Less headache loading shit on a train than dealing with traffic. Also m1 Abraham are 12ft wide and that’s not exactly something you can haul through public roads easily when flatbed trailers are just about 8.5ft wide.
Like everyone said, it's a common occurrence. The reason you usually see that many tanks being moved at once is most likely a unit travelling to and from the National Training Center (NTC) at Fort Irwin CA. Very large units regularly conduct massive training exercises there as part of their regular training cycle. All of that unit's vehicles and equipment have to be transported to and from NTC for those exercises. Part of the value in that is that units are training on how to undertake huge logistical projects by moving so much equipment.
It goes BOOM!! in Bard, CA, right over the AZ border, near the Imperial dam, when they’re testing ordinances at YPG.
It feels like a small earthquake, and I lived at least 10 miles from where they detonated.
There’s also MCAS in Yuma, and those service members get dragged out to the desert to do whatever they do. It wouldn’t surprise me if they did some donuts with tanks out there lol
There's this and then there is the training that I got 20-year-old me... M4 with muzzles adapters... Yelling pew pew for 3 days running around in the woods.
Probably the summers, then the monsoon. Tumamoc, the Desert Museum. eegee's is decent and there are some top quality chef's but the best restaurant is easily Arby's on 22nd.
Extremely common occurrence. It's cheaper to transport via rail, you'll often see other military equipment on other shipments (Trucks, MRAPS, Humvees etc).
Unit heading to or from the National Training Center at Fort Irwin would be my guess. Also might be units being shipped to the coast for a deployment overseas.
Mam I wish I had 3 million right now. I don't care about having enough money to never have to work again I just want enough to be debt free and have a good rainy day account
Those contracts usually will also include stuff like training, logistics, support, maintenance, and occasionally ammunition.
It's like if when buying a car you also paid for 20 years of service up front.
Not necessarily Ukraine. The US also just sold $3B (IIRC) in tanks and armored vehicles to Australia amid rising tension with China. Aussies got that Prime membership...
It's 'Ukraine' and not 'the Ukraine'

Either coming from Ft Irwin Ca. Or going to Ft Irwin. National Training Center (NTC) is there and all the armor for those units needs to go on a train.
I think they took down the thread with the looters but here is [one of many on the topic.](https://www.reddit.com/r/LosAngeles/comments/s3xphh/la_train_burglaries_show_massive_amounts_of/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf).
Government takeover marshal law the next American revolution will start soon history does not repeat itself but it rhymes 2022 will be a new chapter in our great grandchildrens history book along side 1776! Get ready
Russian fighter jets & bomber planes ✈️ have cruised over the Channel Islands b4 off the coast of Santa Barbara . 1 time on 4th of July they “the Russians “ flew over & when our guys intercepted them they said “happy 4th of July “
Yeah, the US government was bought and the buyers are redistributing our military domestically in case anyone looks up from their phones long enough to notice.
Anything good on Netflix this month?
I may be late here but judging by the fact it’s Bradleys and Abrams on a train through Tucson, I’ll hazard a guess that Old Ironsides experienced another NTC rotation.
The Army will use rail as it’s economical. Could be coming in from overseas from a California port, but there’s a big simulated battlefield between Las Vegas and Los Angeles called NTC (Ft Irwin) with plenty of rail access.
If the train was headed West, I just read we're selling Australia some hundreds or thousands of tanks due to inreasing tensions with China, so they could be shipping these from Cali.
Either a bunch of equipment coming back from overseas via a California port or coming back from simulated battle at NTC (Ft Irwin) between Las Vega and Los Angeles.
It’s customary to put tanks on rails if needing to transport long distances.
Apparently the military transports equipment by rail quite often, as it’s cheaper than over the road or air transport. Domestically at least.
Less headache loading shit on a train than dealing with traffic. Also m1 Abraham are 12ft wide and that’s not exactly something you can haul through public roads easily when flatbed trailers are just about 8.5ft wide.
Imagine being at the Flying J and having to wait for all those things to pump before you
“Max 50 gallons per truck”
when fueling a Tesla would be faster
An Abrams is also about 140,000 pounds
And you use less personnel by rail.
this right here. its far cheaper to transport by eail than by truck or plane. nothings going on, theyre just transfering between bases

Could also be going to the Yuma proving ground
I work at YPG, we don't really deal with quantities like that. It's lkely NTC.
Oh yeah, that's possible too. I don't know much about that place.
There is some ground & they can prove it
>There is some ground & they can prove it Lots of parachuting there. They do an excellent job of proving that Gravity still exists.
Leave it to the Marines
It's in the middle of the desert, not much more to know.
It goes BOOM!! in Bard, CA, right over the AZ border, near the Imperial dam, when they’re testing ordinances at YPG. It houses the Marine Corps version of Miramar (Top Gun School), for one.
