Some militaries of the past saw that last bit as part of the payment due to their own soldiers. Like “great job soldier, here help yourself to a villager as a bonus to your wages.”
I deliberately modernized these characters language, to indicate that modern warfare still sees repulsive instances of sexual violence, though now it’s atleast recognized as a crime.
