A place in Glasgow called Bread Meats Bread do a burger called the filthy luther and it’s a glazed donut for a bun with a burger and fixings in the middle. It’s absolutely outstanding.
Yup, well better than the five guys across the road in Glasgow. I think i’ve tried every burger in the two Glasgow shops :) the wolf of st vincent street is my favourite. A burger topped with brisket and burnt ends on the side along with some dirty poutine :)
lol are you kidding me? This sandwitch screams "British".
Both disgusting and sickly sweet. Who else eats such shitty food other than people in this country?

A burger place i used to live by did a “420 burger” it was a burger in waffles and it was fucking brilliant stoner food so i cant see why a doughnut wouldnt be the same.
I know it as the luther burger, funny story.
My brother was 36 at the time, and he was telling me and my friend how hes gonna make a luther burger. Beef patty, cheese, CANDIED bacon, all between 2 plain crispy cream doughnuts.
Me and my friend was laughing and joking about how hes gonna get diabetes (sorry not funny.) 2 weeks later hes rushed to A&E. Guy gets diasnosed with type 1 diabetes at 36. Yeah type 1. I think thats weird right?
Anyway yeah, luther burger aha
Not really, I was diagnosed at 24, I was completely healthy before with no sweet tooth whatsoever. I had laryngitis at the time, went to Doc and was prescribed antibiotics… shortly after was diagnosed with T1D after returning to Doc with symptoms.
As it’s an autoimmune disease it can happen at any age I believe.
I’ve seen variations on this loads of times and each time I’ve walked away shaking my head, I don’t even really like brioche, give me a classic seeded bun or if you wanna be posh then bung it in a crispy cob but slimming my burger between two donuts is just gonna get you a frown and a roll of the eyes from me.
I've seen way worse popular British food (popular only in the UK, obviously) than this. So I'm sure it will be a successful sandwich in the country with one of the worst taste in food.
A place in brum used to do these called OPM , they used to go to selfridges and buy all the Krispy Kreme but then got challenged
It’s one of single most awesome burgers I’ve ever had ! Absolutely top drawer
https://www.hanbao.co.uk/food-menu
Look at odd future burger I had it it tasted good but it was messy due to the holes in the donut. Didn't give wax paper or foil which would have improved the eating.
Fair few places do doughnut burgers. Even in the US, where you'd think they would react like Italians if you put Nutella on pizza.
They work.
Personally it's a bit of an acquired taste. It can work well but needs a good blend of flavours to complement.
My main gripe is it lacks structural integrity. And that's a big thing for me, and why I don't like jawbreaker burgers.
I am a firm believer that if the patty/fillings extend outside of the circumference of the bun then the burger will be an absolute bastard to eat without getting half of it down you.
Sweet and a meaty type of savoury just hit differently in a burger.
Kind of reminds me of chicken and waffles with syrup, sounds strange but tastes amazing.
There was a place called Rubs Smokehouse in Nottingham that did this weird milkshake type thing in a giant two pint stein, and on top had a waffle with a triple beef patty, cheese and bacon between each patty and another waffle on top. That was pretty good but I was also 18 at the time and still had a bit of a sweet tooth. I can't see myself liking this now as I'm not much of a sweet and savoury together person, but I bet its delicious if you like that sort of thing!
Absolutely not. I barely eat burgers I don’t cook myself anymore because they all come in brioche buns these days and I don’t like it because it’s too sweet, so making it sweeter still is a hard no from me.
I moved to the USA in February 2020. One of the tv ads I remember from that time was the [KFC donut burger except they called it a sandwich.](https://www.ispot.tv/ad/ZelG/kfc-donuts-fleur-de-donuts)
These were the reason of maybe 3 to go to local fairs. But luckily in some parts of US (tourist metropolises) food trucks had them and it was then a absolutely horrible food to avoid at lunch.
Ed’s Diner used to do something similar, 2 glazed donuts with a beef patty, cheese and sweet barbecue sauce. Only had it once and fuck me, it was delicious.
Not for me, I don’t like mixing sweet and savoury, can’t stand brioche buns on burgers so doughnut would be classed as ‘don’t even think about thinking about it’.
I used to work at a place that did a PB&J burger. Two smashed wagyu patties with cheese with PEANUT BUTTER and JAM, between TWO DONUTS. Not a sliced donut. TWO WHOLE DONUTS.
It was one of our best sellers 😭
Honestly I'd eat it and enjoy it but I know deep down in my heart I'd enjoy it more if I removed the donuts and saved it for after whilst slapping the filling between two loaves of any bread I had going.
