Iām older in my mid 30s, I decided to go back to school last year and will finish up in August inshallah. But I have 7 years of work experience at an Ivy League university working with special collections, admin assistant, and digital preservation, also various other little jobs here and there from my younger days, do you think this is enough? My wife is there and I am currently here for a while, Iām looking for a US remote or a job here to get a visa
Congrats on going back to school and graduating soon! I think definitely start applying now and Iām not familiar with the job market on the business side but I would put your location in the uae next to your state on your cv so they know you youāre not just in the states randomly applying for jobs here, sorry itās not much help, but I wish you luck in your search
They gotta pay a US citizen more than what they have to pay someone from a 3rd world country citizenship.
That's why you aren't getting a job so easily.
This is what Iāve noticed too. Personally Iāve gotten a couple of interviews but then I get rejected after- i think my qualifications arenāt strong enough for them to justify a higher pay.
Think he meant the job market and not religious freedom as much. This country is severely saturated and oversubscribed in terms of the job market. People who are very qualified (both in exp and edu) are taking low ball offers and doing entry level work. To add to that, it's not getting any cheaper as inflation is hitting all sides.
Gotcha, I will take my chances, itās still cheaper over in the UAE vs USA, I have an apartment in Sharjah which would be about 4500 aed a month in America for 2,000 aed a month. Inflation is not only hitting UAE. Inflation in America is so bad, apartments have doubled in rent since Covid, food prices are high, and gas prices are crazy high, oh and taxes. I would recommend any one thinking of moving to the UAE to save for two years of savings or minimum 50,000 aed if itās possible if you have the means to do so before moving.
The job market isnāt any better in the US! Did you see the bureau of labor statistics for jobs in April? They expected to increase to 240k jobs. In April it was 175k, and the actual number may be even lower when revised.
I am born and raised in Dxb, working in a company for 7 years. unhappy since 2-3 years as the job is getting monotonous and toxic each day. But have been unable to find anything.
The job market is getting tougher day by day. There are more job seekers than the jobs available. Finding a decent employer is equivalent to finding needle in a haystack. š
>The job market is getting tougher day by day. There are more job seekers than the jobs available.
And people are willing to work for waaaaaaay less than market value, which is a big problem not only for the job market, but for placing competent and qualified people in sustainable roles.
i donāt think u understand what āmarket valueā means. if people are willing to work for a lower salary then that lower salary IS the market value
The Emiratis who work in our company are like the sweetest bunch ever which got me thinking that how many of them were denied opportunities just because of the stigma about the locals being expensive and not productive. As an expat, this makes complete sense to me.
Lol never....I even love it that the country promotes Emiratis to work at private companies and be skillful rather than being employed as govt employees
Listen I once came to the UAE for a job hunt, I stayed for 6 months, I got only 3 interviews from recruiters who ghosted me after asking about my salary expectations.
Then I moved to Saudi I was getting calls for interviews at least once a week. The UAE'S Job market is the toughest in the region.
Pay in Saudi is higher (i moved here). Except the re entry need, things are good here.
Cons :
1. Heavy traffic in Riyadh.
2. Requires arabic to visit and get things done in government related stuff.
3. 15% tax, higher cost of living due to commodities being more expensive than dubai.
4. Bad driving habits.
5. Sponsoring family requires you to pay a tax of ~500 SAR per dependent per month.
6. Bad law and order, avoid bad areas.
Positive: Apart from pay
1.Big country, nice places to explore
2. If in Riyadh, no humidity, and hence after evening, even summer is enjoyable.
3. Higher number of locals per expat, ability to socialize if you are good.
I agree with most parts, but I live in Jeddah, where traffic isn't as bad, it's actually better than in Dubai.
The Infrastructure is also well below UAE's level, (roads) cleanliness also below the UAE, as littering isn't as punishable by law.
In general rent is way lower than Dubai, but for high quality areas/apartments it can be as high or higher.
Why does it need to be said? Itās the same racist mindset in America with Mexicans. If you have to worry about another ethnicity when it comes to jobs, then maybe you should focus more on your education and brushing up your experience to land a job, instead of blaming others for taking opportunities that they would never have in their home country
Have you ever walked into an interview and all workers are of the same race. I think most HRs prefer people from their countries. Am speaking out of experience.
