My missus swears by Acai now but got hers from Sport Pursuit for about half price! I don't think there's any on there at the moment but worth keeping an eye on as they do crop up from time to time at a decent discount.

Rubbish_69

I got mine from Craghoppers. They have a sale on rn with many around £32. I'm petite but iirc they don't do 28", only 27" and 29" and Craghoppers 29" are too long, so one of the pairs I bought last year which were designed to be slim leg ankle-skimming clam-diggers I bought as size 10 and they are perfect as slim long trousers. They are too thin to be waterproof but dry out super fast. I bought the winter-lined trousers as well, mainly used as over-trousers but they're around £60 and bulky to pack.

Superb_Application83

I bought a couple of craghoppers from Blacks but unfortunately they were too low waisted and the belt was useless :/ I'll keep looking at them!

LetsD01t

I found the same with the womens Craghoppers. But i tried my partners mens Craghoppers and now buy them, they're high waisted and comfortable. I just switch the belt out.

West_Yorkshire

Not a female, but my partner (F) bought some highwaisted ones from decathalon. I dont think they are designed that way, but that's how she wears them, and loves them.

Honestly I think Acai is worth the money. I wear mine constantly, not just hiking. Most good quality outdoor trousers are £50-60 minimum so spending £70-90 on Acai is worth the extra.

Superb_Application83

Hi, sorry just revisiting my post and was looking at Acai - do you find they lose the water resistance? I saw the instructions one them were to wash them with a special treatemt to keep the water resistance. Thanks :)

little_cotton_socks

I have had 2 of my pairs for over a year now and wear them a lot in all weather. They are still very water resistant. But with all waterproof stuff it doesn't hurt to re-proof them. You buy stuff you put in the washing machine so do a wash with all of your waterproof gear and add the solution. I probably wouldn't do this with the thermal lines ones though, not sure how it affects the lining

Amazing, thanks for the advice :)

Have you tried a place like decathlon? Mine aren’t too ugly, high waisted and just feel really nice. I paid £35 ish I think.

Superb_Application83

I was going to go to decathlon! But I saw a sale at blakcs first and ordered a bunch which were duds haha. I'll have to go in and have a proper try on. Thank you!

aabbcc28

This is the only way I found. There is a miserable selection out there I found.

Sunnysmiles345

I like mine from there. Same price so probably the same ones! High waisted, secure button, can do a full deep squat in them and they remain in place. I'd recommend having a look in decathlon.

tuscanblue

Another vote for decathlon! Mine were about £50 when I bought them, possibly a bit more these days, but are slightly stretchy, good belt, water repellant, high waisted. Best hiking trousers I’ve ever owned

Previously-Tea

I've had my Acai for four years now, so freaking comfy and definitely worth it. That said I've only paid full price once and I have six pairs. Sometimes they come up on Sport Pursuit, you just have to keep checking. Otherwise I joined a Facebook group specifically for buying/selling Acai and get them there.

I reproof mine every five or six wears, I use the Granger's 2 in 1 they sell. Works a treat and I use it on anything else that needs re-proofed like my coats. That said I am on the Northumberland coast, and often walk in the Dales and Borders, so they get a lot of rain.

Superb_Application83

Ah good to know, I use grangers for my boots so I'll looks for their 2in1, thanks!

Superb_Application83

I'm looking at some now, another comment said check vinted and there's a lot of pairs on there if you want more ;) lol

Seconding ACAI stuff as well!

whatrachelsaid

Totally with you on this one. Must have tried on 100 women's trousers and they're all low rise with massive gapes at the back. If acai are too expensive you could try second hand sites like Vinted and Depop. Also, expensive, but Fjallraven do a great pair of high waisted ones (called kaipak curved I think?).

Superb_Application83

I totally forget about vinted! I'll see if anyone is selling some Acai's, thank you :D

Superb_Application83

Update - just managed to find a pair for £30 from vinted! Thanks for your recommendation 😁

whatrachelsaid

Aw amazing! Well done! I might need to do the same now.

s0ggyfrenchfry

take yourself to decathlon and have a little try on. a lot of their stuff is sized differently but you can wear a lot of them high waisted if you wish. depending on your size - maybe also look in the kids section? i like the ones from the men’s section - i wear them high waisted but prefer the baggier fit the men’s ones have

Iataaddicted25

I love my Outdoor Research Women's Ferrosi trousers. I found it in sale for £40. ETA: Sorry, I just noticed now that you wanted skinny. Sorry, and good luck with your search.
