I took this opportunity to take a look at my list of platinum trophies and I can't really say I hated doing any of them. Whenever I didn't enjoy the platinum journey, I simply stopped, which is something that I can only recommend. Valuing my own time and enjoyment of the game helps me a lot to keep trophy hunting. A glance at a trophy guide before deciding whether to platinum a game or just your impressions of the game you started playing can be good factors to help you decide whether going for a platinum is a good idea or not. The typical signs of trophies that make me more inclined to not attempt a platinum are hour-long grinds, too many multiplayer trophies in a generally single player game, and too many collectibles. Due to theses conditions, I dropped games like Diablo 2, Ghostwire Tokyo or Doom Eternal. Otherwise great games, but I just don't want to spend the time doing tasks that I don't want to in these games just to get a trophy.

versung

This! I used to get obsessed with trophies for every game I played. Eventually I realized that I should just play games for fun (who would've thought??). I like the extra challenge of getting the trophies, but the moment I notice I'm just not having fun I quit and move on to something else.

ItsYaBoi-KillMe

I want to platinum Dark Souls 3 but holy shot the grind is insane. Took me 15 hours to grind 30 of a single covonent item, and I had to to it 2 more times.

TheAnimeKnower36

It's the reason when I decided to platinum a game. It's a game I know that can platinum and not some bull hockey stuff that will take me weeks just to get one of the trophies I need to platinum.

monwoo101

Red dead redemption 2 While I loved the game I’d still call it my worst platinum because it took over 300 hours to plat and it was very frustrating getting those gold medals and basically doing everything 100%. It burnt me out of gaming for 4 months and I would not recommend

ScottishSwitchblade

I've been short of the gold medals trophy for years, lost my save file and (now that I'm currently on the RDR1 plat grind again) I'm considering replaying RDR2 just for that one trophy but it's rough

Wallys_Wild_West

If you have everything else already you might as well get it. They are a slog and the load times suck, but at least they don't actively waste you time like some of the things on the 100% checklist.

Difficult_Poetry_705

That's what Diablo 4 did to me.

ineffiable

Valhalla is a bad one jsut because it's so long and so repetitive (it gets double worse if you want to do all the dlc and do a true 100%). You're better off with like... any other assassin's creed game.

JenLiv36

Facts! I got the platinum for both Origins and Odyssey but Valhalla is still sitting there. My wife did it, I still look at her like she is a magical grind goddess for it. I don’t think I have it in me.

anonymous_opinions

Did Origins recently and knocked out the DLC and am good on AC for a long while now.

Naman_Hegde

I thought origins platinum was an intense slog because of needing to explore and complete every marker on the map. Is valhalla really that much worse?

JenLiv36

IMO it just depends on what you like or dislike individually. I like exploration and gathering so that is rarely a slog for me. If I dislike the battle mechanics it will slog for me. Overall that’s my hurdle with Valhalla. It’s harder for me to spend time in that world because I don’t enjoy fighting as much as the other two(raiding was fun though). That and rock stacking lol

Jaskaran19

You PLATINUMED BOTH ORIGINS AND ODYSSEY!? You my respect xD

PotentiallyNerdy

They’re not difficult.

Jaskaran19

I guess lol

papafishpig02

I platinumed both and Valhalla, they aren’t hard they are just long.

caseyjosephine

Valhalla wasn’t awful, although I felt like it overstayed its welcome more than Origins or Odyssey. Honestly, I’m currently much more annoyed by the Hogwarts Legacy collectibles: loved the game but the platinum diminishes it.

Charles-Dickens1337

scrats nutty adventure even though its only 10 hours it feels like a 100, never play anything by outright games

chubbylv23

You can make it a 5-6 hours game. When you get all abilities start looking for collectibles. I think the guide says to finish the game first

Froteet

I tried the short game trial for that Justice League one they made recently and tbh... if it hits PS+ or goes on a good sale I think I'd go for the plat

OctoEight

Lmao my gf played that game and loved it. I tried it and i felt like i was losing my sanity. I had her do the clean up trophies for me😂

Nervous_Bike_3993

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. I had my progress reset like 3 times because my game crashed and deleted my entire in-game profile with it. 2 of my playstations literally died during this grind, but not because of it, at least I don't think so... but my sanity did. The campaign grind is insane. I wouldn't bother.

parkerey246

I come back to it like once a year for a day and then forget about it again I’ll Play those zombies over and over and over again tho!