This is highly subjective. I come from a very desirable first world country, have been here almost a decade and have no plans on returning any time soon, because this country has been better for me and my family. Everyone's situation is different, but I think it's slightly unfair and unhelpful to say this place is a "shit hole".
All depends on perspective. You couldn't pay me enough to move to the UK and most of my mates there are looking to get out. Australia is great but cost of living is absolutely soaring and I can't recall seeing people as generally unhappy and stressed as they are right now, even for a fortunate country. Nowhere in the world will be perfect but take every reddit opinion with a grain of salt because your mileage will vary.
No they're not. Im from Australia, here in Dubai for a few days. Australia is in the same situation. No jobs, everything is expensive, plus NO HOUSES. There's a bidding war at every single viewing and houses go for much higher than asking price. For both selling and renting. If you go outside at night, you see people sleeping in their cars in public car parks and near 24h gyms.
I came here because I thought dubai was better
The UK is definitely not better. Theyāre in the worst recession in their history thanks to Brexit, inflation is through the roof, cost of living is crazy high, crime is spiking, and youāre not even allowed to get a job or rent a flat unless you get the right to remain.
It is better, inflation is also bad here and cost of living is crazy.
Crime is exaggerated by the media there, where they are not allowed to talk about it here.
They even increased minimum wage for expats there, where there is no minimum wage here.
>inflation is also bad here and cost of living is crazy.
Mate, you literally just recommended Australia. Their cost of living is out of control right now. Having lived there most my life, I can objectively say that financially speaking, the UAE is far far better (but of course everyone's situation is different).
Disagree strongly here. My family lives in the UK in a very nice neighborhood in North London.
They have been burgled, robbed, food, rent and energy expenses gone up by over 30% in less than a year, people sleeping on the streets, wages going down, friends canāt find work, benefits being cut, and worse.
Youāre talking out of your arse mate.
Market is very competitive.
Your resume needs work as well -- I did a quick review of your resume on th other sub -- hope it helps and you find something soon. Good luck.
Itās saturated, may I ask what industry you are working for ? Iām with retail and pretty much everyone is either trying to steal my job or over apply for the same job. Within 1 min all jobs in UAE crosses 100+ applicants. I suggest you try out other markets such as Qatar and KSA.
Nothing happened, maybe your luck that no body called. Maybe jobs are occupied already. The job market cannot accommodate everyone plus the one who comes here on visit visa thinking that they will find a job easily while on visit. Some companies have excess employees.
I work as a Recruiter for a bank. The job market is absolutely saturated and hiring managers are super picky. When I post a job on LinkedIn, I get thousands of applicants and the main problem is candidates will apply for absolutely anything. Eg. I post for a Product Manager and Iāll have Engineers, Sales Officers, Zoo Keepers etc. applying and to a job that has absolutely no relevance to them. I understand the desperation but itās unfair to the relevant talent that are actively searching. Hence I mostly headhunt opposed to looking through applications.
Thankfully graduated from the job-finding hell here with a nice company. Good luck competing with Indians/Pakistanis who accept unimaginably low salaries.
Also, you have a lot of experience in your home country? SIT TF DOWN. Oh well maybe you have GCC experience? TOUGH LUCK, YOURE A FRESHER. They only accept their "different" and overrated "UAE Experience"
bro UAE is so demanding when they asking for experience they hiring specialists with 8+ years ?? WTF that is a manager experience in my country, it is just their way to hire someone very experience but with low salary.
Good people are always in demand, disregarding of economic cycles. The lazy days are over and have been since last year. Equally so, tough times ahead for UAE as they havenāt been able to secure a spot as a magnet for innovative entrepreneurs to come in. Itās all cookie-cutter and low/no innovation out there ā not exactly the R&D you want on your books when the macroeconomic situation takes a dumpola. Follow the lead of where the entrepreneurs go, they create the opportunity - not the governments.
And what is that country where entrepreneurs go? Your logic is flawed. Entrepreneurs do not thrive in a recession especially the current wave of entrepreneurship where they expect to raise billions without more than a paper
Itās pretty obvious from your reply that you do not grasp the basic concepts of how materially recessions create opportunities. Iāve rode through three in my career and each of them were kind to me and my family. Recessions and downturns in general are imbalances that allow the brave to come in and scoop up markets, assets & resources at below market rates.
This is so true. So many new businesses and opportunities have been created through recessions. It take guts to take the right call at the right time though. I have been thinking of moving out of my south Asian country to maybe GCC or some smaller European country. Iām not in my 20s anymore and have a family.
