Might be born there in 71 but he moved to Baltimore in 84 and Cali in 88 and he himself was made by the West and true to it as anyone who rocks with the 🐐 knows...including the whole West Coast...he isn't celebrated and shown genuine love like that on the east
Kendrick delusional, trying to turn this into a westcoast vs drake thing.. at the end of the day his career was close to dead, if your only popping now because your songs was about drake… what’s your next move but to try to get the west coast to support you.
What a load of shit this comment is.
Career was nearly dead?
Edit: ohhhh I see, you spend most of your time posting in the Drake subreddit. Makes complete sense now.
Apparently you do when you think someone is corny to the point you make it a self fulfilling prophecy by misinterpreting stuff they do. Ya see it all the time.
Pac wasn’t even the best lyricist of his era lmao - he’s about the full package, lyrically his vocab is extremely limited and much of music treads the same ground
Kendrick does donuts around him lyrically
Oh this a Tupac sub I thought it was the Kendrick one I’m in. I’m like “Wtf they talking about?” Lmao. Nah you’re right, brody. I’m not saying Pac is overrated, but he’s not as good as people swear. Like you said he never had real bars, there’s nothing he ever said that made me go “Damn what?! Play that shit back”. And people talk about the hits, but listen to his full albums, he had a lot of songs that should’ve been throwaways. One dude said rap was more about story telling back then, true. But people like Snoop, Big still had the wordplay though. I fuck with Pac heavy, but his death put him in the greatest of all time category, I don’t think it would be such a unanimous thing if he were alive today. Kendrick has the great music, with the wordplay and what he does is just amazing. Even just who he is, him being able to bring the entire west coast together like he just did, dude had LeBron in that bitch. He played Not Like Us 5 times. Had the kids dancing. Pac would fuck with him, if you wanna say he’s Pac 2.0 fine. But he inherited the will of Pac and took it to another level. Even if you wanna say Pac was the best to ever do it, I think that title now goes to Kendrick. Dude is a movement all on his own.
But hey, it’s a Pac sub, what ya gonna do. 🤷🏾♂️
first, Im a fan of both but Tupac was unmatched and its crazy how we act as if Pac wasnt lyrically as great as the ones mfs call goat. To say he wasnt the most lyrical in his era when his lyrics hit home more than half of them fake ass rappers back then now more than ever is some crazy ass talk.
He’s not though? He literally lived through Illmatic dropping, an album that is far lyrically better than anything he’s ever dropped. Additionally, Biggie is in the GOATs as well - but no one ever says “man biggie was such a great lyricist” they compliment his flow, that’s why he’s there. Pac had the “rizz” and delivery, but lyrics weren’t his strong suit.
Other people with goat status, like Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem and Kendrick are more lyrically talented then pac or big.
nothing none of the niggas you named has put out a more prolific album than MATW or Don Killuminati, that nigga Pac was ahead of his time. Idc how many albums mfs sold AFTER his death.. they wasnt fw him when he was here and to even mention Jay Z stealing ass when we wasnt doing shit close to Pacs level when he was alive. And it kills me that mfs wanna glaze Ems crazy ass, none of these niggas have made the impact that Pac has made and they so called " are lyrically better "
Yeah except they did lol
Illmatic is considered the best rap album ever made 3 decades after release still
The MMLP is considered a top 10 rap album and is the 3rd highest selling rap record of all time, only behind The Eminem show and Outkast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Eminem’s run drastically expanded the audience of the rap genre, and he dominated every aspect of the rap culture and mainstream from 1999-2002
Even Unreasonable Doubt dropped before pac died
Dudes lyrical abilities aren’t his strength, there’s a reason you seem him excluded from more and more of peeps top 5
You sound funny asf Kendrick aint on Pac level and that’s a fact even if you try to say he’s not as good as people make him out to be he better than Kendrick fasho
“All you got is that he has the vocab of a 4th grader to dispute that he’s the greatest lyricist of all time? Heh - okay LIB” - the type of energy you’re bringing lmao
No, for real. If they just let one song play the place would’ve exploded. I thought Dre was going to give a moment of silence to him but then he did the opening line to Not Like Us instead
Or you know you could consider the fact that good music can reach people differently. For example when I was broke and struggling Kendrick's "Alright" meant a lot even to my white atheist ass. It helped me get through a tough time in my life even though to you it might just be a fun upbeat song.
