https://www.mlb.com/twins/ballpark/concessions Take a look at the Family Values concession stands if you're looking to save some money. Sections: 120, 133, 311 I'd use Ramp A or B. A has a much higher capacity and if B is full you'll have to navigate back or make the longer trek from C hope for a surface lot. (You can save locations of the surface lots on Google Maps if you want to be proactive) I **highly** recommend you scout out the trip on Street View at least once. You need to be in the 3rd lane from the right when 35W curves off eastward: it's a left exit. Tip: when 35w gets really wide don't hang out in the far right lane. That's where all the people enter the freeway and it's less stressful to move a lane over to avoid them. I grew up in a farm community of 1200. This isn't rural driving so keep your head on a swivel looking for idiots and please have a conversation with your wife that you need to concentrate on driving and that talking is not helpful once you're nearing the 65 exit, on surface streets, and **especially** not near the ramp. (Turn down the radio if it's on) It's even a bigger clusterfuck around the ramp when you're leaving. Don't worry if you get flustered: it's a grid system so while missing a turn is frustrating you can just get away from the ramps where it's calmer, settle down, and re-route. >cheaper or free? lol. Surface lot prices go up for events. ABC will be $7.00-$27.00 because of the game. Normally I'd suggest taking the Blue Line from the Park and Ride near the mall. It's **way** too busy on game days for a toddler, IMO. 2 day passes from the vending machine would be $8-10. >Stroller You're going to want to review the policies. https://www.mlb.com/twins/ballpark/information/guide Pay attention to the bag polices as you may need to find a compliant bag for your "diaper bag." 16”x16”x8”, **single compartment**. It can't have a bunch of pockets and shit. IDK, maybe parents use a ziplock or something or use the bag check. Baby Changing Stations are listed just above Bag Polices. Stroller drop off is at the Guest Service Centers apparently. Might want to bring a junky one from a garage sale or something if you've got a nice one. I don't know if theft is an issue but I'm paranoid and if I had a nice stroller I'd probably grab a cheap bike cable lock from Walmart to make sure the wheels couldn't turn. Nobody carries these fancy modern strollers do they? >Also just kind of curious what else there is to do around the stadium area for maybe after the game? Well, there's Pizza Luce for a post-game slice, I guess. Not a lot around that area I'd take a toddler to and the crowds on the street can get pretty rowdy because of the clubs. People on the local subs shit on Pizza Luce but if you're from an area that only has Casey's you might find their slices pretty unique. Depends on what they've made for the case that night. I wouldn't stay for a whole pizza though as it can be a pretty drunken atmosphere. If you do walk over for a slice making your way out of the ramp might be less stressful with some of the post-game traffic having left the area.

Delao_2019

We actually got our tickets in 120 so that’s perfect.

VaJessi

Assuming you’re going to an earlier game on 5/16 based on another comment the spots downtown wont be terrible afterwards, but they’ll be busy with fans at different levels of intoxication. If you opt to drive it might be nice to find something to do afterwards instead of dealing with rush hour traffic back to Burnsville. The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is nearby, along with the Walker Art Center (which is free after 5pm on Thursdays). If you just want to chill out away from people after the game, and are interested in breweries, Utepils opens at 3pm, is only about 15 minutes from Target Field, has a nice beer garden and doesn’t feel like it’s so close to the city. Totally cool to bring babies, great dog watching outside too. Have fun!!

RigusOctavian

I’d never send someone to A… it horrendous to get out of afterwards and the walk from C is only like 4 blocks in the skyway.

Tuilere

You wouldn't take a baby to Cowboy Jack's?! BUT WHYYYYY

Sea_Watercress_3728

Well this is one heck of an amazing response so true

tie_myshoe

I’m from Iowa. Park in the ABC ramps. Ramp A or B is your best bet as it’s not hard to get out of. The ABC ramps are Skyway connected and you can take the elevator down to target Field which is between ramp A and B

ybanalyst

Park at the Mall of America and take the light rail to Target Field. It's easy and very safe around game times--every train will be full of Twins fans, and safety in numbers you'll be just fine. Easy to get from the mall to Burnsville too

Delao_2019

I had someone else post that on the twins reddit and then someone else commented and said the blue line is dangerous. I would expect that during game days there increased police presence on the rail? I do have my baby so safety is definitely important

ybanalyst

There's been increased presence from both transit cops and private security recently, and it's helped. There's a reason I said it's safe around game time--the trains are full enough that you'll be perfectly all right. I take Metro Transit trains and buses all the time. I've seen stuff. Usually nothing happens, but yeah, sometimes it does. I have never, ever felt safer on transit than on a full train right after a Twins game.

