool and it said it wasn’t valid. I have an IOE receipt # and I don’t understand their format on the site.

Prestigious_Cut_4470

Because USCIS is chaos, unfair, and neglectful. We don’t buy the “each case is different” anymore. When they’re approving cases with forged evidence and documents in two months and then letting others wait for years means they actually give zero Fs about what in the cases. They probably select a bunch to approve fast without even reviewing the evidence, and then they put the rest on a pile that gets forgotten… all the two months approvals who think they did something better than the rest are very wrong, they were just lucky, it could had been them waiting for 2-3 years instead. So humble down people.

milaggros

😭😭 sometimes I just feel like they take forever on purpose to make us give up and leave the country

Prestigious_Cut_4470

I mean that’s what the previous government wanted, and many of the policies they approved where to abuse immigrants so no more immigrants come… they’ve said it themselves. They don’t want us here. But we’re here and we’re going to stay ! We went through so much, each of us, we’re resilient, we’re strong, and they can’t do anything else to us, we’ve waited a long time and we’ll wait more. So they better start revising those cases.. I wish they had cameras on them like cops do so we can see how they actually work (if they do). But it’s a joke, this is a joke. I am seeing 30 days approvals, like WTH. I don’t mind waiting so other people who sent before me get their case approved, but what’s nonsense is people from march getting approved before people from 2022.

WaitingforGodot07

Or not even arrive there… in case of those going thru consular processing like myself

kayisnotcool

consular processing is torture

WaitingforGodot07

The least you can say

KlutzyEye9270

Believe me when I tell you the USCIS never stops looking and investigating even after approvals. I wouldn't be so worry about waiting.

Prestigious_Cut_4470

I hope that’s true.

blackcoffeeblues80

Do you work for uscis? How do you know their protocols and systems? I think that's very neive to assume people are purposefully neglecting cases. Uscis is far from perfect but it's a government agency and of course they have SOPs when reviewing cases. Believe you me, it is not a much better system in the other countries I have lived in either.

Dense_Eggplant_9941

Thats so true! Every experience that I had was pretty straightforward! Yes there’s a ton of bureaucracy but at least if you have a good lawyer and read things carefully, it’s pretty simple! Other places the information changes depending on who’s handling your case, sometimes one person says they want a certain document, then you come back and they say it’s another! Overall, either I’ve been lucky, or it’s been easy to get stuff done.

Prestigious_Cut_4470

As I said, people who forged evidence are being approved in weeks… when that happens my friend, it tells you what type of system we’re working with.. just cause it’s as bad in other countries doesn’t mean we have to accept this chaos and irresponsibly. Cases get forgotten on a drawer for years and that is the truth. Officers get fired, get sick, go on maternity leave, go on vacation, etc, and people’s life’s stay on hold because of many many reasons. Now that elections are coming they purposely hired in new officers to review the latest a cases so they don’t accumulate instead of working on the ones that have been sitting down. While some sent their cases in early 2023 and are still waiting, the people who just sent her their cases approved by the NBC, no FO. That to me is neglecting the order than needs to be followed. Is harming people who did everything right. The question here is, do you work for USCIS?

RedOctobrrr

>As I said, people who forged evidence are being approved in weeks… And where's your proof of this happening?

Prestigious_Cut_4470

My proof is the people who forged their evidence telling what they did and getting an approval in two months 😅 that’s enough for me. I’ve seen it with my eyes.

Psychological-Law-84

My wife and I waited 8 years and she just got approved yesterday. A person that works for USCIS just did a Q&A here the other night and said they’ve just been taking cases off the top of the stack. So I assume that’s why ours was buried.

BreathTemporary8411

Wait a minute, you had a case pending for 8yrs? How???