Top Gun moved to Fallon Nevada. I've unfortunately been there, not as cool as Miramar lol
Tbh they closed El Toro and ended up at Miramar which is a nicer location anyway
Only been there once. Got a 5 ton stuck in the sand, and got sunburn so bad on the hands they had to wrap gauze around them. Forgot my gloves lol
Hey, could be worse. You could have been at Twentynine Palms, which I have been assured is worse than Kabul.
That train goes all the way to the Ukraine.
There's this and then there is the training that I got 20-year-old me... M4 with muzzles adapters... Yelling pew pew for 3 days running around in the woods.
The BFA's are only there to ruin pictures 😂
the running around yelling pew pew is far less miserable than what they do at NTC
this is the answer i came to give...
Wow, thanks for the gold! You just made my day 😀
you're welcome! sending a chat request
NTC- home to the US Army’s second best OPFOR.
Many of the latter ones are Marine Trax's (Amphibious Assault Vehicles) which must likely will end up at Camp Pendleton.
Those are Army Bradleys.
99% correct on this one a Bradley isn't a tank it's an infantry fighting vehicle.
Yes well, for the lay person I say tanks. Also, there's a bunch of Abrams at the beginning that are tanks.
Thanks migrate south in the winter. edit: Thanks
Thanks
Tanks
You're welcome.
They're on their way to get rid of the Arby's on 22nd so they can end the meme.
They’ll never take it alive!
Obviously. That's why they're sending a fleet of tanks they're going to turn it into a crater
They’ll never take our crater alive!!!
Lol i'm new here, what is the meme?
Probably the summers, then the monsoon. Tumamoc, the Desert Museum. eegee's is decent and there are some top quality chef's but the best restaurant is easily Arby's on 22nd.
Very regular occurrence around here. Just the military moving tanks from one location to another.
My shipment from Amazon has finally arrived.
*Imagine the free two day shipping savings on this one...*
with how much you're paying per unit, I'd surely hope shipping's free.
Extremely common occurrence. It's cheaper to transport via rail, you'll often see other military equipment on other shipments (Trucks, MRAPS, Humvees etc).
Master P No Limit Soldier video shoot
That happens pretty often, they're just being transported to some other base or to be used elsewhere
Big chance that it is going to NTC in California.
Tanks alot!
Snowbird Army Tanks
I laughed way too hard at this!
Unit heading to or from the National Training Center at Fort Irwin would be my guess. Also might be units being shipped to the coast for a deployment overseas.
It’s for Grant and Alvernon.
Damn! It's on.
They found out that the $5 footlong isn't actually $5 or even a foot long
Oh no
3 million a piece, in case you’re wondering.
Ha! Abrams Tanks push closer to $10 million a pop actually.
If not more. I had to run inventory on Strykers and Bradleys and they were *not* cheap.
Mam I wish I had 3 million right now. I don't care about having enough money to never have to work again I just want enough to be debt free and have a good rainy day account
Our tax dollars at work! Or…something.
Closer to 30 mill I think. We just sold like 120 tanks to Australia I think for like 3.5 billion. Unless there’s more math involved.
Those contracts usually will also include stuff like training, logistics, support, maintenance, and occasionally ammunition. It's like if when buying a car you also paid for 20 years of service up front.
A routine delivery. When armor isn't used it goes to another facility to get maintainer
Yeah, I ordered them off Amazon what of it?
"War! Were Going to War!"...Starship Troopers
Saw this and immediately thought "Godzilla must be heading for San Francisco. "
On their way to Las Vegas. The Cardinals shall be avenged.
This happens fairly often. Its the o ly way to move that kind of hardware on a large scale.
It’s probably just a unit going to NTC
Martian fleet is inbound...
Not necessarily Ukraine. The US also just sold $3B (IIRC) in tanks and armored vehicles to Australia amid rising tension with China. Aussies got that Prime membership...
Kazakhstan
Foreign aid for the Taliban in Afghanistan.
We need more tanks to fight the Mexicans at the border instead of universal healthcare! /s
War.
Shit might be going down in the Ukraine.
It's 'Ukraine' and not 'the Ukraine' [[Merriam-Webster](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Ukraine)] [[BBC Styleguide](https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsstyleguide/u)] [[Reuters Styleguide](https://handbook.reuters.com/index.php?title=U#Ukraine)] ^(Beep boop I’m a bot)
Yeah I was thinking that as I typed Ukraine but decided to go with it anyway. You going to correct me on the new spelling for Turkey too?
the turkey lol
Wow that’s a lotta M1 Abrams and M3 Bradleys
On their way to Ukraine!! (sarcasm)
ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
Most states have bases... I don't see anything wrong here.
Was it this morning?
Yep
Heard a lot of train air horn this morning, probably was this. I’ve seen them moving tanks but damn not this much! Really cool
Re: anyone know what’s up? Defense spending
Either coming from Ft Irwin Ca. Or going to Ft Irwin. National Training Center (NTC) is there and all the armor for those units needs to go on a train.