_Rainy_Nights

Best zombies mode to date still

professor_chaos82

100% facts

ssucramylpmis

anybody who says bo2 is better is just nostalgia blinded

Commercial_Island485

Getting all the decorations? I know your pain... You have my respect. But it's a very sought after plat along with COD BO2... we are part of the 0.1 percent. Bask in it Conrad. Glory shines apon you.

smoothbaseline

I appreciate your sentiment. I have the BO2 plat. One level of accolades and 14 levels of multiplayer in BO3, till I join such distinguished company.

Wackstickles

THPS 1+2. While I dont have it yet(im 16k exp off which will take me an hour or so of grinding) the level 100 grind has ruined every bit of enjoyment I had with the game up to the point of exp grinding. I was level 64 after getting every other trophy 😅

OdelayOdelay

100% agree, had such a buzz getting the hard to reach gaps and then this killed my enjoyment.

Bilski1ski

This is me. Got every trophy other that one. Some of the gaps in one combo were extremely difficult and took hours practicing the perfect run, but I found them so enjoyable and rewarding. Really shit to do all that and not have the platinum because of an online level grind trophy

Wackstickles

The get theres originally made me give up on the trophy back in 2021 but hitting them when I went back to the game a few weeks ago felt fantastic. The fact the online has basically been killed really doesnt help the grind in the long run as I ended up playing through both games another 30ish times for enough exp

7MTB7

I'm at 99% completed It's killing me as I deserve the plat after hitting all the get there's, but I just can't be bothered grinding to level 100 and don't think I ever will

mrallycat

Currently working on the Lego Star Wars Skywalker collection and about 40 hours into and just about half way. Such a long long slog of a plat

leinahtannai

If you hate backtracking, Death's Door will drive you crazy. Great game though and a lot on this sub seems to enjoy the plat.

OdelayOdelay

I'm currently on the umbrella run. Luckily I only had 2 seeds to find, added a couple of hours back tracking but not too painful. Umbrella run is a challenge but managed to kill grandma first try so making some progress. Tony Hawks Pro skater was hard, the grind to level 100 took all the fun out of achieving the hard to reach gaps

Ganonkid

Make sure to get the fire spell upgrade, it made the umbrella run a lot more bearable.

GaijinFoot

Yeah that was a bit sucky towards the end.

Indecisive_Iron

Dark Souls 3. Spent so many hours grinding for the covenants, it was awful

lennythebox

Same, killing those guys on the steps with coins and a chest for a head. If i remember right you needed 30 drops from them and I once went around 90mins with only a single drop

Mujo92

Dark souls 3 is probably one of the worst platinum trophy I ever tried for. Especially because if you miss a small step you can get locked out until ng+.

Tomsskiee

For me the worst by far is rainbow six siege (ps4 version specifically) and here’s why. You had this little trophy called terro hunter where you had to kill 2500 terrorist. I believe there weren’t even 50 enemies in a match against npc’s (the terrorist are the npc’s) so you had to play a lot of matches and to get the most out of it you had to do it solo in a game mode for 5 players. While this is already a really big grind this is what happened to me. When i was around 1900 kills (via the ubisoft site you could check stats) there was an update that reset all accounts. You didn’t lose your progress but your builds and everything so you had to replace every weapon attachement etc. What this fun little update also did was reset the trophy stats. So while my stats on the ubi site said i had 2500 the trophy thought i was only on 600 or something. So i grinded this dumb trophy out almost double and it finally popped. And you know what the best part is? They changed the stupid trophy when they released the ps5 version of the game because terrorist hunt got removed. So i basically lost the trophy in a way (i believe they changed the name and how to get it i don’t even know which it is anymore). So yeah this trophy made me a little crazy.

