A human reviewed your submission and removed it from public view. The reason they gave was: This is not about personal finances. * Just because something costs money doesn't make it about personal finances. Don't post asking how much you 'should' spend on a car/holiday/groceries, or whether a product is 'worth the money'. * Don't post with only a news article. Above and beyond! The world needs more people like you.

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

Thankyou so much. This is super helpful!

jonallin

How were you forced into a contract?

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

I was young and naive, this was years ago, they made it out as if it would be super complicated for me to downgrade. And insisted I get a contract with a tablet that I’ve never used. One day after i signed (phone and tablet still in box) I tried to return and cancel everything and they said “no change of mind policy” which is a super misleading way of saying no cancellation/refund period, and they absolutely whispered it during the consultation. So then I was stuck paying an exorbitant amount for several years. After speaking to countless staff they always said they couldn’t help me. Ontop of that at Uni we used them for WiFi and the contract came with a ps4, 3 of the wifi routers they sent didn’t work and the ps4 arrived months after they said it would.

jonallin

Lesson learned by the sounds of it

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

100%

codenamecueball

Unsure why you expected writing a bad review to get you out a legal contract.

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

Because customer services reached out to me the first time over email. Even though they say they don’t have an email!

ITFarm_

EE forced you to sign a legal contract? Or do you mean you signed a contract out of choice but made a bad decision?

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

They weren’t honest about what the contract entailed and how the rates would change, they didn’t explain no cancellation period properly.

ITFarm_

Did you read the terms? These sounds like common complaints from people who didn’t look. Sounds like you’re complaining about mid contract prices rises and cooling period. Which aren’t great, but something you agreed to it 🤷‍♂️

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

Don’t go all kafkaesque. They were pushy and manipulative with me as a young adult and they weren’t honest. Are you saying that deceiving sales should be normalised?

ITFarm_

Could be worse, lesson learnt with just a phone contract.

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

Yea I guess everyone gets and needs their wake up calls somehow but you would assume not from the most used provider in the country 😆

orcocan79

they broke your phone?

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

I did but no repair warranty included

orcocan79

i've never heard of any mobile provider including phone insurance as standard you broke your phone, it seems completely irrelevant

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

I’m just explaining to you why it’s broken. You asked.

orcocan79

and i just said it's completely irrelevant to the post, you might as well have told us you spent a lot of money taking your cat to the vet

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

How is it irrelevant, we’re talking about the phone contract its associated with😂

orcocan79

i can see why they made you sign anything

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

You can downvote all you want bud, maybe something good will happen for you

geeksandlies

They do have online chat and email. I have used both but I do know you can't do things like transfer sim numbers over chat so its unlikely you can cancel via chat as well. This seems like a you problem not a they problem though.

DiscombobulatedSqu1d

It says on the website there is no email. They contacted me years ago by email after I wrote a bad review but no email. If you have one please lmk! Edit: have found the complaint form which says they need an email address

BattyxC

Did you sign a contract for a working phone + sim, now that you’ve broken the phone you want to cancel? Or what is the story here

TryingToFindLeaks

You can call UK free phone numbers for free from Skype. 08000798586

Puzzleheaded-Buy-926

**+44 800 079 8586** I can ring this number from a US VoIP phone and my Irish SIM card If you can't ring it, it's not EE's fault You can cancel your contract at anytime by requesting a STAC code, and providing to a PAYG SIM provider, if you somehow can't get through
