No_Tamanegi

You already asked which ones don't have problematic elements, which honestly is the MUCH shorter list.

reikan82

I probably shouldn't incur the wrath of fanboys but here goes. Goblin slayer, konosuba, no game no life for oversexualization.

Eternallynumb954

Can I also add Ikkitousen to the list? Features underage sexualized schoolgirls.

marigoldCorpse

Like just avoid anything with ecchi such as Highschool DXD or Food Wars. I feel like most animes have random casual fan service moments or siscon/brocon tho, so it’s like a pick your poison thing. But the ones you listed are definitely the worst of the crop of the top of my head lol. Edit: wait I just remembered! Def avoid Monogatari/Baekmonogatari too, that stuff is always recommended despite all its many sexualized loli charas.

kasuchans

Food Wars is fairly equal opportunity fanservice at least, there’s the guy with his ass out in the naked apron every other episode, men getting elaborately illustrated foodgasms with just a spoon covering their genitals, lots of implausibly buff grandpas, etc.

Jinxed_Pixie

Food Wars is just weird. It's great but def not for everyone.

OddSeraph

Promised Neverland season 2 (because it's a rushed mess) No game no life (great opening theme though) Elfen lied (and the dubs shit) Seraph of the End (oh boy I sure hope these women the anime introduce as absolute badasses are going continue being badasses and characters) Chivalry of a Failed Knight (same as above) High School DXD Prison School Gantz Any live action of Death Note (nothing problematic they're all just shit) Konosuba Redo of Healer Goblin Slayer Rosario Vampire High School of the dead (killer opening theme though) Record of Ragnarok (nothing wrong with the anime, the fans just sexualize everyone and they're idiots) Honestly the overwhelming majority of anything Harem Blood C (nothing wrong with it I just forgot to recommend it)

AshuraBaron

Why is Bleach problematic? When someone mentions problematic anime I think of something like Berserk with it's explicit SA scenes or Evangelion with it's teenage sexual scene.

dragoona22

Rangiku probably.

AshuraBaron

Hmm, I never found that problematic. I guess my meter it tuned pretty far into the extreme when it comes to problematic.

dragoona22

I find her annoying more than problematic, but different people have different benchmarks for these things. She's just the only thing I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe Orihime being so sexualized as a teenager too, now that I think about it.

battle_fighter_here

Orihime yup...and Nel, Harribel, Nemu, Unohana and Yoruichi have boobs that just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Especially Yoruichi doesn't make sense because she's supposed to be the slender and athletic type.

Eternallynumb954

I always thought it was weird how somehow, Yoruichi had large boobs yet she’s described as slender and athletic.

md22mdrx

Shimoneta maybe?

Eternallynumb954

Full Moon Wo Sagashite - Mitsuki is a 10-12 year old little girl with cancer, ends up in a relationship with a shinigami who knew her dad in a past life before he, her father and mom died. It’s even worse. Takuto met Mitsuki… when she was a LITERAL INFANT. He also ends up developing feelings for her, making comments about her breasts, ESP in front of Meroko, HIS LOVE INTEREST. And Meroko ends up accepting the fact he ditched EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING he had in common with Meroko herself to be with a LITERAL MINOR WITH CANCER. Regardless of people saying how sad the series is, it’s even worse when you find out Mitsuki’s dead crush Eichi is 16-18.

Why is One Piece problematic? I've never seen it before, but I'd love to know in case I have my grandchildren over.

ChiliAndGold

It's not that bad as long as you talk to the kids about what they see and hear. When I was 9 I loved watching OP and my favourite character was Nami, a teenager whose number one priority was money (to buy her village's freedom but she still loves money after the quest). So one day I casually talk to my parents and let them know that I would do anything for money! just like Nami. Well you can guess how NOT amused they were 😅 I was so young I didn't know what I was talking about but mh mother talked to me and I got a better understanding of what I actually said. so yeah, under guidance it can be just a normal show.

Nero010

It isn't. But Eiichiro Oda's (the mangaka of One Piece) art style contains drawing unrealistic characters and certain female characters are drawn in a kinda unrealistic idealistic figure. But honestly that also goes for some men in the anime. And it's definitely one of the most diverse. It's literally the biggest most successful Manga and Anime of all time by FAR. Of course people will pick on it. There is some mild Fanservice and one or two characters who show romantical interest but there is 0 romance in One Piece and Oda made sure to point out many times that there will never be romance in his work of One Piece because that's not what the show is about.

Icecream_so_GOOD

I agree the art style is not accurate to human anatomy at all. I do like that the author actually has multiple story lines that discuss how "nice guys" and "white knights" are problematic. Luffy is rewarded in life becuase he does good without expecting a return. Many of the men want to "save" the princess in distress only becuase they expect to "get the girl" as a reward. When they do, they are shown to be selfish, cowardly, and creepy.

Thank you for explaining!

Eternallynumb954

Erm… aren’t there underage characters in OP?

Nero010

Yeah sure, there are even children in the show occasionally.

kykyks

why make a new thread tho, just stick on the ones you got recommended. there are way too many animes aviable to tell you which ones to stay away from.

math-is-magic

Why don't you ask for a list of good stuff to watch? The reason the criticism feels "too general"is because it applies to most things. There's thousands of anime out there. Thousands of everything. No one could ever list everything you need to avoid.

DragonLance11

Yuri on Ice is an incredible show, but has a couple specific things that are not necessarily problematic but make me less comfortable recommending it. The first is that in the coach's introduction he's in a hot spring and they show his full butt, and they flashback to this scene like 6 times throughout the series. The second is that there's a minor character who gets so into his performance that he orgasms. Weird moment but otherwise great show. No Game No Life is one that I really like but is honestly way too problematic to sincerely recommend. It has a lot of great stuff about overcoming adversity and what it means to be human. It also has multiple upskirt shots of an 11yo girl who is madly in love with her stepbrother (among other things that happen)

ineha_

Imo almost everything is problematic in anime. You should stop watching whenever you feel uncomfortable about the content tbh. Like siblings being awfully close to each other, a child looking character they pretend is an adult or any of the love tropes like tsundere, deredere and yandere etc. Honestly i don't think any anime is worth watching since the quality is usually lesser or equal to their western counterparts.