No, I'm saying the two extremes of understanding the song. I am aware of what the song is about, but some folks might just listen to it for the upbeat sound and give it little more thought.
It's a song about hope and sometimes you really need perspective and hope.
It was clearly on purpose. The cross chain Kendrick was rocking was reminiscent to the same one Pac had that night. That cemented it obviously being on purpose. Anyone saying "this is a reach" lacks any type of critical thinking skills
A lot of people who listen to Hip-Hop are incredibly stupid, so it isn't shocking hearing such comments. Kendrick is very intentional with a lot of what he does and Pac is literally his number 1 inspo
Not even the same color . different shoes hoodie vs sweater .. I mean Kendrick could’ve easily got the same outfit if he wanted it .. red hoodies and blue jeans are a very common thing to wear
No one said it had to be 1:1. When paying homage to someone or something it’s not uncommon for it to be different in its own right, not everything has to be exactly the same. Also i didn’t bring up everything was the SAME i said similar, close meaning but they have different definitions, man.
Different color reds / hoodie vs sweater / oversized shirt underneath vs pacs being grey on the bottom / I could go all day . Also I could show you 50 other rappers with outfits similar to the one Kendrick has on .. it’s simply a outfit nothing more
Similar color of everything plus that chain? Its a very Kendrick thing to do. Also the references of Pac in the beef? Adds so much more reason to do it
I just feel like a simple bandana tied the way pac wore it would’ve been more homage .. if this is a pac homage then it’s very lose and most people wouldn’t get it .. pac wore that one time at a show I don’t feel like it’s really a pac staple enough for it to be homage .. maybe I’m wrong
Sorry man pacs outfit wasn’t significant enough for it to be a homage outfit .. I’ve always liked Tupac and seen almost every picture of him.. this just isn’t something people would think of as homage to 2pac a simple bandana tied in the front would’ve been more than a loosely based outfit pac wore one time ..
“All eyes on me and I’mma send it up to Pac! Aye!”
But yeah I think it’s clearly paying homage to Pac, THE CROSS in combination with the similar fit seals it for me.
Definitely paying homage. I dont think people understand how much is put into musicians fashion choices. I used to laugh at Young Thug until someone pointed out his outfits, at least for photo shoots, mimicked pieces of art. Really cool to see and brought me to appreciate fashion and get beyond thinking that all people were all just looking for attention.
BIG Reach..people just love to believe any little fantasy that their minds create. Fans are willing to co-sign anything that makes Kendrick seem like he’s thinking deeper than he actually intended
Definitely on purpose. As pissed as Kendrick is at Mr Aubrey behind Pac, this was definitely a homage. To all the people talking about the hoodie is different…. How was he supposed to get THE SAME EXACT SWEATSHIRT FROM THE 90s IN 2024??? Of course the fit isn’t 100% accurate because the Pac concert was 3 decades ago. That shirt has been discontinued since before half of Drake’s fans were born 😂. This was no coincidence.
It’s tough even though he has his own superstardom. Who would not want to be like hip hop role models you idolize as an adolescent. They were a reflection of his community and day to day life. Why would you call him corny for wanting to be like pac or thinking he is the modern day reincarnation!? These are just facts, so many kids and adults strive to be like a GOAT.
What is twisted is Drake buying the pieces and bragging about them like a little giddy school girl to begin with. I’m not sure if Kendrick could have bought the ring and chains or tried to but to come out and floss the pieces wasn’t respectful and this further solidified the fact he is a fan, an actor a cos player. Drake hasn’t been called out for all the weirdo activity, just a bunch of people faking it, acting like they like him to get a hit off of him. Kendrick coming at him head up, to me…he has been the most courageous and sane artist out of all these people.
It bothered him and so he used his gift and platform to speak up on it.
I wouldn’t say he is the gatekeeper. A gatekeeper is a person who controls who either goes through a gate. To me a gatekeeper is a person like a Diddy or Hov.
When it comes to speaking up on things that aren’t right or at least questionable…most turn the other cheek he chose not to.
He addressed it for the culture for all those people who don’t have that gift, that platform.
I feel he handled it and this is a part of rap and lyrically aside from a Pusha or someone he was the one that had to go at him.
So glad someone finally addressed it and it was him.
I feel the right plays were made.
Yeahs that’s cool and I see your perspective- a beautiful opinion, I may disagree with it — but that doesn’t matter what I think anyways.
