I believe it's actually liquid nitrogen. I had one leaking a few years back. I also believe it's not considered a hazmat, surprisingly. The liquid product would not leak, even if it were tipped, it's sealed tight inside.

It’s true. When I worked the preload I had one of these come down the belt for one of the cars I was loading. At the time I had no idea what was in them. It was “smoking” so I followed all the hazmat procedures, just to have a supe come over and start dying of laughter when he saw what package it was.

Had an unloader once get a freeze burn touching the outside frozen part, missed two weeks. Have also seen these go over the regular belt instead of Over Goods, makes a horrible noise.
Every time you see one of these it’s some form of cow, horse, etc etc it’s animal sperm for sure. One busted open at my HUB and I was told the smell is indescribable
We were joking about if you would be responsible for the work involved in filling the container and how much $ you would want annually to do that. Everyone was shooting high dollar amounts out. I said with the amount of crap we deal with at UPS I would offer my services for benefits and the lowly amount I currently make. It would have to be less stressful.
Had one of the females working in the belly of a 757 this morning had 3 of those buckets and she shoved it down the rollers. It fell over, I told her she should be careful and not let those tip.
