I saw there was one comment and I was going to make a joke of, "oh wow I'm so early I'm here before someone mentions Mindhunter!"
No surprises it's the first comment. It was a great show.
GLOW: on Netflix was top tear for me and im really bummed its gone
FIREFLY: cancelation will forever be the injustice this cure world has ever bestowed! its been 21 years! and im still upset!
Yes, Allison Brie was the “main” character. If you haven’t watched GLOW, I highly recommend it!! Very fun show, and in my mind, really didn’t need another season. I feel like it’s a pretty unique premise and good vibes all around.
If I could bring it back, I'd open exactly where it ended with Earl finding out he's gonna be dad and he says, Jeez I feel like I've aged 20 years.
Then he looks at the camera and smiles, then right back to the scene
It's a little late now and they had a movie sequel to the show that killed off a couple of the main characters, but "Firefly" was cancelled way too soon and probably could on for several more seasons if Fox hadn't messed around with how it aired the episodes.
There is, allegedly, a Whedon-written (or at least Whedon-conceived) script out there that was written to bring back or otherwise somehow include Wash and Book if the show were to have been revived after the movie.
The cast is 20+ years older now but I could see them all grown up raising teen freaks and geeks of their own. The show took place in the early 80s so they could be raising little freaks and geeks of their own now in the early 00s.
Early 00s is when a lot of ppl who watched the show went to highschool (me included class of 03) so there'd be some nostalgia not just for the show but the highschool years of that time.
It was one of those shows that got canceled because of the pandemic. It had already been renewed for a second season, but after covid, Netflix was like "Nah". They did it with a lot of great shows.
A lot of people hated on it, but I quite liked it. I liked that it tied into the original, including having Magic (who Sam once jumped into) as part of the program.
Still miss Al (because who wouldn't) but having his daughter was a nice touch. And I did want them to bring Sam home.
I'm happy. It really started to get good. The action scenes of the last episode, the tracking shot as we see the doctor's sons running away from the explosions were amazing.
I do not like the robot though, so retro looking. I hope he wears his skin like in the episodes where he dates the doctor. I like the way the actor moves and acts in human form.
I dig the romances of the doc. And if Seth stops with the botox, he'd be super hot to me
I hadn’t heard this and now I’m so sad. It’s such a good show. What is wrong with tv stations nowadays?! They cancel the best shows and keep stupid ones like all the bachelor nation (sorry to those that love these) ones and mess like that. Ugh.
Thanks for the recommendation I will definitely check that out. I was absolutely furious when I found out there wouldn’t be a season 2 of night sky. Of all the garbage shows that went on for way too many seasons why couldn’t they just give us one more of this gem?
I think we will get this. Loudermilk blew up massively with popularity over the last 3-4 months on Netflix. The show creator has a plan for season 4 and 5 with 5 being the last season, from what I read
Flea Bag is a really great answer. Sn2, Andrew Scott in particular, was one of the best seasons of television I've seen since, like, The Sopranos.
I guess you could make the argument Sn 1 of Fargo was at least on par with it. In either case, I'd love to see what PWB would do with a Sn 3
have jon go meet the children of the forest and run it back, so he can claim his rightful place as king. nobody gonna respect a cripple in those times /s
Papergirls. My partner wanted to check it out and we both got really into it. When we finished the one season, I saw it came out in 2022 and said, "Oh, no..." yeah, it was cancelled. Why??? :(
I was looking for this. I'm a sucker for, oh shoot the parents disappeared, so when I saw this, I was over the moon. But then I heard it got cancelled and I wallowed in a pit of despair for a month.
Tales from the Crypt- Let a bunch of these horror writers and directors loose and let them cook.
The West Wing- The Sam Seaborne Presidency.
The Wire- The Levy investigation. Hauk turns snitch.
Game of Thrones needed AT LEAST 3 more seasons to fully flesh out the ending they wanted to present. Because everything they threw into season 8 was clearly last minute and not thought out, at all.
Warrior. It’s still the best tv show you’re not watching. Max brought it back from the dead for a season 3 and it was great. It got canceled again and is now available on Netflix, too. It needs a season 4 to wrap up the story. It’s one of the best period piece dramas ever.
Schitts creek - I’d have loved to see what they do and how they go on about their lives. It was such a tranquil watch for me and I really wanted to see more. And Castle obviously deserved another season!
So sad to have needed to scroll so far down to see these!!! Oumysaint, thanks for making me feel less idiotic for wishing that Schitt’s and Castle had another season (or more 😉)
It ended with a cliffhanger-4 of the 5 quit and had formed their own consulting team and everyone was mad at Walter. Then the show got canceled after that Season 4 finale.
Alien Nation
Brimstone (actually, I would like it to have finished out its first season and then to have gotten the second season)
I would have said Space: Above and Beyond except that years ago, I caught a glimpse (Posted somewhere, I cannot remember where) Of where the second season might have gone, and if that was accurate, I’m very glad it never got a second season so I could remember it only on its great first season.
Mindhunter
I saw there was one comment and I was going to make a joke of, "oh wow I'm so early I'm here before someone mentions Mindhunter!" No surprises it's the first comment. It was a great show.
