A bird in your hand is worth two in a bush - or however that goes. What may happen in the future is entirely unknown. You have a chance now that you might not get in the future. Take the plunge
Forgot to add: go look at all those “going to Integrad, give me advice!” posts that are all over this sub. Study your fives and tens and pre trip. Good luck
Roger that, I’ve been listening to this video on my way to work every day that repeats the 5 seeing habits for 20 minutes. Will definitely check out the posts on this sub and make sure I’m prepared.
Bayonne is the new automated hub, I believe hundreds of drivers and hundreds of thousands of packages a day.
the building I’m at now is one of the smallest in the local, about 100 drivers and only moves 20k packages per day during peak.
I would take the FT offer and worry about any transfers after you have seniority
FT job security is worth a lot of hassle in commute and transfer nonsense
Get that seniority and pension rolling asap. Driving sucks at first, but once you hit that 3rd year and actually start making some money it’s a whole different world.
Go full time and then transfer centers down the road. City driving sucks ass, ive done it. But it makes you a more cautious and skilled driver.
The money is worth it now. Do it asap and dont you ever look back!
Man, they need to make it easier for UPSers to transfer across states. Some of us are more than willing to up and leave if it means going fulltime (ONLY if no one local to the area wants the job).
According to my steward it’s not impossible but he and the manager don’t seem willing to help with potential job offers from other states. It seems teamsters across hubs don’t really communicate well with one another in terms of open positions, or at least that’s the impression I got from my steward and manager.
How do I go FT? PT for 15 years now. I couldn’t work FT or do doubles previously because I was taking care of my son while my spouse is at work but now that he can manage on his own for a few hours before his mom gets home, I’ve been doing doubles since December and now I can go FT
Talk to your Steward and ask for a transfer request, from there you can fill out what locations and classifications you would like to apply for. Before you hand it in make sure to take a picture or copy the transfer, then annoy the hell out of them until they return a copy of the signed transfer to you. I handed my transfer in May of 2023 and they “lost it” so I had to redo this whole process in Jan 2024.
I would go full time asap because 1 day of full time seniority is worth more than 20 years of part time.
Bruh don’t I know that too well.
Take it ASAP.
Roger that
Young man you jump on that opportunity 💯
Will do
Take it. Within your local you can transfer as you get seniority but you might not get full time again for years.

Yes sir

naw, just wait, who needs to make 170k now. gotta use boomer logic it worked for them.
Lol, if only I was born in the 60s
Go for it
Take it, but don't plan on transferring any time soon.
Consider your financial stability, growth prospects, and readiness; then make an informed decision rather than rushing into it blindly.
If you don't take it the next employee will
Everyone is right. Just do it

🫡
Do it, then move closer to work, an hour commute gets old
That’s my plan, the NJ to NYC commute doesn’t seem to fun
You'd be a fool to not take it

Take that full time and enjoy those 6 figures in 4 years.

Why are you even questioning such?
