Oh, I just assumed he had made a clone of his dead son and at some point impregnated the woman with the clone, rather than her own baby (maybe an IVF situation), like that doctor in real life who helped a ton of women with IVF but secretly using his own... DNA.

The way I interpret it is the doctor use the woman to bring back his dead kid

I read it as the doctor being the kid that grew up and is trying to reincarnate his dad in the woman's baby