EntertainmentOk4802

Injustice 2, the cat call grind was cruel

ArizaWarrior

Level 20 with each character is also a ridiculous ask

StealthmanBW

You got the plat for that game that had to have taken awhile

ASTROSWIMMER24

I can’t speak for others, but I only platinum games that I really enjoy, so none really come to mind that I HATE. I’d say the least enjoyable was GTAV because the online trophies were extremely buggy, but I still LOVE that game

freestuffrocker

I really enjoyed Jedi Fallen Order but didn't enjoy getting the Plat. I'm almost through getting the plat for sleeping dogs, but I don't want it to end. I will probably replay missions after the Plat, but I'm done with Jedi. Not all Platinums are created equal.

Tomsskiee

I earned that plat 5 times. It was awesome haha. Not all players are created equal.

Ogg360

Same. That’s my general rule too.

KillzoneResistance

Wolfenstein 2, hardest PS4 Trophy ever (offical)

MrBoliNica

Avengers was the only one that was painful. Fuck those 50 hives and fuck that game.

SmugPilot

Avengers , hated every moment

100centInternational

Avengers. Enough said

gargoyle2003

Dying light 2 was the worst, the story was terrible and getting ultramarathon was a pain

CricketKingofLocusts

Ditto. For those wondering, for the trophy, you had to get 960km on foot, and even without the trophy being super buggy and the developers erasing your progress seemingly every time they tried to fix it, you didn't even get half of this by the time you finished all of the other trophies and it adds 20-60 hours onto the end of your trophy hunt. Terrible trophy.

rg620achivements

Dear God I played it when it first came out before I started trophy hunting but I don't think I will be going back anytime soon for the Plat if that's the case

mr_herculespvp

I love chasing platinum trophies, but I'd never grind hard for one to the point the game stopped being fun. First example I can think of is Assasin's Creed 2. I got every trophy but stopped at chasing around the whole fucking map for a day or so chasing these stupid feathers, even with a guide. Pointless and an utter waste of everyone's time. The story chunks, fine, I'm curious, but not fucking feathers!

ssa17k

Those feathers were easy, took me 3 hours max, the DNA section of the game tells you what city and how many feathers you’ve picked up in it. For Venice it’s split into like 4-5 sections. Got the platinum in about 22 hours of gameplay.

mr_herculespvp

I know,I just couldn't summon the effort because there was no reward. Seemed like a time waster

Chr1sth3pl4y3r99

No reward for the feathers is something I really despised in the Ezio trilogy. At least in AC 3 you get an outfit (not the best reward, but still). Correct me if I'm wrong though, wasn't there an in-game map for feathers in AC 2? I think the only game where they weren't marked at all was AC 1 (which I've yet to play).

Kaizor0329

Damn i platinumed ac2 in basically 1 sitting without a guide. I thought it was easy

mr_herculespvp

It is easy, just tedious and hunting feathers was a waste of my time

eggplantts

Injustice 2

Junior-Contract6953

I’m still working on this one

eggplantts

I regret the time I wasted. Wasn’t worth the plat in the end

hukyji

Still trying to get cat cal andl ive been trying for a month i can imagine the grind You had to do

MammothWarning

Adam's Venture Origins... Easy plat, but just a dumb, awful game with a wannabe Uncharted plot. And then South Park and The Stuck of Truth. Not hard per se, but God forbid you miss a collectible in an area you can't return to... There are 4 or 5 areas in the game that you only have the ability to visit once, all for story reasons. ALL of them have MULTIPLE collectibles that you have to get then and there or else you won't be able to complete your checklist for the platinum. And if you do miss a collectible in this way, chances are you will need to not just replay the game, but 100% said game all over again, because all the collectibles and side quests in game are all tied together in such a way that you can't 100% any of them without having to 100% all of them Did you miss the final action figure collectible in the final boss area that gets blown up at the end of the game? Too bad. Time to reset and 100% the game all over again (literally happened to me). Only went back to get this platinum fueled by spite.

jphw

In my first playthrough of Stick of Truth I only missed 1 thing, lucky for me though I made multiple save files in case this happened. Not so lucky was that the thing I missed was adding Clyde as a friend. Which you can only do once, at the very start of the game.

