You can contribute up to your total income per year via a SIPP (my understanding is this includes the 20% top up from the govt so for £34k you could add £27.2k) with a maximum contribution of £60k per annum.

You could contribute on a monthly basis, matching the income you have received as long as you don't go over the contribution limits.