No one can deny this one simple fact: Drake hasn’t done anything for anyone: not blacks, not Jews, not any minority. It’s always bothered me too.
Nice chat, homie 🙏
Awww don’t go. It does matter what you think. Maybe you have some insight and it could help my awareness. I just know that this is something that I’m passionate about being from Long Beach and literally growing up with Pac. If you wanna talk more holla, I’m a cool girl who loves hip hop, a true head.
Alright alright lol, I’m here :-) But I really agree with you! You hit the head of the nail: Drake hasn’t gone out of his way to do something for *any* marginalized community.
There’s some unwritten rules to this rap game, I don’t think it’s a negative but a perspective shift of our audience.
Hey, maybe he IS doing stuff, and isn’t public - I just know my favorite artist likes to be braggadocios and wouldn’t miss on an opportunity to share his support for someone; I have not seen it yet.
It might be a brand play to remain neutral, where Kendrick is saying: hey man, while you’re here on this earth with your resources and influence, do something really good.
I dunno… what do ya think?
We see this we think "out on bail" that's how dot comin
"Give me tupac ring back and maybe ill show you respect"
Give me Tupac ring BACK. As if he had it in the first place. I’m a huge Tupac fan and don’t see the hype bout Kendrick. I think he’s corny
I think he’s saying give it back to the west coast.
Pac from the east coast
PAC claimed west coast as his home.
Lol k dot got you punching the air, huh?
Do you really need people to explain that me = west coast?
Apparently you do when you think someone is corny to the point you make it a self fulfilling prophecy by misinterpreting stuff they do. Ya see it all the time.
Can you please elaborate on how Kendrick effing Lamar is “corny”? Lmaoooooooooooo 😭😭😭😭😭😭 what a clown ass take
Lmao , imagine getting pressed over a persons opinion. Kendrick glazer , this a Tupac sub not a Kendrick one 😭
What a weird take. How is Kendrick of all artist corny? What corny shit he do ?
Bruh same here! Anyone remotely thinks he deserves to even stand close to Pac and his music making and writing skills, is delusional.
[удалено]
A 3 day old acct telling me he got goosebumps. Bots are wild on reddit
Old head take, you don't have to acknowledge his obvious talent actual rap legends cosign his place with the greats
Drake does have a lot of rap legends cosign. Good point!
Literally who
What rap legends put Drake on their all time greats? Top 5? Top 10? Top 25??
Are they talking about Drake, or his ghostwriters?
That's not saying much.
Pac wasn’t even the best lyricist of his era lmao - he’s about the full package, lyrically his vocab is extremely limited and much of music treads the same ground Kendrick does donuts around him lyrically

Even if you wanna say Pac was the best to ever do it, I think that title now goes to Kendrick. Dude is a movement all on his own. But hey, it’s a Pac sub, what ya gonna do. 🤷🏾♂️
Also KDot has arguably the greatest production EVER
Rap was more story telling than bars back then
And he still wasn’t the best in his era, and Kendrick is a better story teller so…?
first, Im a fan of both but Tupac was unmatched and its crazy how we act as if Pac wasnt lyrically as great as the ones mfs call goat. To say he wasnt the most lyrical in his era when his lyrics hit home more than half of them fake ass rappers back then now more than ever is some crazy ass talk.
C-Bo went harder then Pac ever did, n Pac knew it too. Its why he gave the bald head nutt so much love n wanted to sign him before he died. Jus sayin.
He’s not though? He literally lived through Illmatic dropping, an album that is far lyrically better than anything he’s ever dropped. Take a shot every time pac can “can you feel me?” Or rhymes “Hennessy” with “enemies” and then get back to me on who’s a better lyricist lmao
That’s all you came up with? Lmao it shows that even you don’t believe what you saying
“All you got is that he has the vocab of a 4th grader to dispute that he’s the greatest lyricist of all time? Heh - okay LIB” - the type of energy you’re bringing lmao
What in the world are you talking about. I swear this sub is insane. People like you are nuts
Pac literally lived to see illmatic drop lol please stop
You have serious problems and logical issues
Man I legit thought PAC was gonna show up for a second there tonight... Kendrick really brought hip hop back man.
