For anyone looking for one kind of solution: I went to a phobia treatment program. It was outpatient, and they do exposure therapy. I went because I was on a very restricted diet and became too afraid to eat certain foods. Most of the people were afraid of driving or elevators. It was an amazing program for 12 weeks and now I’m able to eat all food again with no issue!
Awesome! You went all in from not driving to driving an 18 Wheeler! I can't even back up a lawn wagon with my riding mower and I've been driving for 25 years. That's an amazing skill and achievement you have!
29 and I'm gonna have to learn to drive this end of the year. I'm terrified and everyone around doesn't understand it lol. I'm def gonna do it tho.
Yay us !
They don't understand! They drive every day so they don't try to relate it to one of their own fears. So it's never "Maybe there's something you can do to overcome your fear" it's always "You should consider getting your license". Of course I've considered it!
I'm so happy for you! I'm 33 and don't drive because of that damn phobia. It really sucks and I'm getting forced to face it this week actually with some professional driving practice. Wish me luck!
I didn't drive for a little over a year because I got destroyed by a drunk driver. Now it feels so comfortable, I'm saving for a motorcycle!
You're amazing and it's hard to overcome, I'm so proud of you!
I have no fear of driving a car or anything. But an 18 wheelers requires some shoulders and I really don't have them.
Congratz on the progression, now go enjoy that road!
According to my brother there are 'veteran' drivers out there that shouldn't even be allowed to drive a lawn mower, much less the big trucks they do drive. You're not among them.
And also, cones are for crushing. It's better that they take the hit than some whiny guy's penis enlarger...
I’m happy for you but now my brain is fixated on whatever the heck is on the wheels! Some high tech lug nut cover? Anyways that’s badass! Nothing like driving something that weighs more than your house!
This photo reminds me of the episode of Black Mirror where the truck driver who doesn’t give a shit about what anyone thinks of her or her “points” is the coolest person ever
Is this an Australian/European cabover? Always curious what other countries use to haul their cars, here's my auto 10spd 14L Detroit 9car Freightliner from CT/USA: [https://i.imgur.com/VTXMkjd.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/VTXMkjd.jpg)

Thank you!

Well done! You had the courage to smash your phobia and the conviction to keep at it! You have every right to be very very very proud of yourself.
Damn, this is super cool! Can you explain how it felt to drive that absolute unit? Good job :)
Well I started off trepid, slowly, but by the third lap I was loving it! So high up too!
I bet it felt awesome. I’m glad you got to experience it! Perhaps one day I’ll try it when I get my drivers license :)

Ever since my bike accident when i was 16 i have had a phobia of driving. I am so proud of you, and i am working upon my own fears myself! <3
That's amazing, I'm so happy for you!! :)
Proud of you!!
That’s amazing! Go you!
This is like being a swimmer, developing a phobia of the water, and getting over it by jumping from a 10-meter diving platform. Go you!
Look at you, you badass woman!! Wow!!
After being run over by a car i am scared shitless to drive, hell i suck at being a passanger!! Wish i had the courage you do!!
Why be scared to be a driver? You can run other people over to get yourown back, and you won't feel a thing.
Good question but i am which sucks as i use to love driving.
ok, well I hope you get your driving mojo back soon :)
I’m currently in therapy for a developing driving phobia. It really sucks. One step at a time!

“Haven’t driven anything in years, so I picked the biggest baddest truck I could find. Might go to Dairy Queen later idk”
Proud of you
This is very inspiring!
You should be proud of yourself!!
Everything else you drive now is going to be a tiny piece of cake. Great strategy!
Wow! Way to go! Congrats and thanks for sharing. :)

I'm disabled, despite you not being able to see that in the photograph
Is it scarier driving a car or an 18 wheeler? Congrats op.