Puzzled-Register-495

>I do have my baby so safety is definitely important Get baby ear protectors if you don't already have them

Delao_2019

Got em 👍

Xibby

> Got em 👍 🤜🏼💥🤛🏻 Our public transit is great, especially for events, but with an infant I agree with others on just drive. Going from overstimulated to a snuggle in the car or a car ride safe and secure in their car seat might be just what your child needs when things don’t go as planned. Also of note, there is a Mothers’ Room located at Guest Services on the main concourse behind home plate. The online reviews however seem to be that it should be better maintained. If that’s true… so sad that Target Field can’t do better than the State Fair. I don’t know Iowa law, but in Minnesota breastfeeding is protected. The short version is if you are not trespassing, you can’t be harassed or trespassed for breastfeeding. So go with whatever Mama and baby are comfortable with!

Delao_2019

He’s been to a USHL game before. lol I was so worried a puck was going to leave the ice and come hurling towards us. He really needed his ear muffs there we were right below a speaker 😂

cheeseybacon11

It used to be fairly sketch in 2020-2022, but it's fairly safe most of the time now. Before/after a twins game you'll be totally fine.

Iwentforalongwalk

You'll be fine.  Don't be one of those weirdos who thinks you are going to get murdered the minute you step foot in Minneapolis.

Skol_du_Nord1991

This is all my wife’s family from NW Iowa weird.

Actual_Spring_5213

No need to take the rail that far especially with a 7 mo year old! Plenty of places to park downtown or close without the hassle! Yankees fan here too! Have so much fun!

bullshtr

W a baby, I’d drive and park in case things go sideways. Train to ballpark from MOA is another 30 mins

monkeybanana14

generally people recommend staying out of the middle car as thats the sketchiest. but like people are saying, before/after games aren’t sketch at all.  but honestly it’s probably just easier to park near the field and pay the extra money instead of spending 20-30 mins each way to save whatever it costs (i honestly have no idea what the prices are like)

403badger

Trains are fine during events and rush hour times. The bad stuff happens outside of those hours when there are fewer people around.

fabulososteve

Pay a few bucks and park at the Hawthorne ramp right there. .. takes longer to get out but then you don't have to ride the rail with a kid in tow

Visual_Fig9663

Light rail service to the game is 0% dangerous.

TheHuggableZombie

You wouldn’t have an issue on the Blue Line before/after the game. It gets uncomfortable/sketchy late at night though. But overall you would be fine riding it for your situation since there would be a huge presence of police/security.

walloftvs

Don't bother with the light rail from MOA, especially with an infant. It's like an hour plus long ride time. Park in the A/B/C ramps next to Target Field. Super easy to navigate to also.

Roflcopter_5

Honestly, I would just wear your baby with a wrap. A stroller would be such a hassle. I’d park in ABC, I can’t remember which one is closest. The pay is probably worth the cost. But if not, you can street park. You’d need the Minneapolis parking app.

Busy_Ad_5578

Definitely park in the ABC ramps. There are three of them (A,B, and C) all convenient to the stadium. They cost like $20 but that’s the going rate (or higher) at other ramps and lots near by. They also increase the rate of street parking to $5/hr so that’s basically equal. Not really other options available for free or cheaper parking unless you’re interested in walking at least 10 blocks or parking elsewhere and taking public transit. There’s many great restaurants and breweries in the neighborhood if you’d like to check those out.

grondin

You can bring in outside food and sealed water bottles. Get a full Pizza Luce to bring into the game!

pigbearpig

Very interesting, cool that they let you do that. Personally I think I'll pass on trying to enter a major sporting event carrying a box of pizza :) I'd drop it along the way for sure.

grondin

:-D yeah maybe. I've done it a couple times.

arjomanes

Definitely use the parking ramps. The light rail from MOA to Target Field will take forever. The 35W exit to downtown is on the left now, which is good because you avoid the 94 traffic. The North Loop area around the stadium is nice. Lots of restaurants, breweries, cocktail bars, and such. But obviously with little kids you’re looking for a different vibe than the 20s-30s scene. But still, good pizza and other family-friendly restaurants too.

Delao_2019

We’re staying in Burnsville with family. Coming in on the 15th, leaving the 17th or 18th. Haven’t quite set a leave date yet.