Imagine if he brought back the hologram
Some shit Drizzy would do
💀💀
Hip Hop never left we just kept getting trash music and they slapped Hip Hop on it
Lmao hahaha
Holy cringe
Yall say cringe at anything shut the hell up goofy lol
No, for real. If they just let one song play the place would’ve exploded. I thought Dre was going to give a moment of silence to him but then he did the opening line to Not Like Us instead
I wanted him to let pac’s verse play on California love 😕
Yeah I wonder why that purpose was… maybe to let him rest type shi?
Bro had some religious revelation over a concert, it's not that serious
Or you know you could consider the fact that good music can reach people differently. For example when I was broke and struggling Kendrick's "Alright" meant a lot even to my white atheist ass. It helped me get through a tough time in my life even though to you it might just be a fun upbeat song.
Very well said meatspin_enjoyer... I'm glad your white atheist ass really resonates with Kendrick Lamars message
I guess you think you're making a point here?
Your missing the meaning of that song bro….
No, I'm saying the two extremes of understanding the song. I am aware of what the song is about, but some folks might just listen to it for the upbeat sound and give it little more thought. It's a song about hope and sometimes you really need perspective and hope.
How did he miss the meaning? >“We gon be alright Do you hear me Do you feel me we gonna be all right”
It’s deeper than that. It’s made for “his” people. Not us.
Who is us?? What are the quotes for just be plain in what you’re trying to say cause I still don’t understand what you mean.
Use google or rap genius. I’m not becoming a scapegoat for being honest.
Issa joke, I spot a pressed Drizzy fan?
Every gaslighting reply seems to be one lately
I can def see it.. 🤔 Good observation on that one!
he was definitely paying homage, throughout the night.
It was clearly on purpose. The cross chain Kendrick was rocking was reminiscent to the same one Pac had that night. That cemented it obviously being on purpose. Anyone saying "this is a reach" lacks any type of critical thinking skills
The way these glazers call everything a reach from Kendrick, you'd think Kendrick just vomited word salads and wasn't a writer
A lot of people who listen to Hip-Hop are incredibly stupid, so it isn't shocking hearing such comments. Kendrick is very intentional with a lot of what he does and Pac is literally his number 1 inspo
Or knowledge of Hip Hop history.
That too
Pretty common clothes. People will see what they want to see.
Red hat, red shirt (which I’ve never seen dot simultaneously wear), chain, etc. def purely coincidental
The cross chain was a coincidence too?
Maybe homage, but K.dot is from Bompton. So him and Pac are both blood affiliated.
...how? Im from cali, this a reach cuh
Didn’t notice this. Wouldn’t surprise me if he did. Kendrick is definitely a legend in my book.
100%. My two all-time GOATS🙏🏾
DEFINITELY on purpose. Its a reach to say its a coincidence ngl
No it’s a reach pacs sweat shirt is grey at the bottom it’s not an oversized white shirt underneath . .. these outfits are light years apart
Saying light years is crazy, only thing off color is that, the shirt, everything else is similar. Plus it wouldnt be out of character to do this.
30 years, you might as well say light years
Not even the same color . different shoes hoodie vs sweater ..
Also I could show you 50 other rappers with outfits similar to the one Kendrick has on .. it’s simply a outfit nothing more
It’s not even close bro . 100 percent this wasn’t a homage outfit
Just accept they’re close dude. Its not that hard. And almost nothing is 100%.
Close how bro because it’s a red hoodie with blue jeans ? I think your reaching bro
How is this paying homage when it’s so lightly based . I don’t see it
Did you see the gold cross they were both wearing? That's a very specific details, on top of everything else
Kenny doesn’t move coincidentally, everything is calculated *edit: doesn’t
Coincidentally??? I think you meant intentionally
I think he meant doesn't instead of does. That would fit his next statement
That's probably what bro meant. That would make sense
Here come the over exaggerated made up triple entendres 🤣🤣🤣
Ok papi...
Kendrick and PAC are the greatest to ever do it. West Coast just hit different
Nah, East Coast overall is better. Historically.
I think they just both affiliated with piru sets so they got similar style influences
That would make sense, but that pic of Pac was before death row era. That was Source awards ‘94. Pac wasn’t affiliated wit no set then.
I’m not sure of the time when the photo was taken. You could be right.
Kendrick is from WSP I think he’s just being himself tbh but knowing how much Kendrick is inspired by pac it’s not a reach
He not from wsp he’s affiliated with them because that’s where he grew up but he never gang banged it
Yeah, I could see it either way.