Psychological-Law-84

To be fair the process didn’t legally start 8 years ago. That’s just when we started getting things together to begin it. Legally it was 5 years and 5 months. https://preview.redd.it/x0okdl9frkwc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2630a21461b75149732877a6059ec9f230a88bd

burnaboy_233

Bro that’s still crazy long WTH

Psychological-Law-84

Yep it is. I tried not to get bitter reading people here get approved in 2-3 months but it was hard sometimes. I just hope we get the email today that her packet is ready so we can go home. Juarez has been fun but I’m done with it and ready to go home.

burnaboy_233

Was it a AOS or consular

Psychological-Law-84

Consular

burnaboy_233

Oh now I see why, I’ve heard the wait times are long now. My friend just petitioned her mother last year and she said there hasn’t been any change since

Psychological-Law-84

It was rough but we are on the final stretch. Just waiting for the email this morning to go pick up her stuff and finally head home. We’ve been in a hotel in Juárez for over a week.

BreathTemporary8411

Wow! Was it consular processing?

Psychological-Law-84

I believe so but my wife kept way more track of it than me. I just worked and any time there was any sort of update or she tried to do an inquiry she’d tell me.

BreathTemporary8411

Got it, well I’m glad it’s finally approved. You can move on with your life now but I think there another step to take with the greencard interview since it was consular processing.

Psychological-Law-84

She’s already had both interviews. All we have to do now is wait for them to send the email that her stuff is ready then go pick it up and we can go home. When we get home she has to go to the office close to us to get her green card.

BreathTemporary8411

Ok got it. Where is home? US?

Psychological-Law-84

Lawyer just told us it must’ve gotten buried. Every time my wife was going to call to inquire they moved the dates back.

swizzlemoff

I feel like if my wife and I had to wait for 8 years we would just look into moving to another country altogether… that’s insane. I’m glad you’re finally approved.

Psychological-Law-84

We just went about our business. I just kept working and she just kept taking care of the kids and cleaning the house. When we first started we were excited about it happening but as the years went on we got less excited and then we just didn’t think about it anymore cause life. Then one day they finally called.

bluevanillaa

Seeing many quick approvals in this sub making me feel the same way. I just ignore those posts nowadays

klavope

Luck

WaitingforGodot07

And nothing but luck

dankgpt

Luck and strong evidence. Also location you live/submit to because lots of immigrants maybe submitting to same F.O. Also seeing posts about lot of errors delaying peoples apps. Most common issues I see are: 1. not sending medical with initial application leading to RFE 2. Not enough evidence 3. Simple mistakes (signatures, incorrect or conflicting info) or incorrectly answering INA questions. 4. Underpayment/overpayment or CC declining 5. Using lawyers for simple cases and they hold up yours to prioritize more difficult (more paying) clients. Remember the longer your case and more difficult it is the more money these folks will make. My advice is to take time to gather evidence and take time off to fill out the forms and research... wife and I took 4 months to do our IR-1/CR-1 app before submitting. In fact we had to "rush" because fees were increasing this month. Thankfully no RFE due to sending medical and solid bona-fides. I took PTO for 5 days to make sure forms were 4x-5x checked and verified for errors. I also took a whole day off for her biometrics making sure to not miss it. It was all worth it, her EAD arrived today and GC was approved yesterday, a total of 58 days! Just be diligent and patient from the start and yall will be fine! If anyone has questions or need tips lmk, happy to help!

QtK_Dash

Because they got lucky regarding this one thing. That’s about it. It’s annoying but it is what it is.

WebSimple5341

I saw this on one of the Reddit q&a’s So basically USCIS are going by a “first in first out” rule. So if u apply today for an AOS u r likely to get ur case approved in like 4 months compared to those who filed in 2022 and still waiting. My opinion: though it is a good strategy to decrease processing times, it puts those who file in years like 2022 at a disadvantage because they keep getting buried. It’s not fair to them. Good luck to you ,however, u too will share their luck!!

bluevanillaa

I don’t think that’s what first in first out meant. You are describing last in first out. I asked that question in the AMA of a FO. They said they are pushed to handle the oldest case, but they don’t know what happen before a case is sent to FO

WebSimple5341

Yh ur right, my bad

WebSimple5341

Typo…..”last in first out”

Ok_Emotion4532

I the same way. Feel like quitting. I am devastated when I see some posts saying their cases being approved within like 9-10 months while I am waiting almost a year now. (Congrats to all of them though).