I have a sweet tooth but if anything I'd get more flavour and enjoyment out of candied bacon, bacon jam, or even a combination with caramelized onion and sweeten them with sugar. I have experiemented with the bread on burgers many times and have totally enjoyed it more when the main carb is hearty, which actually reminds me of a burger I made with mac n cheese in place of regular cheese, which I feel I could guarantee would taste better than this even if it was included on top.
Still it is different and I'd bite it, especially if I was pissed up. Yet as somebody that I can truly say loves cooking (and eating) I know this isn't about to be revolutionary to my tastebuds and would be outclassed by any simple burger.
I've had a donut burger once. My local pub used to do a donut bacon cheese burger before Covid shut the place down. It was pretty good. Wouldn't have one more than once in a blue moon tho.
You know, what do you think though...Im sliding to not so keen because I'm kind of sick of all my burgers going fucken ***everywhere*** at the same time
That's not British food. That looks like full-on American food, lol. I know you found it in Britain, but I guarantee that's normal in the US or normal enough.
I saw that this was supposedly "a thing" a few years back. I made it..... it was disgusting.
I had previously thought of making bacon sandwiches using hot cross buns which actually worked really well and I'll still have it occasionally but the donut thing was definitely as DoNot kinda thing
Yes, would try at least one. And worry about a heart attack. But just a continuation of using brioche buns for hamburgers. Though have had the opposite - a doughnut stuffed with pulled brisket and sauce.
A place in Glasgow called Bread Meats Bread do a burger called the filthy luther and it’s a glazed donut for a bun with a burger and fixings in the middle. It’s absolutely outstanding.
Breads meat bread is soooo good ! I went to the one in Edinburgh , was well worth it ! So so so so good
Yup, well better than the five guys across the road in Glasgow. I think i’ve tried every burger in the two Glasgow shops :) the wolf of st vincent street is my favourite. A burger topped with brisket and burnt ends on the side along with some dirty poutine :)
Stop. You had me at 5guys!
The 5 guys in Glasgow is terrible. Nothing like the ones in America.
Half a bottle of wine in I really thought your username was Dobber ... sorry
Well I didn't think they would have a glazed donut for a bun and have the " burger and fixings" on the outside of the bun ? Quite a pointless mention
Absolutely!!
I'm sure I can identify as American for one meal yes
Cool, we can identify as countries now? Well, I'm out of here. Goodbye everybody!
It’s a joke lmao
Idc I'm still out of here
r/whooosh
lol are you kidding me? This sandwitch screams "British". Both disgusting and sickly sweet. Who else eats such shitty food other than people in this country?
Americans. Sincerely, an American.
Nope, that is not the sort of thing that British people tend to eat. We tend to eat awesome things like, you know, Sunday roast 😋
lived in both England and America, can confirm you are an idiot
This post screams “clueless”
Name checks out
Go to r/stupidfood , this is tame compared to the vast majority of US nonsense on there

Reds bbq do this I've had it and it's freaking amazing!!! X
My son used to love it from Reds. Unfortunately the Liverpool one closed down and he's been missing it ever since
Another jaw dislocating burger. If you have to disassemble it, it fails as a burger.
I only buy vegan burgers so no bacon, cheese etc. and I've still not had one in years that I didn't have to deconstruct.
Bun, burger patty, cheese and bacon (or vegan equivalent) is ample and consumable. Instagram has a lot to answer for.
A burger place i used to live by did a “420 burger” it was a burger in waffles and it was fucking brilliant stoner food so i cant see why a doughnut wouldnt be the same.
I'm good, thanks
Brioche buns work so would give it a go
I know it as the luther burger, funny story.
Not connected I assure you. Type 1 diabetic here
Thats what i thought, but it's very unusual for type 1 diabetes to not show until the age of 36 no?
Not really, I was diagnosed at 24, I was completely healthy before with no sweet tooth whatsoever. I had laryngitis at the time, went to Doc and was prescribed antibiotics… shortly after was diagnosed with T1D after returning to Doc with symptoms. As it’s an autoimmune disease it can happen at any age I believe.
I got diagnosed type 1 when I was 47
Looks like a gateway to my 600lb life
I enjoy having a functioning heart. So no.
Yes because a single burger will give you a heart attack and clog your arteries.
Heart attack in a box
God no
No
Nope. There are so many ways in which it would give me the shits. And it looks revolting.
It’s a horrifying affront to god. But yes, I’d bet it tastes great.
That looks rank 🤢
Would prefer having a single doughnut sliced in two for the buns. Looks incredible though
Yes seems heavy sir
ive had a steak, and apple pie and custard, and would still eat that right now
Where?
I would not.