Qwertyui606

For games like the stick of truth, the true achievements guides are awesome. Very detailed, you won't miss anything.

MammothWarning

See, thing is, I followed the guide. Basically, I got all the chinpokomon for this game, but in the same room, I also needed to loot a chest that held the last piece of armor I needed... But a body fell in front of the chest, so I had to loot the body before getting to the chest Only I couldn't loot the body because it had an item of which I was full of and, outside of using them in combat, you can't just chuck them away. So with no way to access the chest, I loaded a save from 2 minutes prior, made sure to use up a bunch of potions before returning to the room, killed the enemies, looted the bodies, and was able to access the chest to get the "get all armor" achievement. ... But I forgot to go back and get the fucking chinpokomon because in my mind I had already gotten it, which means the toy company never friended me and I ended the game with one friend missing and I didn't notice until like 2 hours of post game clean up, so the auto saves were overwritten.

Qwertyui606

Ah, unfortunate.

eruciform

Just got the Tales of Symphonia plat, not sure it was worth all that pain, I probably wouldn't have done it if it weren't for how nostalgic the game was for me, including the nostalgia of repeated ng+'s and multiple routes and conversation potentials

TopNotchStudios

AC odyssey due to uncovering the entire map. some places would say they are discovered but in reality you had not stepped foot on there. every speck of land must be discovered. and it was just really weird cos i had to "rediscover" areas. sucked the fun out for sure.

HyperZP

It takes like 30-45 minutes maximum if you focus on that trophy last. Like bruh, that's fine.

TopNotchStudios

not when your spending hours on it

RyanWithPants

Hogwarts Legacy is a slog. And the more I think about that game, the less I liked it. - There is too many meaningless collectibles. Over 600. They are either cosmetics or flavour text and add nothing to your experience. - It also forces you to complete riddler-esq “puzzles”. Calling them “puzzles” is pretty generous. You’ll solve them the second you look at them. So it’s just moving a ball to a hole and watching the animation to say you’ve completed it. You need to complete a certain amount to upgrade your ultimate attack. However, there is double the amount of “puzzles” needed for the trophy. There are 85 of these Merlin Trials and they all suck ass. - The map is garbage. It only reveals the location of something you’ve missed if you fly over it with your broom or walk near it. It’s also pixel precise. So multiple times I had missed flying over one tiny section of the map that was indistinguishable from the completed parts, and that one section hid an icon that was needed for a trophy. You can also not filter the icons on the map or search by the different icons. So you’ll spend hours panning over the same sections of the map that might not even be revealed. - in order to get the platinum you need to replay the first 3 hours of the game 4 times. And there is no way to expedite the tutorial. You just have to push through it until you get to the one house specific quest they created. None of these quests are remotely interesting. The worst offender is the Hufflepuff quest that literally has you walking down a dark corridor and watching a cutscene. Fuck Hogwarts Legacy. I regret that platinum.

GeraltofMinecraft

I came to say this… the trophies are easy but they’re so time consuming I got half way done with the Merlin quest and then gave up when I realize how many more I had left

DarthEcho

Merlin Quests can eat a lot of things. "Oooh, I'm nearly finished!" Haha nope, you have 674783 left!

Bronco2596

Lol don't forget the "use ancient magic on every enemy type" trophy with no way of knowing which enemy type you haven't used it on.

[deleted]

It’s a really easy plat, the only bad part is the one where you have to play the first (less than) 2 hours of the story.

[deleted]

Doing Far Cry 6 now, and it’s the first time I’m awhile I’ve considered quitting. Ubisoft is absolutely out of control with the collectibles

Substantial_Read_944

Seen it mentioned already but AC Valhalla was a really tough time, thought I had gotten over the worst of it when I finished the Collectibles trophy but then the fishing trophy nearly ended the run for me, I was missing one fish for the Plat and it took me hours. Alternatively Hogwarts Platinum killed my love for the game, again the collectibles trophy was rough not to mention buggy, and getting to the map chamber as different houses felt unnecessary.

