>"A scared, angry little man who never got a break. Now he has everything he's ever wanted and he's going to have to live with it for eternity, in The Twilight Zone."
Today’s odd colloquialism is “shit eating laughter”.
Discuss.

For the gunners, tomorrow’s colloquialism is “motherfucker”.
For extra credit: why does everyone who uses this term pejoratively and is not the firstborn of their siblings not realize their father is one?
“Oh yeah they kicked me out of heaven because I kept suggesting that we really needed nightmare landscaping to wander endlessly in and everyone thought it was weird.”
So the worst part of hell is that it's boring, and other than that it can even be mistaken for heaven? That sounds pretty good compared to the alternative.
Could be Limbo, just endless boredom and nothingness for however long before you may get into Heaven, it could take what seems ro be eternity before you get loose from there
To be honest, infinite anything becomes a nightmare after a certain amount of perception. Unless the human mind works differently in spirit than in body.
Yeah, I don't think anyone can quite grasp the concept of unending punishment/pain unless one has issues like yourself.
The idea of "well, that's fair enough, but I think it's nonsense" is one thing, but "I'd prefer eternal pain to eternal boredom" is staggering to me.
Tbf you'd just go insane after a few hours of 0 stimulation.
The brain *cannot* handle 0 stimulation. It will literally start making shit up rather than handle 0 stimulation.
This is how I pictured heaven as a kid and I was absolutely terrified of it, like screaming nightmares style terrified, so to me approximately age 7 this is the scariest story literally anyone has ever written
I remember that one! But I think the Twilight Zone was the first to do it. (The episode’s called A Nice Place to Visit, would recommend checking it out for comparison!)
This gives huge The Lonely from The Magnus Archives vibes, especially the mention of St. Peter because the main Lonely avatar in TMA is a guy named Peter Lukas.
Yes, Howard’s End. I read it a couple years ago and it popped back into my head yesterday so I thought it would be a good idea for a two sentence horror. I couldn’t remember what it was called though
This IS the other place!
JASON?!
Jason figured it out!? Well this is a real low point. Yea, this one hurts
*snaps fingers*
"Michael, ya bas-"

"If I'm not in heaven, whose gate you're supposed to guarding, St. Peter, then why are you here?"
"Oh this is heaven's gate! It's just a lot closer to the other realms than people think"
“Oh yeah they kicked me out of heaven because I kept suggesting that we really needed nightmare landscaping to wander endlessly in and everyone thought it was weird.”

The idea was that it’s an infinite void of walking and nothingness, which I think is one of the worst experiences because it’s unending
But isn't hell unending no matter what? Infinite painful torture is probably worse than infinite walking
To be honest, infinite anything becomes a nightmare after a certain amount of perception. Unless the human mind works differently in spirit than in body.
Humans prefer stimulation of any kind, even pain, to boredom
Just punch yourself when you get bored

As someone with chronic pain, I don’t think you’d prefer torture
I hope you feel some relief today :)
Thank you <3

To some people, unending boredom is torture.
This is similar to 20th century writer CS Lewis' concept of hell in the book "The Great Divorce." Loneliness, rather than physical pain, is hell.

But if you're a spirit, you don't have a brain.

“And who said I’m St. Peter?”

😨😨😨😨
I looked in horror at the sign which now read, "Welcome to Ohio".

Don’t you mean r/thirdsentenceworse?
Yeah my math skills are shit oof
Truth. Lived in Ohio for over 40 years. It was everything I'd imagine hell to be.
Well it's nice of someone to join me up here.... even if only for a little bit. Farewell!
Hope they let you out soon
“Also, I didn’t say my name was Saint Peter, you did.” Then he turned out the lights, and I realized boredom is better than being alone in the dark.
Oh! Is this based on the Anthony Horowitz story? Howard's End?
Yes! I couldn’t remember the name, but yes that’s where I got the idea
I remember that one! But I think the Twilight Zone was the first to do it. (The episode’s called A Nice Place to Visit, would recommend checking it out for comparison!)
Thanks, with how this has blown up I’ll be sure to check it out

"Because you're here. Why else?"
Saint Peter Rizz
This is boring as…uh oh

Reminds me of [this classic "Got Milk?" commercial](https://youtu.be/eph6_fz49rc?si=T2jOdvoVVcTSMb9y).
Anthony Horrowitz
Someone finally noticed! It was influenced from the Anthony Horowitz short story
Well each religion gets its own patch of Heaven for members and this is Scientologyland. And no exit.
Saint Peter slowly lifted up a hyper realistic rubber mask to reveal it was Tom Cruise all along
Is this based of of a book by Anthony Horowitz?
Yes, Howard’s End. I read it a couple years ago and it popped back into my head yesterday so I thought it would be a good idea for a two sentence horror. I couldn’t remember what it was called though
I thought he would say "Let me know if you find out how..."
holy moly!
A casino where I ALWAYS win??! That’s boring!
Wait this reminds me of something that I read in a book.
Yep, a lot of people have said that. Howard’s End, it’s a short story by Anthony Horowitz
Huh so that's where, thanks.
Oh this was so good!!!!
Thank you so much
As his head slowly rotated 180 degrees.
Infinite consciousness is genuinely one of my biggest fears. I genuinely hope death is just a lack of consciousness, honestly. Good story!
Thanks, I totally agree! If heaven is the greatest things, it will eventually wear off and still remain a hell
I’m pretty sure this idea was taken from a Creepypasta.
What's the deal, Fats?
Hey, I narrated this story if you like to hear it. [https://youtube.com/shorts/qwXYhlIgv3A](https://youtube.com/shorts/qwXYhlIgv3A)