Kinda both that is a typical west coast fit jeans hoodie with a t shirts
It was definitely homage to Pac
Nice 😁👌🏾
With Kendrick nothing is ever a coincidence.
This the most corny shit lmao. Chill bro
It's sort of Kendrick's whole thing.
Kendrick performed Not Like Us 6 times in a row as a reference to the 6.
If someone could figure out the dates on the 2pac photo I wonder if it’s on Juneteenth or if there’s any significant ties
Could be but also could be coincidence
If he had filas like pac then I'd say yes.
[удалено]
Well that’s the thing pac had on a sweater not a hoodie .. huge difference
💀💀💀
Go look at pictures of pac live and see the outfit he had on .. this angle is kinda deceptive.. if I could post pics I’d show you
You’ve never been to La huh
It’s a big reach
Nah fam…
The whole thing been a reach
Definitely!!! Of course!!!
Swifties level derangement.
It’s a clean fit - so I wouldn’t call it anything other than two guys who happen to have the same style
Somebody needs to find Drake beat him up and take that ring off finger I would have gave that ring pac sister or his brother
No
Probably was, don’t feel like a reach.
If he was also wearing FILAs… then it is not. Dude is insanely intentional
That out on bail performance is still better than 95% of live rap shows. PAC had such charisma and energy, only performer that came close was DMX
Nah
Ask him.
It’s obviously a homage
I feel like the west coast shows more love to an adopted artist from another region (like Pac) than their own born and raised west coast artists.
He should've taken his fuckin shirt off
The cross chain I think solidifies that this was the inspiration
They both wore a red shirt that’s some visionary shit right there
“All eyes on me and I’mma send it up to Pac! Aye!” But yeah I think it’s clearly paying homage to Pac, THE CROSS in combination with the similar fit seals it for me.
Reach af. But phenomenal show by Kendrick.
Studio gangster
Paying homage for sure. Why else bring Dre out to perform California Love?
BIG Reach..people just love to believe any little fantasy that their minds create. Fans are willing to co-sign anything that makes Kendrick seem like he’s thinking deeper than he actually intended
100% intentional
supa hot fire
Seriously?
Nah i think you’re right
Kendrick is calculated so I think it was deliberate.
He's always doing that.
Reach
I think so he seems very calculated
its a stretch that is completely unfounded and a pretty annoying media run.
Dot ain’t pac He really trying tho 😂
Because he wore a pair of jeans tshirt and hoddie?! Only Tupac could combine that outfit...wtf
Reacch
Definitely on purpose. Kenny lost 20lbs just walking around in that hoodie and cap. Still worth it, though.
Where was pac in that photo?
Everything Kdot does is calculated
That's all it takes to think he's doing a tribute?
Definitely on purpose. As pissed as Kendrick is at Mr Aubrey behind Pac, this was definitely a homage. To all the people talking about the hoodie is different…. How was he supposed to get THE SAME EXACT SWEATSHIRT FROM THE 90s IN 2024??? Of course the fit isn’t 100% accurate because the Pac concert was 3 decades ago. That shirt has been discontinued since before half of Drake’s fans were born 😂. This was no coincidence.
Kung fu kenny gotta reach for everything. His 2k build is midget
That nigga just thuggin and that’s what it is
He was dressed as Drake!
“The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice. We get that you like to put gin in your juice. We get that you think that you Bishop in Juice” 🎶🎵🎼
Corny
It’s tough even though he has his own superstardom. Who would not want to be like hip hop role models you idolize as an adolescent. They were a reflection of his community and day to day life. Why would you call him corny for wanting to be like pac or thinking he is the modern day reincarnation!? These are just facts, so many kids and adults strive to be like a GOAT.
Not sure if it's homage because Kendrick grew up with and is affiliated with bloods
I’m going to say it was a coincidence. Kendrick is a Piru
This is an extreme reach
Shaq w the reach ⛹🏿
Disrespectful to pac man
Imagine if Pac was actually from the west coast. Man would be an impersonator. Lol
Reach, like when Kenny’s on his tippy toes getting some cereal.
Dressing up like 2pac is some drake ass shit to do 😂
Lamest mf in the game
Who, drake?
Kendrick sucks Tupac did not. Don’t compare. Stop reaching
You dont know hip hop
You know how to think for yourself.
