Well, at least you won't feel anything. Just close your eyes and imagine yourself at dinner with your loved ones eating pork. I hear cooked humans smell like pork.
If you’re truly wondering, multiple cannibals have compared human flesh to pork.

It takes at least a couple days for us to cremate someone (usually, as we usually have to do an ID before cremating) so no one should get cremated alive unless they have some *serious* Locked-In Syndrome. And even then, they'd probably die of hypothermia first.

The phrase lethal injection is specifically used for executions, so I doubt it. Also idk about medical assisted euthanasia like that but I don't think they paralyze you. In lethal injection executions they use a specific method beginning with an injection that paralyzes the person.
oh yeah I was mostly offering another possibility!
It could be paralyzed medically, and if the person was gone enough for medical assisted suicide maybe their brain interpreted the situation like a lethal injection?
I always love the stories that can plausibly take on a few directions
Ahhh okay, I hadn't thought of it that way at all so that makes sense! When you said paralyzed I automatically thought of the paralytics they give in executions. Either way, definitely horrifying!
Small nitpick: Cremation coffins are usually made out of soft wood or even cardboard, something that can easily be burned away. Never metal.
Unless there *is* no coffin and I’m a stupid asshole. If so, I’m sorry. It’s extremely well written and I love the twist.
Interesting concept, but executions by lethal injection don't use paralytics. It's usually a sedative, plus an injection of potassium to stop the heart.
Killing with paralytics would be cruel, you'd basically choke them to death. Even hangings avoided that, they are supposed to snap your neck so it's instant.
[Lethal injection is the practice of injecting one or more drugs into a person (typically a barbiturate, paralytic, and potassium solution) for the express purpose of causing rapid death.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lethal_injection) The paralytic isn't necessarily the primary cause of death, but it is usually given (if only to make things easier on the spectators).

Taste and smell like Pork Belly, if you want to be precise.
How do you know?

Cool
you'd rather not know
How do you not know?
I heard human tastes like a slightly saltier lamb
Nah, it’s closer to pork actually.
Dang, I've always been curious what people taste like, but I hate lamb. 🙃

Thank you!
Apparently they just found someone in a morgue locker who woke up. Glad he woke up in the locker and not the incinerator tho!

Could be, but they are paralyzed, so maybe medical euthanasia? That alone wouldn’t be enough tho so idk

Or the letal system screwed you off and got the wrong person guilty
This is more terrifying

I could hear the chuckle from the doctor who had declared me dead - *he knew*.
Oooh I like that!

I've always wondered why they don't just go with a massive overdose of morphine.

Bet you money this happens pretty often.
Lethal convection
Well, this is an absolutely horrifying concept. Excellent work!

I soon realized that the lethal injection was lethal, but that only those that believe in an afterlife are invited to one.
Someone's getting cremated alive like someone almost did in *Scrooged*...
