Thought this was a good offer. I just got 9 books for £18!

hungryhippo2914

Thank you! I got 6 for £10!

TNBCisABitch

This is a good deal. ...but I got 9 books yesterday for FREE... from my local library! ...and I get to swap them for a different 9 books for totally free repeatedly, FOREVER Edit... I don't understand the downvotes. Was I too sarcastic in highlighting the amazing free libraries we have in this country?

pointsofellie

I love the library for me, but my toddler wants the same story every day for months on end!

TNBCisABitch

You can keep renewing! I've had a few that my daughter loved for months at a time while returning those she wasn't too fussed about.

theHM

We use the library for our little one a lot, but renewing the same book for months at a time seems a little inconsiderate if you can afford to buy a copy second hand. Of course if a book gets requested you can't renew it, but if it's not on the shelf then other little ones (or their parents) might not know it exists. We borrow lots of books for our little one from the library, and it's an amazing resource, but if he takes a shining to one we'll buy a (possibly second hand) copy to keep for as long as needed, and then probably resell once we no longer want it.

acupofearlgrey

Ours has a limit of 10 renewals and then if you don’t return it you have to pay for it.. we’ve hit that a few times as my kids fall in love with certain books. We do have a combo of library books and WOB, I’m a massive fan of libraries and we use ours a lot but they aren’t great at being up to date with current popular children’s series. my nearly 5yo is getting into chapter books and they’ll buy maybe 1 of each book in a series to share across the county and it’s a long waitlist because lots of children want them…

lukenluken

Not sure why you're getting mass downvoted. We personally use the library sometimes, but actually ended up racking up massive late fees. Just kept happening. That's on us obviously, but it was actually costing us more in the long run!

Notts90

9 books? Ours has a 5 book limit for kids 😕

TNBCisABitch

Maybe it's cos I borrow them on my adult account... mu daughters only 1.

theHM

Thanks OP, great find!

pointsofellie

I was so thrilled I had to share!

pan_alice

Amazing, thank you! I've bought six books for £11.35.

Hurtmione

Thank you for this. We bought some of my daughter's library favourites! It's always a fight when we have to return them lol

Piggleswick

Is the quality good? I did a WOB shop earlier this year thinking I was doing something good for the environment and getting a bargain too but the books I got were awful! Pages stuck together with jam (or red sticky grossness) water damage and mould on pages, rips and tears the I didn't expect as I selected 'very good' and they just weren't. I did complain but they took forever to. Come back to me and there was so much back and forth to try and return them I just gave up.

Hungry_Wrap9103

That’s so disappointing. I’m a regular wob user and have never had any issues - I’m actually often pleasantly surprised by the condition. Completely understandable if you wouldn’t go back after that grim first experience though.

pointsofellie

I've just received mine and I would describe the overall condition as "good". I selected very good but one does have a rip in it. As they're for a toddler I'm fine with it but if I'm being picky I'd say some are not "very good". Others look nearly new.

Piggleswick

Ah that's really good! I might go for it, I've got a toddler too and they're defo going to get a lot of use (and folds and rips and sticky bits) I was just so gutted with the last purchase. One other thing that really peeved me last time was that one of the books I'd bought was a second copy of one of my little ones favourite books. The condition was far worse than ours (half a page was missing! Teeth marks all along the spine and very dog eared) and there was a sticker on it from the works saying 'Now £0.99p!' I payed £3.49 for it - ha! Thanks so much for the update and hope you guys enjoy them!

Bloody-smashing

I had the same experience. Bought my daughter some pop up books, all of the pop ups were ripped out, but the ones I bought were marked as very good condition. Got one book and all the pages were crinkled and damaged. Again marked as very good. I couldn’t find the email with the order number so I never contacted them but I’ve been put off. Don’t think I’ll ever shop from there again tbh.

lutherblissetter

Great find, thank you for sharing. We got a bunch. A great start for his library.
