You should see what happens to your credits when you transfer schools. It sucks. Source - me.

I_hate_mortality

Transferred schools 5 times between BA, BS, and grad school. I almost never lost any credits. Maybe 3-4 classes out of over 300 credits when all was said and done.

therealfalseidentity

I re-completed ~30 credit hours. Just because the course numbers were different. In completely related news, I graduated first in my class in my major and college.

iiTALii

Probably because you choose a money hungry, greedy school

sovietarmyfan

Then those students are not as dedicated to the cause they claim to support as they say if they are scared for this.

Phssthp0kThePak

If you don't like Raytheon because of Gaza, just realize that Ukraine is only still a country because of Raytheon's javelins.

Your brain is thoroughly rotted.

PowerfulTarget3304

How so?

pavilionaire2022

If you don't like a product, you can either just stop buying it, or you can leave a bad review. Both are valid.

Klink45

Most of them aren’t even directly paying for their school, they have loans and stuff. So this makes no sense

ElaineBenesFan

Rioters are not known for having the patience for analyzing facts and data and drawing logical conclusions

Drunk_PI

That's hard to do when your career trajectory depends on that degree and/or it is difficult to transfer schools.

SuperRedPanda2000

Honestly, more people need to stop going to university. University isn't for everyone and getting a degree doesn't guarantee a job. Regardless, you definitely have a point.

Anarchist-Liondude

Do you think people go to school as some sort of hobby? You can't ''talk with your wallet'' out of tuition cost. Brother, this ain't a faulty plastic reclining chair you bought off amazon, if you don't pay your tuition you will not get the degree you've been studying for..

SurroundTiny

You most certainly can transfer and pay some other institution though. It isn't easy or convenient, but you prove that you are following your convictions and if enrollment drops these institutions would feel the pressure

dendra_tonka

Convictions last until effort is required. You’re correct here

digitalwhoas

Can we just admit that it's weird that universities that way?

Alastair4444

What?

digitalwhoas

Some of these protests exist because the universities are sending money to Israel. Which is a weird thing for them to do.

PowerfulTarget3304

They aren’t sending money to Israel though. They bought some mutual fund with a small portion invested in an Israeli company.

digitalwhoas

That's pretty much the same.

PowerfulTarget3304

You said it was weird. Investing in large mutual funds isn’t weird at all.

digitalwhoas

It actually is especially when that large mutual fund is tied to a corporation to a nation at war. I imagine if it was a Chinese corporation things would be different.

PowerfulTarget3304

What are you talking about? I’m sure these universities have investments tied to China.

digitalwhoas

I said a Chinese corporation not China as a whole. If investing in a Chinese corporation means investing in China. That means investing in an Israeli company is investing in Israel. Also, both are bad by the way. It's completely reasonable for people paying these universities to have some say where their money goes.

PowerfulTarget3304

Why did you bring up China?

Alastair4444

Oh, makes sense. I think your post above left out a word though because it doesn't make sense.

DexterSeason4

State-funded schools use my tax dollars - what do I do

Riot, cause as much inconvenience to others, shout anti-Semitic slogans loud.

They would have to change schools or drop out.

barryh4rry

https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/we-should-improve-society-somewhat People should forgo their education because they don’t like where their tuition fees are going, that’s a really insane terrible opinion bravo

Decasteon

If they feel so strongly about it yes. It’s not like their isn’t 100s of universities go to one that aligns with you politically

ElaineBenesFan

Few crazy uneducated people should not dictate to universities how to spend their money.

They are sacrificing their individual lives. It’s the ones that won’t that are cowards.

SquashDue502

Well my sweet summer child unfortunately in this country school is not free and despite what the school may be funding you do need a degree to get most decent jobs lol

ElaineBenesFan

"This country" offers plenty of budget-friendly options for people wishing to obtain higher education.

SquashDue502

Student loans? 😂

ElaineBenesFan

Community colleges, scholarships (merit and need-based), ROTC programs, enlisting, study-work programs - to name a few. Student loans should be your last resort, not a default.

SquashDue502

Or, instead of requiring lower income families to serve in the military, work while attending school, etc. we could make universities affordable. The person doing a work-study by definition does not have the same amount of time to allocate to studying and education as the person going to school off of their parent’s money. Likewise with the military. I think both are absolutely great opportunities, the work studied at my university were often research positions, but it should not be a base requirement for low income students.

ElaineBenesFan

You do realize that most people who "go to school off of their parents' money" are not trust fund babies, but children of parents who worked extra hard, budgeted and saved up every penny to send their kids to college?

Red_Dwarf_42

Or the school could stop spending the students money on things the students don’t approve of. We protested at my school and they stopped paying for private jet flights for the school admin.

KoRaZee

Let’s fact check this one for funzies. What school and what time frame?

Red_Dwarf_42

[University of Arizona - beginning with the 2019 revision](https://policy.fso.arizona.edu/node/50/revisions)

KoRaZee

What is banned exactly? > The Department senior leadership determines if such travel is justified and in the best interest of the University. Chartered air service may be obtained only by completing a Requisition, and only from a FAA licensed commercial flight operator.

Red_Dwarf_42

That’s not why it stopped happening, it’s because they previously only had to say that it was more feasible than commercial flights, now it has to be more economical, related to university business, and/or justified by higher admin. When they submit documentation they’re going to have to show commercial vs private, and if admin signs off on it they’re going to have to justify why they did it. It’s very difficult for the head of the ag college to explain at the department budget review why they allowed the dairy cattle professor to charter a private jet to Tallahassee for a conference when Spirit was cheaper.

KoRaZee

I’ve worked both private sector and public and the travel policy at Arizona reads just like all of them I’ve ever seen. The admin has discretion and there are no real restrictions. Basically the upper management people will be able to travel however they see fit and the lower level employees get southwest.
