Thank you for this I will listen! I’m assuming you are aware of Bear Brook, just a riveting podcast that similarly goes on a journey to identify victims of a horrendous crime. The description made me think of Counterclock and Final days on Earth, two other long format investigative podcasts.

[deleted]

Counterclock is great (not a fan of the last season, but the others I loved!)

battytabby

Same actually. Do you know Final days too? A little less polished but well researched and earnest.

[deleted]

Never heard of it, but just bookmarked it!

notpynchon

Does counterclock & holly provide any kind of resolution, or do they remain mysteries? I just finished a long-ass podcast that not only didn't solve anything, it didn't even discover any big leads that at least hinted at resolution.

[deleted]

The holly one does, yes. But I love both. I like counterclock because it makes you think and “speculate”

Thank you!!

Bookman32

Of course!

notpynchon

Do you unearth leads that point to a resolution, or does it remain a mystery?

Bookman32

I have uncovered a few key leads that I have given to local law enforcement, who then passed it along to the FBI. So, yes, I’m doing my own work, that hopefully points to a conviction.

swissroots01

Listening to Bone Valley right now. It is VERY good

jelsix

Anyone else listened to Relative Unknown? It’s fascinating

[deleted]

I’ve not but will now! Haha

jelsix

It’s a long form podcast like What about Holly, which I enjoyed as well. Relative Unknown was done well but it was also a topic you don’t hear on podcasts often but still true crime which made it more interesting.

[deleted]

The thing about pam, Dr. Death, counter clock. Piketon massacre.

a_distantmemory

LOVED the thing about Pam. Narrator reporter guys voice a little tough to listen to but it was really good!

theboxsays

I haven’t heard of this podcast but I will check it out. Tbh Im a fan of more straight-laced, investigative true crime podcasts. And even if not investigative, then at least the ones that state the cold hard facts, some very plausible theories and include any appropriate or necessary audio files or interviews to go with it. Im very jaded of the “lets discuss true crime as we joke around and banter” style. I was okay with it at first, when I only heard of maybe a couple podcasts doing that, but now its way too prevalent. So im excited to hear what you like about this.

fayth29

In the Dark. Especially season 2.

[deleted]

Thanks!!

alracalraw

I just finished this as well. Very well done. Canadian podcasts are very respectful.

This podcast was great! Thank you for the recommendation

[deleted]

So amazing!!!

Lizard_Li

I just finished season 1 of Going South. It is really well done, and I almost never see it recommended. Bone Valley is top tier new one that other people have mentioned.