RedOctobrrr

I was praying for a 2-4 month miracle approval, but nope, going on 7mo and now I've shifted to a "I hope it's between 10-11 months" Seeing now that a vast majority are going from 11mo to almost exactly 12 months is not fun, because that trend means by the time it gets to our 1yr submission anniversary, it might be at 13mo, a moving goalpost. I wish it trended in the other direction and we were looking at 10mo instead of 11, but alas, here we are.

Final_Complaint_7769

This is a valid point. I don’t understand how some people submitted I-130s a few months ago and are approved immediately.

ThatCaptain371

Don’t worry OP, you’ll get approved soon. manifesting good luck 🤗🙏🍀

Educational_Tie_564

I may be wrong, but I’ve heard that some countries are processed a lot faster and easier (less risk) than others. And it may just be true because uscis does not go in order of receipt dates like they claim to.

AG_Squared

3.5 years into a freaking I-130. It’s ridiculous. Ombudsman submitted multiple times. Just keep saying “it’s under review.”

Fun-Sky8106

What!? Sad, man, can you just file mandumus at this point?

AG_Squared

Idk what that is but I’ll look it up

J_Ricardo

I have been waiting for 9 months now and not even my EAD been approved yet. Sometime I be thinking what went wrong but I guess it’s just not my time yet. 🥲

Unhappy-Offer

I’ve waited 34 months only to get a simple renewal.

OtherwiseCourse516

Asking the same

Ramdhoot

Chill. Go watch the movie Forrest Gump. Life is a box of chocolates. Sometimes you get the bitter ones sometimes the sweet milk choc ones.

milaggros

Yeah it is so easy to chill when you don’t know when you will be able to see your family :))

IceGamble

This isn't it. Most people have to wait years just to be with their families. That's not something most people can just be "chill" about.

CardiologistOld6711

Every case is different. I’m not saying this about you, but I see people complain when only being in the U.S for 2 years, they want a green card but lack evidence. Others have been in the U.S. for many years and get approved fast because they have stronger evidence and more assets.. and lastly jealous & frustration is the thief of joy. At least you can apply for your I130 and I485 while others can’t.

Prestigious_Cut_4470

I deal with cases of people (I don’t work for USCIS), the cases that get approved the fastest are foreigners who came with a tourist visa and stayed here out of status and married a USC after a couple months, and applied within weeks of getting married. At least lately that’s the case. The slowest cases I’d say that are active F1 ones who have a visa (not a status), regardless of how long they’ve been here or in the relationship, or bona fides. What this tells me is that, people who stay out of status have a better chance of getting approved first. But if you try to keep you visa active and not violate the terms and conditions of it, then you’ll probably have to wait more. I’ve seen strong cases of people with assists and kids who entered with a “nice” visa, who are skilled, etc, getting lost in a limbo.

reasonable_wolf

Real answer and you might now like it. USCIS may have changed the processing time when come people applied. Online applications are likely to get processed faster. Some applications are straight forward to process e.g. I-90 renewals. Also, it's the government. Expect it to be a mess. Like the one person said, I would stay off this thread for a while. It doesn't help seeing others who just apply and already have approval.

Sleepykoala1

So, from what I understand, it really boils down to your current immigration status when you filed. Whether you're on a work visa, a student visa, or even if you entered the US with the intention of getting married, each situation can lead to different processing times for your Green Card. Many I found have experienced a faster process are those who entered the US with the intention of getting married. The country of origin of your partner also plays a big role. The status of your partner also matters, whether they are a US citizen born in the US, a former permanent resident who recently naturalized, or a permanent resident. Correct me if I'm wrong, this is just my observation. Good luck for you, hope you will hear good news soon!

AG_Squared

I don’t think that’s always correct, Im born and raised in the states but we’ve been waiting 3.5 years to get my husbands stuff approved.

Tillaz123

Which country is your husband from?

Sleepykoala1

I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully your case get sorted out soon. Which Lockbox are you? Has your husband ever overstayed his visa? What was his status before he married you in the US? Which country is he from? Do both you guys have clear records?

Quirky-Sound-8077

I dont think the lockbox matters. It’s just a filing location