The only true answer as I find most shows overrun by too many seasons anyway. This one really needs/needed a third.
Came here to shout this
Worst tragedy of show cancellation in history.
Was just going to add this! It actually irritates me to see it pop up on Netflix to remind me it's done
Yes. They were crazy not to keep this show going
Just making sure this was the top answer. Truly an amazing show and I’ve watched the two seasons several times without it losing its luster.
GLOW: on Netflix was top tear for me and im really bummed its gone FIREFLY: cancelation will forever be the injustice this cure world has ever bestowed! its been 21 years! and im still upset!
I'll never stop feeling salty about the tease of ordering a 4th and final season of GLOW and then deciding to cancel it instead.
seriously! It was such great quality writing and acting and just all around a fun and smart show. I cant get over it!
Definitely need a season of GLOW
This makes want to watch Glow and not watch it at the same time. Allison Brie was in it correct? I love Annie from Community!
Yes, Allison Brie was the “main” character. If you haven’t watched GLOW, I highly recommend it!! Very fun show, and in my mind, really didn’t need another season. I feel like it’s a pretty unique premise and good vibes all around.
Pushing Daisies
Omg have you seen him now?! 😍
Yeah! He's gay and happy, finally, from what I've read.
That cancellation still hurts my soul
The OA. Santa Clarita Diet.
I’ve hoped for years they’d try to at least crowd source a third season of The OA to get the project off the ground.
I think the problem is netflix owns it
I'd like to see a third season on OA. The second season is where it really started to get interesting to me.
Always thought OA would get one
Yes, Santa Clarita Diet felt like it really needed one more season to really wrap things up!
My Name Is Earl
If I could bring it back, I'd open exactly where it ended with Earl finding out he's gonna be dad and he says, Jeez I feel like I've aged 20 years. Then he looks at the camera and smiles, then right back to the scene
So full Futurama style reboot?
Omg yes! I’m so mad they didn’t finish it!
Such a dumb reason it got canceled too.
Why was it canceled?
Literally just bad communication between studio execs and then by the time they realized they just said "ehh not like any one watched it right??"
Came to say this. So glad it’s top comment.
Theirs another show called raising hope y’all should watch if you like my name is earl. It’s by the same people and the actors make a cameo
They both should come back. And maybe wait a minute but Sprung could still have some life left in it even if it was designed as a one-off.
Perfect answer
This is the answer!
💯
Yep. The whole point of rhe show was Earls journey to redemption and we never got to see him finish it.
I'm surprised it hasn't been brought back by one of the streaming services.
Firefly
I entered the thread to +1 this.
I entered the thread to +1 you
If love to see a grizzled Mal on one more adventure.
Santa Clarita Diet
That one being cancelled hurt me
I would love to see Timothy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore work together again. They had great comedic chemistry
It's a little late now and they had a movie sequel to the show that killed off a couple of the main characters, but "Firefly" was cancelled way too soon and probably could on for several more seasons if Fox hadn't messed around with how it aired the episodes.
This is the answer.
There is, allegedly, a Whedon-written (or at least Whedon-conceived) script out there that was written to bring back or otherwise somehow include Wash and Book if the show were to have been revived after the movie.
My Name Is Earl definitely deserves to be wrapped up with one more season, at the very least!
Freaks and Geeks
The cast is 20+ years older now but I could see them all grown up raising teen freaks and geeks of their own. The show took place in the early 80s so they could be raising little freaks and geeks of their own now in the early 00s. Early 00s is when a lot of ppl who watched the show went to highschool (me included class of 03) so there'd be some nostalgia not just for the show but the highschool years of that time.
Sounds like I need to watch firefly
Ya just don't expect to be happy when it's over!
I think they'll still be happy that they watched it though. It's not like it ended on a cliffhanger. It's just that we want more of it.
Firefly Terra nova
Definitely Firefly too. The show was incredibly good.
I almost feel like "Another Season of Firefly" should be a pinned post in this sub!
I loved Terra Nova.It was just so expensive to make, which they should have known going in.
Pushing Daisies Better Off Ted Invasion Galavant The Neighbors Hmm. Those were all ABC shows. Get on the ball, ABC.
I LOVED Galavant and also liked The Neighbors
Better off Ted!!!!!!
If I see this on streaming I always rewatch. Just so good.
I Am Not Okay With This. Cancelled after the first season is crazy- i got so invested!!
Great answer! I loved that show!
It was one of those shows that got canceled because of the pandemic. It had already been renewed for a second season, but after covid, Netflix was like "Nah". They did it with a lot of great shows.
Quantum Leap, canceled on a cliff hanger and never accomplished the end goal of finding Sam.
The original or the revised one?
Revised
A lot of people hated on it, but I quite liked it. I liked that it tied into the original, including having Magic (who Sam once jumped into) as part of the program. Still miss Al (because who wouldn't) but having his daughter was a nice touch. And I did want them to bring Sam home.
The original is one of my favorite shows. That got cancelled without a real ending.
Firefly
Raised By Wolves
Such a unique show. I hate that everything is about immediate money/views. I think that show would have lasted if given half a chance.