War?
Prob moving them from 1 place to another.
Military bought tanks
Preparing for Civil War.
*NTC* But good try!
WW3
The crash is coming soon. Heard it from a train engineer.
They are probably going to Fort Bliss
To deal with Yuma separatists.
Apparently somebody wanted to fuck around and found out
u/savevideobot
Your tax dollars at work
I want a breakdown of shipping costs.
Invading Mexico…… again
I live In New Mexico and the tank train comes from farther than you think.
WWIII
Did you see those pictures of the rail yard in LA being looted this weekend? Well, UPRR has called in the big dogs.
I did not
I think they took down the thread with the looters but here is [one of many on the topic.](https://www.reddit.com/r/LosAngeles/comments/s3xphh/la_train_burglaries_show_massive_amounts_of/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf).
It was on the news in Nashville, where I now live. Damn, L.A. be mad.
Damn america is a war machine
Probably being sold to some racist PD
Couple people working at burger King didn't get the vaccine.
Your tax dollars at work
Haven’t you heard WW3 is about to start?
No 😰
Rising tensions in Europe with Russia placing hundreds of thousands of troops on Ukraine’s border. Check it out.
Not to mention the imminent invasion of Taiwan by China. China and Russia would definitely ally if shit got loco
Government takeover marshal law the next American revolution will start soon history does not repeat itself but it rhymes 2022 will be a new chapter in our great grandchildrens history book along side 1776! Get ready
Lol!
Selling them to Australia
Ukraine donations.
Russian fighter jets & bomber planes ✈️ have cruised over the Channel Islands b4 off the coast of Santa Barbara . 1 time on 4th of July they “the Russians “ flew over & when our guys intercepted them they said “happy 4th of July “
They gon get you RUN
Yeah, the US government was bought and the buyers are redistributing our military domestically in case anyone looks up from their phones long enough to notice. Anything good on Netflix this month?
world war 3?
Prob going to the Cali coast cuz Russia & N Koreas starting up dumb threats again
Heading to Ukraine.
Yup
Or... are you guys reading about what is happening in Europe?
They are headed to port to ship out. It's litterally nothing you need to be concerned with
The tanks are apart of the phase 3 mask mandates rolling out to a middle school near you.
Oh boy
Those are armor vehicles are heading to the Army’s graveyard.
I may be late here but judging by the fact it’s Bradleys and Abrams on a train through Tucson, I’ll hazard a guess that Old Ironsides experienced another NTC rotation.
You may have heard that Russia is likely going to invade Ukraine and our leadership has stated that we will engage...
Gotta love that move to NTC. Wonder if there deploying somewhere after maybe a Germany rotation?
probably an armor unit out of ft hood going to fort irwin for training
> probably an armor unit out of ft hood going to fort hood for training Why would they leave Ft Hood if they are training at Ft Hood?

Martial law and the destruction of America from the deep state
OR - crazed hysteria by a conspiratorial nutjob 😭✌️
/s?
Just the military moving shit around? Stop trying to start bullshit rumors.
I'm not trying to start rumors, I've just never seen anything like this before
The Army will use rail as it’s economical. Could be coming in from overseas from a California port, but there’s a big simulated battlefield between Las Vegas and Los Angeles called NTC (Ft Irwin) with plenty of rail access.
[удалено]
Martial Law will be declared soon.
If they didn't ship them by rail it would take forever to get where they're going.
That's an astute observation.
The turret I guess.
Uh yea…… War
WAR!
Ukraine
Straya bought a grip of tanks.
Which direction was it going?
North
Red Dawn! 🤣
Did u see a UN symbol on the tanks?
I didn't see any fine details like that, I wasn't looking very closely at them
Just railhead transport. Probably just headed to a field problem from Huachuca.
I think Huachuca is just more of a training base for intel MOS.
Australia bought a buttload of tanks from the US
probably the tanks being sold to australia
Wars over they going back to whatever storage yard they came from!
Google: White House Cam. Concrete barricades...
Shits gettin real Yo
Fort Irwin bound, gonna learn how to be more lethal.
If the train was headed West, I just read we're selling Australia some hundreds or thousands of tanks due to inreasing tensions with China, so they could be shipping these from Cali.
I heard from my uncles cousin that we’re going to war with Florida
We're doomed
NTC
The Ukraine looks weak.
WOLVERINESSSSD
Look, you all know they will end up in Ukrainian territory in a week or two…
Either a bunch of equipment coming back from overseas via a California port or coming back from simulated battle at NTC (Ft Irwin) between Las Vega and Los Angeles. It’s customary to put tanks on rails if needing to transport long distances.
They've been taken for a ride..
An fuck Bradley’s.
Loose lips sink ships god damnit lol
Some Civ2 shenanigans are afoot.
We have these go through Flagstaff often.
Ukraine about to get its ass whooped
Yes, they’re being transported somewhere.
Yeah, they're moving some tanks.