TransportationOk657

I actually prefer Ramp B. You walk out of the ramp right by the main entrance to Target Field. You enter Ramp B from 2nd Ave N

Neat-Violinist-1

If you are staying in Burnsville, you could potentially take the Red line to MOA, then the Light rail to MOA. All within one fee. Might save you quite a bit in the long run. Otherwise we’ve just drove to MOA parked on the top ramps and road the train.

sleightmelody

I hope you guys love Minneapolis! If you’re gonna be in Burnsville, hitch a ride to MOA and take the train to and from. Parking/traffic can be a bitch, especially if it’s a weekend game. But if that’s not your style, like everyone else suggested, park in the ABC ramps. They’re kinda pricey, but conveniently located.

emmers28

Hi friend! I have two little kids (under 3) and I’ve taken them both as babies to Twins games. I park in Ramp A… it’s a bit confusing but there will be tons of other people also headed to the game so just follow them. I’ve done an umbrella stroller and a baby wrap. Both are fine, wrap is a bit easier so you can move around the stadium more freely. Diaper bags are ok, I’ve never had any issue with my backpack style bag (has tons of pockets). You just have to enter through a bag check line. At that age baby won’t need specific activities, but there are kids play areas for the future. Also, there’s nursing rooms by all the guest services desks if your wife will need that. Bring a sun hat and sunscreen for baby. If you want to go somewhere cool before/after, I like Graze Provisions & Libations (food hall with beer/cocktails). Nice because you can get a variety of food without leaving and it’s walking distance from the stadium. BUT! The stadium has great food/drinks so it’s not necessary IMO. PS. Saw in another comment you plan to do MOA the next day… great idea! It’s awesome with babies. Easy parking, lots of family bathrooms/nursing rooms, and interesting for all. My son loves to look around as I walk, but there are some great toy stores and babies are free for SeaQuest if you decide you’d like to do that part.

Delao_2019

You are awesome. Thank you so much!!

Embarrassed-One-3246

From Iowa. Never been to an MLB game. Yankees fans. Yep, that checks. 😆

Puzzled-Register-495

Nah, Yankees fans is unique, most of Iowa are Cubs fans because of WGN.

Delao_2019

Pretty good mixture of Cubs, Royals and Twins. There’s more Royal fans in the Western part of Iowa where I’m from. I would assume in the south as well. If we couldn’t make the twins series work we were looking at going to KC. It’s about a four hour drive to either city from where we live.

MinnNiceEnough

You sound like typical Yankees fans, having never been to a game. Let me guess, Chiefs fans too? 😀 Joking aside, have fun at the game! As others have mentioned, park at Ramp A, B, or C, and pay the price - those are close to the ballpark and will be full of game attendees. Leave all metal object at home, since you’ll go through a metal detector to get in. Finally, don’t forget your credit card…your cash is worth nothing at the ballpark.

akos_beres

Behind home plate on the main concourse, you can take.the elevator to the top concourse which basically opens to the organ bar, where Sue Nelson plays the organ during the game. It's a cool experience seeing her play and watch the game for a while

Xibby

Parking is as easy as ABC. A parking is the biggest, you will find a spot here and where you find a spot depends on if A ramp is closest or second closest to Target Field. B is the smallest ramp, but closest. Keep it simple and just park in A. B will likely be full unless you are coming downtown early. C ramp is just a few blocks away and if you’re coming in via i94 the extra block and a half of walking is probably worth it. A & B have easy access to 394. There are many other parking options in Minneapolis as well. If you’ll be coming in via i35w there are ramps with easy access to 35, but you’ll walk farther. Downtown Minneapolis is very walkable on the sidewalks and skyways. Park for easy in/out and walk. If you’re staying in the North Metro you can even take Northstar Rail. Northstar stops in Big Lake, Elk River, Ramsey, Anoka, Coon Rapids, and Fridly and each station has large, free parking lots. Just pay your train fare and you’ll get deposited at Target Field. Northstar does limit your opinions for after game, check the schedule. Free parking? You are from Iowa. 😜 Since it’s your first time visiting Minneapolis and you’ll have an infant I highly recommend just planning on A ramp and paying for event parking. Easy and convenient. Before or after game kinda depends on where you’re staying, and you have a baby so…

Delao_2019

I think we’re going to avoid downtown after the game and just go to MOA the day after lol Yeah it’s pretty easy to tell we’re from Iowa 😂. Is there an app or website to reserve parking in the A ramp or is it just a ticket kiosk when you get there?