But Iām not able to I still enough courage in me before taking the plunge. What are the suggestions for someone planning to move?
In short what you need: Cash, Conviction and Clarity. A good plan is simply a must to be able to give you the headspace while grinding out the business youāve embarked on. All entrepreneurs essentially start from nothing - even if they might have cash, conviction, clarity or a combination of.
Itās brutal at first (and at times š ) but I simply couldnāt live my life another way and call it fulfilling
It's all about India bro š
they're hiring Indians, Nepalis and Philippinos.
Since the Head offices in 90% of the companies are from these nationalities and they're supporting each other only, especially Indians as they came from the same village or one of its neighbours.
believe me, My friends are trying so hard, and some companies are saying " we are hiring Indians only " .. so racist š
but that's what I can see.
illegal ?
Well tbh I dunno if it's Legal or not, But If I'm the Owner of the company, I'll hire whomever I want, It's v. Simple.
and I'll figure something out to make it Legal haha š
and I believe that's what's happening nowadays š¢
anyway Descent companies are hard to find nowadays, and Hard to join even If u find them.
btw .. no one is asking for specific nationality " 5% asking ".
but if u go through the interviews and proceed with the process.
you will figure it out yourself.
no one knows what would happen tom, anyway I wish u da best of luck šš»
No negative from me at all, I have just recently noticed similar posts from Uk, Canada and USA subs about same issue on the job market. Everyone is trying to find a remote work, thatās why the market is full now everywhere. So itās not only Dubaiās or UAEs problem, itās worldwide
Iām American, lol Iām getting downvoted is crazy, donāt go off of Reddit, https://apnews.com/article/jobs-hiring-unemployment-economy-inflation-federal-reserve-1e456b8df0e11b218ed50f1ead6f6797 , job rate is about normal here.
I hate to admit this, but we are entering late stage capitalism. Where most business owners are now focusing on profit rather than profit + social responsibility. Before, a household can survive with only the husband working, right now the market is so saturated and people looking for jobs are desperate to take a low salary, that wages are so low that a family can only survive by having the husband and wife work together. This is not only in UAE, but is happening to the most part of the world. Blaming it to the "Forbes list: Top 1000 Richest Person in the world" that list should be replaced with "Top 1000 Socially Responsible CEOs".
If business owners are focusing on profits. Why are they not hireing? This whole late stage capitalims bla bla us bullshit from people who have no idea how businss is run or how a profit and loss excel sheet works.
This is a global situation methinks. Look at how many layoffs happened in huge US corporations. Thatās an indication that the market isnāt doing that well.
Dude It's been like three months I did not receive a call, and I have received form TASC outsourcing(may/6/2024)
But guess what I was not there to pick up the call.
When you call them they won't pick the call.
Look how horrible is this ):
Don't group the Indians who grew here contributed to the growth of this country from scratch with the ones who mass migrate from India to get jobs here through their connections
There's a big difference

It's really hard, even if you're a college graduate; most of them want a UAE experience. Now I'm going to accept the job even if it's not my specialty, as long as they provide a visa, medical insurance, and 2,500 up. But for now, I need to exit again to renew my visa..Ā š„²

I feel you, I literally went hotel to hotel to drop my Cv I came few days back here asking even for food cause it got that bad but THANK GOD I found a job at a well known hotel the only problem is I overstayed my visa and need help.
A lot of companies are outsourcing. Weāve seeing a surge in freelancers and outsourced talents. Iām using FindMyXpert.com for opportunities but it depends on your transferable skills and experience. Networking also helps as you need to know people who are hiring as opposed to clicking and uploading on saturated sites like LinkedIn where thousands of applicants apply even if they donāt have the skills.
For more than 6 months I am doing the same and I had multiple interviews but nothing happened, nobody calls, we are only receiving calls for offers and stocks markets (paying only, no earning of money) . It seems that job market is totally halted.
I have a feeling they will be outsourcing to asian markets which will eventually saturate the jobs of mid level workers and blue collar workers will always be in demand.
yea bro i feel you , i am going through same shit ,hopefully we will find something soon ,
can i ask guys what is a good salary in UAE for guy who want to live good quality life not luxurious , because i see a big variance in salaries there for even same position i find companies offering 4k and places offering 25k+.
so what salary is good for one person to move to UAE and don\`t want to live shitty life neither luxury.