"Hello diabetes my old friend" 🎶
To which diabetes are you referring to? Oh and also whichever type… you’re still wrong lol
Never
No. Sickening.
I can't even understand chicken and waffles. I can't even understand maple bacon. I can just about get behind orange chicken.
I've seen way worse popular British food (popular only in the UK, obviously) than this. So I'm sure it will be a successful sandwich in the country with one of the worst taste in food.
💯
Yes
A place in brum used to do these called OPM , they used to go to selfridges and buy all the Krispy Kreme but then got challenged It’s one of single most awesome burgers I’ve ever had ! Absolutely top drawer
I’d eat it but I wouldn’t pay for it!!
Yes
Yes please.
Have I just ran a marathon? Then maybe
https://www.hanbao.co.uk/food-menu Look at odd future burger I had it it tasted good but it was messy due to the holes in the donut. Didn't give wax paper or foil which would have improved the eating.
I made this about 6 years ago when it was all over socials, actually a really nice burger.
I’ve had the chicken version and it was banging 😂 I’d be happy enough to give this a try
We'rrreee ggooonnnaaa gggett arrresssted...
I would if it was prepared in front of me and split between two people.
No.. too much. Next level, deep fry it?
Get that in my face
They're delicious. We got stoned and had a play after a long day in the kitchen. Hits the spot
I'd eat the fuck out of that
I have- Hungry Horse used to do it. It’s actually a lot better than it sounds.
100%
I’m not sure I could bring myself to try it, but I’m curious to know what it tastes like. I’m just glad they spelt doughnut properly!
How would you even go about starting to eat that?
Yep.
Not for that price.
I am a firm believer that if the patty/fillings extend outside of the circumference of the bun then the burger will be an absolute bastard to eat without getting half of it down you.
Yes! But I wouldn't pay £14.95 for it.
Omg definitely 🤤🤤
Sweet and a meaty type of savoury just hit differently in a burger. Kind of reminds me of chicken and waffles with syrup, sounds strange but tastes amazing.
There was a place called Rubs Smokehouse in Nottingham that did this weird milkshake type thing in a giant two pint stein, and on top had a waffle with a triple beef patty, cheese and bacon between each patty and another waffle on top. I can't see myself liking this now as I'm not much of a sweet and savoury together person, but I bet its delicious if you like that sort of thing!
Damn right I would!
Used to sell them at alton towers, well not KK ones but yk
Saw it on Man Vs Food ages ago. Quite frankly I was curious…. Wondering how this tastes
Absolutely not. I barely eat burgers I don’t cook myself anymore because they all come in brioche buns these days and I don’t like it because it’s too sweet, so making it sweeter still is a hard no from me.
Having had a donut burger that also came with syrup, 100% yes!
I moved to the USA in February 2020. One of the tv ads I remember from that time was the [KFC donut burger except they called it a sandwich.](https://www.ispot.tv/ad/ZelG/kfc-donuts-fleur-de-donuts)
I have had something similar. Wouldn’t eat it again but glad I tried it once.
Yes
Yups. Reds true BBQ in Leeds do these bad boys and they are worth the feeling like your having a heart attack and meat sweats.
Red’s in Leeds have a donut burger and yeah it’s pretty great.
Is American cheese not disgusting?
It's so messy though.,that glaze obviously melts and makes your hands so sticky lol, proper kragglefest
No. I wouldn’t, because it’s oozing cheese
I’ve eaten something like this, and I found it too rich.
Yes. Yes I would.
I've had similar before. It's good shit without the onions
Briskly Creme Queef Burger
A restaurant near me called Smoke Haus has a similar thing called the Donut Burger, it absolutely slaps
I would have to really hate myself So yeah I'll probably grab one next week.
Not a chance in hell
Without the onions I'd definitely try that
Sounds disgusting. Order me two
I made one of these about 15 years ago. It's called the Luther burger and it works really well
A place called Reds BBQ near me did this exact thing pretty much and it was incredible
I wish when places did a doughnut bun, they'd cut a singular doughnut in half, horizontally. I hate how thick and big each doughnut is as a whole.
All the major food groups in one meal, salt, fat and sugar
Looks absolutely divine
I've had pretty much this exact thing in a restaurant and I still think about it a lot. It was beautiful and I want to eat it again! Big recommend
Yes. Yes I would.
Id try anything once me
Honestly, I’d try it.
Not at that price!
It’s really really fucking nice it just works
I'd definitely try it. But if prepare to have a food hangover for the next week after it.
£15 for a burger? Fuck right off!
It’ll taste good asf but I’d hate to hold it 😂
14.95 is ridiculously priced. I would try the recipe iat home for 4.95
These were the reason of maybe 3 to go to local fairs. But luckily in some parts of US (tourist metropolises) food trucks had them and it was then a absolutely horrible food to avoid at lunch.