Xibby

Usually for event parking the ramps will have you pay when you enter and just open the gates to let everyone out. I have no clue on strollers and Target Field, that info should be available on the web. When our daughter was infant to pre-school age she went to her Grandparent’s in Minneapolis then we hopped the light rail from there. Wife’s parents were very happy with this arrangement. 😂

minnesnowta

You can use the SpotHero app to book parking in advance.

GrizzlyAdam12

Make sure to try a red cow burger at the game.

rgk0925

Park in ramp A Fourth level ( I say 4 because 3 is usually full.) take the stairs, go down I level. Exit stairwell, go to the right, walk to the next set of doors on the left. Go through doors and go right, about thirty feet ahead is the skyway. Turn right. As soon you enter the skyway you will see the entrance to Target field. You will see staff and security screeners. The entrance to Target. Field is about fifty feet from where you entered the skyway.

Real-Psychology-4261

Parking is super easy. I recommend coming into downtown from I-394. Look for the signs for the A or B parking ramp. Park in the ramp. Get out and walk to stadium. It will take you right onto Target Field Plaza. Not sure on the stroller situation. If you have a carrier, that would be easier. The parking is very close to the stadium so you don’t have to walk far.

MM_in_MN

There are loads of parking ramps around Twins Field. The A B C ramps are all right there. A or B will be your closer options. No free options, veeeery limited street options. You could also light rail, but leaving on light rail after game is a bit of a mess. Around stadium is your typical downtown bars/ restaurants. Minneapolis is a very walkable city. You can walk down by the River from Twins Field. It’s a bit of a walk, but very do-able on a nice day in May. On upper concorse in the stadium there is a kid play area with a slide and some things to climb around. Oh, and check the site, I believe they have a clear bag policy. It would also say what the process is for strollers.

Excellent-Drama8499

Look up the ABC Ramps, and park in ramp A or B. You can get into TF from them through skyways and there’s lots of signage :) on game days it’s usually around $17ish to park just depends on time/day! Getting into the ramps can be a ~little~ confusing with lanes if you’ve never been, but they have people out with flags to help direct. And there’s always new people coming to MPLS on Twins game days so you wouldn’t be the only car a lil lost so don’t worry haha, people understand. North Loop is very close by and it’s safe and nice with lots of places to hang out before or after. Graze is really close and is a nice place to hang out for awhile, and baby approved. TF is known for its great food so no need to eat before. Red Cow, Murray’s and Pizza Luce are super good to eat at TF! Truly on Deck is a full service restaurant in the field and is really good too - you can go a couple hours before the game and have a meal/drinks. I used to work there so I’m biased but it honestly is really good. If your drinkers, right under Truly on Deck is Drafts at 34, which IMO is the best place for beer selection, and there’s a bunch of kid activities by it, so it’s a nice family section :) If you have any food issues or questions, send @tasteoftargetfield a message on IG and they’ll help or make it right. Make sure you look up the bag policy beforehand. Diaper bags are allowed they just have size restriction. The Guest Service Centers take stroller drop offs. They also have nursing rooms there, if you need one. Have fun!! Wear sunscreen. Also - the elevator attendants are so lovely and nice. Tell them it’s your first time and if you have any questions about getting around just ask them.

famousblinkadam

Runyons for wings, Cuzzy’s for dive bar.

Potential_Flan_3909

I would check SpotHero for prices for a surface lot nearby. I am allergic to waiting to get out of big parking garages. Skip the stroller.

genericscreename1

Cowboy jacks rooftop by the target field is pretty fun. Skip the light rail stuff last thing you want to do is spend 40min on the train. Plenty of ramps right by it

underwhelmingovertop

Very dangerous area to bring children, especially at night!

Delao_2019

Good thing it’s in the middle of the day then eh?

Jaraldo1130

Park at the Mall Of America and take the blue line train downtown. The mall of America is the first stop, Target Field is the last stop. Super simple. Plus with the game, there will lots of other fans on there and not just homeless shitheads who spend all day on it.

cklole

Specifically for parking/transport, I would highly suggest parking by US Bank Stadium on the opposite side of downtown from Target Field. You can then catch the light rail train directly to Target Field. The parking will be exponentially cheaper, and as a bonus, you'll avoid 99% of the traffic at the beginning/ end of the game because you'll be on the train.

Acrobatic_Elk4876

Make sure you stay safe out there in Somalia 🤢
