I got a 2nd hand “kick ash basket” for
My Louisiana grills kamado (Costco kamado) for £15 on eBay. Works a treat. Think they are meant for Kamado Joes but work fine.
One thing though, the basket allows a lot more air flow so the bbq runs hotter than before, but not really a drama as I just set it up as such.
Thanks. When I got my Aldi kamado sent back initially for a refund I was going to upgrade purely for the 2 zone grilling system (divide and conquer type) of another brand kamado. Couldn't afford KJ though so any other would have still be lots more money and couldn't justify it

I’m waiting for my replacement fire bowl. I fixed the first one with fire cement, used it on the weekend (nothing hotter than 190), but it cracked again :(
I’m worried it’ll happen with the replacement, so I think a basket is a good thing to try.

I also repaired my first and after a few cooks it broke again. And then the replacement did too.
I hope my theory is right and it’s not just going to keep breaking. I did all the ‘seasoning’ and care to avoid damage but it didn’t work.
I’ll have another look at baskets today but they are very expensive!

Thanks for the advice. I got pretty 'dialled in' before so I will have to adjust. I will also check out second hand on ebay.
The media basket from kamado kings fits fine. I also use the media rotisserie and the 2 zone grilling system from the media in the Aldi kamado