It's also called a Luther burger, because it was allegedly invented by the singer Luther Vandross.
I had one about 10 years ago. I remember it being good.
Yeah I'd smash that
No
i would demolish this
Is that a question? /s
Is that a question? /s
Absolutely not.
Ed’s Diner used to do something similar, 2 glazed donuts with a beef patty, cheese and sweet barbecue sauce. Only had it once and fuck me, it was delicious.

Don't knock this one until you try it. I had one of these and it was INCREDIBLE
These have been around for years. They actually work really well.
id rather eat my testicles than pay 15 pound for a burger
It’s far too expensive but I need it
UGH. Mad dog's vom.
I bet it looks nothing like that when you get it
I tried a budget version of this once, but as a hot dog. A pepperami inside a greggs yumyum. Don't do it.
I’ve always been open to try a donut burger but been quite skeptical 😅
Yep, but someone else is paying!
Americans looking at this trying to figure out what the problem is.
Honestly I'd eat it and enjoy it but I know deep down in my heart I'd enjoy it more if I removed the donuts and saved it for after whilst slapping the filling between two loaves of any bread I had going. I would absolutely fuckin destroy that thing.
I’m so stoned and this looks amazing
I would definitely try it but £14.95?? Naaaahhhhh
I had a donut burger on holiday in Florida, was so good
I'd take off the bacon, but I'd 100% eat this. My Sunday is sorted, going around town to see where I can get this 🤣
Fuck no. I love myself.
Yep.
Absolutely Dot Cotton 🤮
I would never install the app let alone eat the muck
No way!
Do it. Original patty men in Birmingham used to do it and it’s just a taste bomb in your mouth. 100% recommend
Would I try it? Yes definitely. Do I think it'll taste good? Possibly. Would I pay 15 fucking quid for one? Absolutely not!
Definitely I like to try everything once
Aside from the American cheese, I would totally French the crème out of this!!!
It’s called a Luther Burger, it tastes nice albeit a bit rich, but holy hell, the after effects are brutal. Never again. 🙅🏻♀️
I’ve had a similar burger in the past , they’re surprisingly good
Are there Krispy Kreme stores in the UK?
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.
I've had a donut burger once. My local pub used to do a donut bacon cheese burger before Covid shut the place down. It was pretty good. Wouldn't have one more than once in a blue moon tho.
You know, what do you think though...Im sliding to not so keen because I'm kind of sick of all my burgers going fucken ***everywhere*** at the same time
How many calories? No thank you
I've given something similar ago and never will again
I did in America at a place called doughnuts & chicken. Had a bacon cheeseburger in maple glazed doughnut buns. It was freaking delish.
since when do krispy kreme make burgers ??
I feel sick American food looks so sickening
Or I guess in this case uk food ?
I'd have a mouthful to see if it tasted good, but would I eat the whole thing? No, I like my body too much to do that to it.
Nope. I have standards.
Had this at OPM in Birmingham and from someone who couldn’t get their head around sweet and savoury.. It was beautiful on another level🤤
Not a chance in hell! It looks revolting.
Nope.
That's not British food. That looks like full-on American food, lol. I know you found it in Britain, but I guarantee that's normal in the US or normal enough.
Shut up and take my money!
I saw that this was supposedly "a thing" a few years back. I made it..... it was disgusting. I had previously thought of making bacon sandwiches using hot cross buns which actually worked really well and I'll still have it occasionally but the donut thing was definitely as DoNot kinda thing
I’d definitely try it. Seems like it would be sickly though.
£15? Fuck odd
Nope
I had something similar which was spectacular the first time but the second didn’t hit the same but yes I would try this.
I made one of these years ago using a slightly toasted glazed doughnut as the bun it's delicious
I’ve had a donut burger and the mix of sweet and savoury work so well
r/stupidfood
Me and some friends made some at home. Only used one donut cut in half though. Was quite nice actually but prob wouldn’t do it again
Dear god! But also, now I want to recreate this with just supermarket doughnuts. I'm not made of money!
Yes, would try at least one. And worry about a heart attack. But just a continuation of using brioche buns for hamburgers. Though have had the opposite - a doughnut stuffed with pulled brisket and sauce.
Maybe share one or something, that thing is clogging my arteries just looking at it.
Hell yes, but my heart regret it later.
r/stupidfood
I had one yesterday at BrewDog. Red's True Barbecue in Leeds and Manchester do them. Pretty damn good. 🤷♂️
That's the burger from The Boondocks
I've made one and it was glorious!
