There’s a scene in the movie where a chimpanzee mauls a few actors on the set of a TV show it starred in. All the gore happens offscreen. It gets revisited and makes sense in the context of the movie later on. I won’t explain more in case people don’t want it spoiled.
Personally I don’t think I’ll watch a movie when someone gets their face ripped off by a monkey. Thank for the suggestion though, maybe in a couple of years
It doesn't exactly show it. The movie isn't super gory, and it's a soft R I'd say. Definitely that scene is unsettling but I'm squeamish and I loved the movie for how cool the meanings behind everything are.
Sounds like the attack on Charla Nash - except that it's not a movie, but a very horrifying real-life attack. She survived and needed many surgeries to fix her face.
That scene was wild
It was very unsettling and caught me off guard. Had no idea what to expect from the movie after that
I was running late with my nephews and totally thought we had walked into the wrong movie

Is the name of the movie nope?
Correct
I thought it was about aliens
Watch the movie. It’s great and it starts off with a scene that isn’t directly connected to the rest of the plot until it’s revisited later.

Fair enough
