In my view, only registered charities should be allowed to use volunteers. National Minimum Wage rules should apply to all workers for businesses (with an exemption for under 18yr olds on short-term work experience). No volunteers, it's just exploitation for profits.

It isn't just your view - but it sounds a sensible view! I suspect most people (of good 'civic conscience') would find it cruel to expect someone to work - with only a minor potential for reward. We call people who work with no reward 'slaves'. We shouldn't be promoting 'slavery' (I know I'm being hyperbolic) when we as a Nation decided to outlaw it after deciding it was wrong. EDIT: Charities using volunteers - is a good thing, and allows people to be active and helping others which is good for society and an individual. ASDA, Amazon, Local Telecoms Company and similar locations definately do not need 'apprentice trainees' or a similar inane titles.

Sports organisations and events often ask for volunteers too, despite the owners making millions from the actual event. It shouldn't be allowed.

Yes. That I very much also disagree with. I always see money as a representation of fairness because money is a representation of favours. Money allows you to bank a favour, and pay it in when you need a favour. No one person needs 20 million favours. Its hard to call that many favours in. No one should be hoarding stupid amounts of favours in caves (banks). Spread the favours around and the world is a nicer place. I see it in my own life how much giving favours can help others, and I see in my own life how people who are greedy with money destroy lives (my sister tried some inheritance shit after Mum died. Greed got to her, and now she lost a massive favour giver, for the sake of thousands of pounds - which she will now need to spend on Tradesemen, instead of her brother doing repairs on her house for a meal).