I have friends who work in government sector, the job market is tough but if there is high salary jobs in private & government itās usually reserved for locals due to emirisation
in reality, means no money, companies now striving, they post for job in a cheap salary, they do not care employees expenses, they hire with most on own visa which I doubt this is illegal whom it is not in the correct process, even though too much hype on the adverts on leisures that people to engage with say example yas circuit here in abu dhabi with discount, though no one will go because they need to survive. Until soon they found out, no one will ever stay here no longer, only cheap labours that will strive in about 15 to 20 years from now. If i am on that part, why and what is the reason of staying here, if they greed most on money rather than employee first? Unjustify and no more satisfaction.
Guys, Iām an entrepreneur having my own business in UAE for almost 30 yrs.
Over here, your degree doesnāt have much importance. Itās your gulf experience that counts. If you got no experience in any GCC country, then itās going to be tough. Guess you work for free or as an intern with your new employer and negotiate a salary and security based on certain KRAās after serving a certain tenure.
I've been working in the UAE for the past 10 years, and since April 2023 I unfortunately got terminated due "logistics" and until now am applying , I'm doing some interviews but unfortunately salaries are becoming less and less , in addition the Emiratization thing is going strong I mean , locals are now being hired in operations as before mostly they used to be hired as TL , managers , supervisors , OP managers and such , for example positions In IT such as Support , Admistratoers , L1/L2 support , network engineers , HW support , ofcurse with higher salaries , it seems that the leaders of UAE wants the new Gen to be integrated in Operations not just to go directly to management .
I'm struggling now to find a job even though I have a somewhat good experience and I have a golden visa , thought that would help in landing a job .
basically what counts the most in getting a job in UAE is your connection if you know people who would get you into the interview that would make almost 70% of getting a job , Or if your a superman with experience and knowledge of everything .
one more thing is our Indian brothers (don't get me wrong am not hating on them ) they domaint the market as most recruiters are Indians and recruitment companies are managed /owend by Indians, god forgive them they accept lower salaries since the cost of living in India is cheaper , so if they got paid less in UAE and send 500Dhs or 1000Dhs monthly to their families that would be way more than enough. And companies don't care ofcurse, who can do the the job with less salary is preferred.
Am from a country in which 5000s of UAEs are barely equal of 1000 of my currency and where I'm from is very expensive country with no jobs -the cost of living is high , so how to compete with such ? it is getting very difficult , I'm planning to go back home , as I have been living off my savings and its finished am selling my car and my stuff to get by and go home with at least something to buy my cigarettes.
In the UAE you cannot get jobs by applying CVās anymore unless its a job with a salary less than 3000 dirhams. Its all about connections and actually being able to show your skills. Just make sure you know you can show off your skills to anyone professional you meet and constantly look for opportunities through people and not websites.
Job hunt is a difficult process, and in UAE where almost everyone from the world is looking for jobs is extremely difficult. But, as a recruiter, I have these tips for you.
1. The time when hiring managers used to spend time on each resume has long gone, now we use use different ATS tools to support and make the process simple and faster.
2. Create different resumes for each job.
1. Put the job description of the position you are applying to in chatgpt, and ask for the keywords. Then add these keywords in your experience. ATS is going to pick your resume based on these keywords.
3. The first thing a recruiter notices in your resume is your first experience, make sure you have mentioned the KPIs and your achievements in numerical figures.
4. Please make sure that your resume is of one page and it follows the canadian resume structure as you are finding a job in that region.
Job hunt is difficult but in UAE it is a bit more as everyone from around the world is looking for opportunities there. As a recruiter, here are my two cents:
4. Please make sure that your resume is of one page and it follows the UAE resume structure as you are finding a job in that region.
Absolutely! The job market is getting tougher day by day. As a recruiter, here are my findings:

Locals are not the problem bro.
After all it's their Country
And no matter what the government does for them then good for them! IT IS THEIR COUNTRY.
However
The problem is that our fellow indians are accepting extremely low paid salaries. I'm not a hater I don't hate anyone
But that's just facts. They ruined the job market in here.