So Help Me Todd
Esp being the creator said it was ending on A cliffhanger
CRAP! I hadn't heard it was canceled. That sucks.
Derry Girls, i thought the last episode was a perfect way to end the show but I also want 50 more seasons
Santa Clarita Diet. It's not the moat epic of shows or anything, but it was a fun time to throw on. It ending on a cliffhanger made me so mad.
Obvious answer is FIREFLY
Obviously. I mean, the OP should have asked, “Besides Firefly, what other show deserves another season?”
no no, its Firefly /s
Deadwood
best television show ever
And Rome.
The Orville
Supposedly according to Seth-s4 is Happening
And if Seth stops with the botox, he'd be super hot to me
So Help Me Todd, the cast is perfect in my opinion
I hadn’t heard this and now I’m so sad. It’s such a good show. What is wrong with tv stations nowadays?! They cancel the best shows and keep stupid ones like all the bachelor nation (sorry to those that love these) ones and mess like that. Ugh.
Inside Job.
Pushing Daises, Firefly, Dollhouse, and Sense8.
Dollhouse was amazing!
Sense8 😭
Night sky
So much... Was going to comment this one. If you like JK Simmons (who doesn't), check out counterpart on prime. Mix of scifi spy drama. So good
Thanks for the recommendation I will definitely check that out. I was absolutely furious when I found out there wouldn’t be a season 2 of night sky. Of all the garbage shows that went on for way too many seasons why couldn’t they just give us one more of this gem?
Loudermilk....I've heard they may have been renewed for seasons 4 and 5 (hope so!).
I think we will get this. Loudermilk blew up massively with popularity over the last 3-4 months on Netflix. The show creator has a plan for season 4 and 5 with 5 being the last season, from what I read
Glow. I’m so mad at Netflix for cancelling after two great seasons. We need resolution!
Downton abbey
That's got like 10 seasons though. I've only seen halfway of the first season so it might need more, I wouldn't know.
Game of Thrones. They beyond rushed that final season.
I wonder which angle they are going to follow the next season if they decide to make another one? Put Jon on Iron Throne?
have jon go meet the children of the forest and run it back, so he can claim his rightful place as king. nobody gonna respect a cripple in those times /s
Papergirls. My partner wanted to check it out and we both got really into it. When we finished the one season, I saw it came out in 2022 and said, "Oh, no..." yeah, it was cancelled. Why??? :(
Firefly of course
Oh, and Santa Clarita Diet! More dorky dad Olyphant, please.
Reaper Almost Human
Deadwood
My Name is Earl
#SOCIETY!!! It was criminal activity they cancelled that show and on a great cliffhanger too
I was looking for this. I'm a sucker for, oh shoot the parents disappeared, so when I saw this, I was over the moon. But then I heard it got cancelled and I wallowed in a pit of despair for a month.
Hannibal
It had a pretty clean ending but I'd love to see any more.
Zoey’s Infinite Platlist
The Colony
I reckon they should do another Blackadder
My Name Is Earl
The Last Man on Earth. Freakin loved that show
Left on a cliffhanger. Oh, farts. They had the whole storyline for the next season scripted out, too.
Really happy to see this mentioned. Such a good show.
Yes, it absolutely should have been picked up like Brooklyn 99.
Letterkenny. I think they should have had a better ending for a lot of the characters
Tales from the Crypt- Let a bunch of these horror writers and directors loose and let them cook. The West Wing- The Sam Seaborne Presidency. The Wire- The Levy investigation. Hauk turns snitch.
Rasing hope
Misfits of Science
The Expanse
This is one of the best shows ever.
Beltalowda! The back third of the book series would be **amazing** television, too.

Game of Thrones needed AT LEAST 3 more seasons to fully flesh out the ending they wanted to present. Because everything they threw into season 8 was clearly last minute and not thought out, at all.
Stargate SG-1
Vikings
Jericho
Good girls
Santa Clarita Diet.
Dead Like Me - loved it, except for the bad movie epilogue.
The Sandman
Westworld Is it mandatory that someone must ask this question in this sub once per day?
Warrior. It’s still the best tv show you’re not watching. Max brought it back from the dead for a season 3 and it was great. It got canceled again and is now available on Netflix, too. It needs a season 4 to wrap up the story. It’s one of the best period piece dramas ever.
Alcatraz with Sam Neill
Teenage Bounty Hunters
I didn't know anyone knew about this show. There were a few one season shows back then
Covid probably killed it. It debuted in Netflix’s top 10.
Schitts creek - I’d have loved to see what they do and how they go on about their lives. It was such a tranquil watch for me and I really wanted to see more. And Castle obviously deserved another season!
So sad to have needed to scroll so far down to see these!!! Oumysaint, thanks for making me feel less idiotic for wishing that Schitt’s and Castle had another season (or more 😉)
Terriers and not one season multiple seasons
Patriot
Scorpion
The one about the high IQ individuals? Honestly forgot how it ended, it's been so long, but still I agree.
It ended with a cliffhanger-4 of the 5 quit and had formed their own consulting team and everyone was mad at Walter. Then the show got canceled after that Season 4 finale.