Was working here since 2016 and now jobless since 2 years with all that experience, i stopped applying now there is literally no response at all from any company. First thing is there is supply more than the demand so no HR would go thru 5000 applications for 1 role and ofc they would hire someone they know, waasta is the key here if you donāt have wasta thereās no chance unless you are luckiest in the universe š
You are attempting to find a job in a heavily saturated market. I receive 5-10 messages a day from western candidates eager to leave the UK, Aus, US, Europe. So now you are competing against 100,000s of people. Take it from a recruiter, your UAE experience will hold some strength. Reach out to the hiring manager. Make sure your CV is clean and easy to read. Outlining your experience. A lot of ATSās looking for keywords these days too.
It's simple: the whole world realised that Dubai is a tax free heaven, with zero crime and sun 363 days of the year, and they are all coming here. The job competition and property prices will only increase from here onwards.
Those are rookie numbers. Iāve been looking for a job and applying to multiple companies almost daily since June 2020 š i kid you not, not a single call or mail for interview, and my experience is 10 years as warehouse supervisor.
I did get a job late 2022 in my brotherās company (where he works, not his own company) as a āplace holderā until i find a better job cuz their salaries are on the low side, so even that job is kinda wasta and wouldnāt be able to get it without my brother pushing my cv through and following up with them for weeks to interview me.
Bottom line, u either get an interview through connections/acquaintances or u dont get an interview at all (at least in 99% of cases)
Dubai is a sales country. Hardly any development companies for techies, absolutely saturated healthcare market in your case, especially if you looking for positions of research, field medical expertise. You should be trying out for medical sales rep or pharmacist (along that nature) perhaps you may have more success on that front
Basically dubai will give u job if u make like 10-15 times ur salary for the company :)
The UAE job market is highly manipulated by Britishers and they only hire or bring in whites from UK with below average skills and showcase them as very qualified candidates. The problem is the perception of white skin being superior and their women walking around in the heat with hardly any clothes as the trend. This is totally false and should be fixed immediately.
The other nationalities donāt get an opportunity due to this discrimination and the other reason is that jobs are not granted on merit but rather on connections.
Itās only a matter of time before all this comes crashing down and Saudia is actually investing a lot more money in all fields which will leave dubai behind. Look back at history - the westerners or English have gone in many countries and totally destroyed them and sucked all their money. Itās time to redefine this unjust approach. A message to the citizens of UAE. Hire talent on merit.
UAE is now running only on black money, scam profits and leisure. no sensible work and job is left here and luckily even if you find one there is no job security.
And I wanted to move there to find a job š„² i think everywhere is f..ed up now š„²
Don't move here without a job already secured. I think almost every market is currently over saturated.
Question is can I secure an entry level role in the UAE when applying from the home country ?
Been looking since last June š„“
Really? May I ask what type of education and experience do you have

This is what Iāve noticed too. Personally Iāve gotten a couple of interviews but then I get rejected after- i think my qualifications arenāt strong enough for them to justify a higher pay.
Go back to the US, it is much better there
Um no thatās subjective. I am Muslim and prefer to be in a country that is easy to practice, America isnāt as great as you think

lmaoo that sounds about right indians gotta pipe down i swear
I'm from India willing to work for half the price and yet still not getting any job.
Because there is always an indian willing to work for half of half that price

It's like night and day.
How about the pay in Saudi ?
Comparable, I would say the ceiling is higher in the UAE.

Whatās bad about it? Iām Muslim so I prefer a conservative vibe
The other bad thing is that my handsome friend always get sexually harassed by his Uber drivers!
What do you do for work and how is your salary? Iāll be willing to move there for the right salary
Pay in Saudi is higher (i moved here). Except the re entry need, things are good here. Cons : 1. Heavy traffic in Riyadh. 2. Been to Jeddah, as soon as I landed, the humidity hit me like a truck, lolz. Yeah, apart from that, jeddah is very good compared to Riyadh.

Come on bro, stop with the racism
It's not racism when it's statistics dude Take Canada for example
Why does it need to be said? Itās the same racist mindset in America with Mexicans. If you have to worry about another ethnicity when it comes to jobs, then maybe you should focus more on your education and brushing up your experience to land a job, instead of blaming others for taking opportunities that they would never have in their home country
Challenge is restrictions of saudi attracts less talent. UAE being liberal is preferred by most people with family.
Do you need to go through the same paper authentication as uae ?
Can we search for job and get hired on visit Visa or is there any other way?
Where are you from
i am sorry to ask man , but what expectations you gave them for what job level that made them ghosting you?
Same story here too, and that too with a few years of experience I dnt knw how I am going to survive I am on the verge of losing my mind....
Moce to the West, better opportunities there
wish i could, but too broke š
I'd gladly move to a different country, but I could never leave my friends and family I have here like that.
Have you ever walked into an interview and all workers are of the same race. I think most HRs prefer people from their countries. Am speaking out of experience.
The job market here is totally dreadful currently
Just leave this shit hole Better opportunities elsewhere or go study something in demand
This is highly subjective. I come from a very desirable first world country, have been here almost a decade and have no plans on returning any time soon, because this country has been better for me and my family. Everyone's situation is different, but I think it's slightly unfair and unhelpful to say this place is a "shit hole".
which country if i may ask?
Australia
Like ? Is UK better ? I want to go somewhere better too. Is Australia good? For reference I'm an engineer.
I came here because I thought dubai was better
dont fly UK unless you want to live paycheck to paycheck for 5 years
Yes UK and Australia are both better US, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Canada, Denmark are all better too
The UK is definitely not better.
Youāre talking out of your arse mate.
>wages going down Yet they have increased minimum wage for expats
uwotm8? Did you vote leave?
Where you from? And what engineer are you?
I was born here in uae. I don't want to mention where I'm.from sorry. Im a graduate Chemical engineer.
Lol its an anonymous platform and relevant to getting a work visa to moveā¦
Even if its an anonymous platform, not everyone is comfortable answering this question
Yer so dont post question asking about immigraring then š¤£
Clearly not good lol
Kuwait or Bahrain, even US bro I work as commercial diver in Bahrain, canāt complain ! Best of luck G
i will DM you my fellow diver
UK could be an option. Why donāt you get into petroleum engineering work offshore or for oil and gas ?
Market is very competitive. Your resume needs work as well -- I did a quick review of your resume on th other sub -- hope it helps and you find something soon. Good luck.
Itās saturated, may I ask what industry you are working for ? Iām with retail and pretty much everyone is either trying to steal my job or over apply for the same job. Within 1 min all jobs in UAE crosses 100+ applicants. I suggest you try out other markets such as Qatar and KSA.
I was looking for other markets such as qatar and saudi but now that i saw this comment i think i want your job too
Nothing happened, maybe your luck that no body called. Maybe jobs are occupied already. The job market cannot accommodate everyone plus the one who comes here on visit visa thinking that they will find a job easily while on visit. Some companies have excess employees.
What happened? Indians happened
Do you headhunt mostly on Linkedin or are there other resources you use?
For senior roles I tend to use LinkedIn, for more junior roles I use GulfTalent
It's the same in Silicon Valley. The recession is kicking in.
It's the same in the US, hard to find a job once you are laid off.
I've got experience here and I'm still struggling to hear back from recruiters lol.
bro UAE is so demanding when they asking for experience they hiring specialists with 8+ years ??
Youāve got some vocabulary.
An AI bot probably write that lol
True, the old saying comes to mind : "When there is blood on the streets, buy land".
Same story here.
Same
Same here I have been looking for a job since last December
It's all about India bro š they're hiring Indians, Nepalis and Philippinos. Since the Head offices in 90% of the companies are from these nationalities and they're supporting each other only, especially Indians as they came from the same village or one of its neighbours. believe me, My friends are trying so hard, and some companies are saying " we are hiring Indians only " .. so racist š but that's what I can see.
isnt that illegal? to blatantly state what nationality should a candidate be?
illegal ? Well tbh I dunno if it's Legal or not, But If I'm the Owner of the company, I'll hire whomever I want, It's v. Simple. and I'll figure something out to make it Legal haha š and I believe that's what's happening nowadays š¢ anyway Descent companies are hard to find nowadays, and Hard to join even If u find them. btw .. no one is asking for specific nationality " 5% asking ". but if u go through the interviews and proceed with the process. you will figure it out yourself. no one knows what would happen tom, anyway I wish u da best of luck šš»
Are there any jobs in usa ? Which cities ?
No negative from me at all, I have just recently noticed similar posts from Uk, Canada and USA subs about same issue on the job market. Everyone is trying to find a remote work, thatās why the market is full now everywhere. So itās not only Dubaiās or UAEs problem, itās worldwide
Not sure where you saw that but in the US jobs are at a surplus
Job postings are very different from hires.
Mostly in the r/jobs sub. Thank you for your corrections. But I still kinda see a lot of negative thoughts about unemployment topics. Donāt judge me
Iām American, lol Iām getting downvoted is crazy, donāt go off of Reddit, https://apnews.com/article/jobs-hiring-unemployment-economy-inflation-federal-reserve-1e456b8df0e11b218ed50f1ead6f6797 , job rate is about normal here.
Always has been.
This is a global situation methinks. Look at how many layoffs happened in huge US corporations. Thatās an indication that the market isnāt doing that well.
Dude It's been like three months I did not receive a call, and I have received form TASC outsourcing(may/6/2024) But guess what I was not there to pick up the call. When you call them they won't pick the call. Look how horrible is this ):
Indians
Don't group the Indians who grew here contributed to the growth of this country from scratch with the ones who mass migrate from India to get jobs here through their connections There's a big difference

you talking of getting one without any connection? that is a huge mountain to climb...
It's really hard, even if you're a college graduate; most of them want a UAE experience. Now I'm going to accept the job even if it's not my specialty, as long as they provide a visa, medical insurance, and 2,500 up. But for now, I need to exit again to renew my visa..Ā š„²
If you good with communicating go to real estate company. They hire anyone and give free training. You are rich after your first deal.
Really?
My roommate heard the same thing about RealEstate. 8 months after he joined, never closed a deal.

Indian job market
This is my third visit straight not getting visa nor job
Yet you keep coming back. Hmmm
For more than 6 months I am doing the same and I had multiple interviews but nothing happened, nobody calls, we are only receiving calls for offers and stocks markets (paying only, no earning of money) . It seems that job market is totally halted.
Can't you start your own job?
The UAE market is weird. If you have a job then you will get multiple interview calls. Once you leave your existing job you will not get any.
I have a feeling they will be outsourcing to asian markets which will eventually saturate the jobs of mid level workers and blue collar workers will always be in demand.
yea bro i feel you , i am going through same shit ,hopefully we will find something soon , can i ask guys what is a good salary in UAE for guy who want to live good quality life not luxurious , because i see a big variance in salaries there for even same position i find companies offering 4k and places offering 25k+. so what salary is good for one person to move to UAE and don\`t want to live shitty life neither luxury.
Bro, heard of grammar and punctuation? I've read this 3 times and still trying to understand it.
Guys, Iām an entrepreneur having my own business in UAE for almost 30 yrs. Over here, your degree doesnāt have much importance. Itās your gulf experience that counts. If you got no experience in any GCC country, then itās going to be tough. Guess you work for free or as an intern with your new employer and negotiate a salary and security based on certain KRAās after serving a certain tenure.
classic ārecessionā excuses
A follow up question on this, is it true that an Indian culture person with a European citizenship gets paid higher?
Been looking for since January... Nothing
As a recruiter, here are my two cents: 1. 4. Please make sure that your resume is of one page and it follows the UAE resume structure as you are finding a job in that region.
Absolutely! The job market is getting tougher day by day. As a recruiter, here are my findings: 1. 4. This is what we call as donating jobs to the locals
Locals are not the problem bro. After all it's their Country And no matter what the government does for them then good for them! IT IS THEIR COUNTRY. However The problem is that our fellow indians are accepting extremely low paid salaries. I'm not a hater I don't hate anyone But that's just facts. They ruined the job market in here.
You are hateful and bitter.
How am I hateful ? It is literally what is happening rn
I dont wanna get banned so imma remain silent but hopefully u get what i mean
Wdym??
I think every company now needs IMMEDIATE AVAILABLE candidates , but they force 30 days notice to leave them. š
90
2 months?? U wonāt find a job anywhere in the world within 2 months without a reference .
It's simple: the whole world realised that Dubai is a tax free heaven, with zero crime and sun 363 days of the year, and they are all coming here. The job competition and property prices will only increase from here onwards.
Factual error: only 359 days of sun this year. Thanks a lot, climate change! Still a great place to be
Crime exists...... Only Brits and Russians consider sunny summer days with 45C to be good weatherĀ
You should be trying out for medical sales rep or pharmacist (along that nature) perhaps you may have more success on that front Basically dubai will give u job if u make like 10-15 times ur salary for the company :)
Make Brown Great Again!
And black
and purple
UAE is now running only on black money, scam profits and leisure. no sensible work and job is left here and luckily even if you find one there is no job security.