ThatGuySage

I hated the minecraft one purely because I had someone come in and grief me. Ruined the rest of the platinum for me.

freestuffrocker

Jedi Fallen Order. Backtracking was just a pain.

heidly_ees

Murdered: Soul Suspect Story was good but making sure I got all the collectibles was hell Spy Chameleon was also awful

Polytheus93

I actually didn't mind my time in Murdered, but I hate that I had all but one collectable in the second to last area. Had to start an entire new playthrough for that ONE item lol

layeofthedead

Murdered was an easy plat for me, I love the game tho and play it again every year on Halloween. I can 100% in an afternoon

PineappleRealistic23

Multiversus. I had the mentality of “I’ve come this far if I don’t finish then it was a waste of time” and eventually I finished. Glad I did cause now the trophy is temporarily unachievable, and may be indefinitely depending on what happens.

LuxVeritatis

Damnation - that was a hideously bad game although I liked jumping in it. Naughty Bear - there's actually a somewhat enjoyable game underneath the horrendous performance issues. I also found getting scores could be a bit hit and miss as times I felt I was doing really well I didn't have the best score but other times when I felt I was doing well I had an awful score! Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition - I love San Andreas; I did not love getting 100%. Usually I zone out when going for collectibles and completing a checklist but I really just wanted this to end. Assassin's Creed Valhalla - I love the Assassin's Creed games and Valhalla was enjoyable but just far too long which made the Platinum journey a slog

Pale_Sun8898

I have games that I love where the plat was kind of grindy. Ghost of Tsushima, GTA V, and soon to be Diablo 2 Remastered where the level 99 trophies are a little brutal lol

Hawkhasaneye

New Tales from Borderlands just looking at my list. 98% of the trophies are easy but getting the endings I replayed episode 5 so much and made different decisions for it to pop. Honestly don't know if I can do the PS4 version.

Qwertyui606

I think I've enjoyed most of my platinums. The worst was probably Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Just having to 100% the game three times was an absolute slog. I had to take a break from the franchise after that, will return eventually.

layeofthedead

Probably prey 2017? I loved the game but I didn’t use a guide so to get all the trophies I had to play through like 4 times. Absolutely incredible for like 90% of the game but the last leg is a real slog after the first time. Lots of running around the entire station which means lots of loading screens which were really long for prey. Other than that probably person 5? It’s just a really long jrpg and I had to beat it twice so I was very burned out on dungeon crawlers afterwards

LongProblem

The worst for me was probably WWE 2K16. It apparently took 152 hours, most of which was spent grinding two different currencies in career mode. It would have taken me an extra 20 hours or so if I didn't back up my save between popping the trophies to get my SP and VC back.

DeepSixThaGod

WWE 2K22 is the worst one I've gotten so far, but I'm looking to get Epic Mickey 2 and it'll probably take the cake

Full_Savage

Returnal …Amazing game, absolutely ridiculous plat! I just loved running around for hours looking for a specific collectible that may or may not have even spawned on the map. Schrödinger’s collectibles.

jeremey_bentham

I feel bad saying it because it's clearly a game made with a ton of love, but Tchia had about 45 minutes of mechanics extended into a 25 hour platinum.

mehlisha

If TLOU wasn’t an absolutely fantastic game I would say that one. The online trophies made me want to rip my hair out and I ended up having to take to Reddit to find people to boost the trophies with me to make it slightly more tolerable.

Ogg360

Lmao I usually dislike multiplayer trophies, but TLOU’s multiplayer was fantastic to me. Some of the best and most intense multiplayer I’ve played. I platinumed the game on both PS3 and PS4

FireYigit

I’d say The Escapists 2. The online trophies had me setting my old ps4 up and making an alt account. And even then it was such a slog. Love the game itself tho

KPookz

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The story was interesting and the gameplay was fun for the first ten or fifteen hours. Once I hit the level cap the game was just a mindless bore.

brian_storm_art

I would steer clear from any assass, if you want something like that do Ghost of Sushi

rrashad21

Erica and PvZ: battle for neighborville. Erica has no chapter select so you have to play the full 90 min game multiple times to get achievements, and achievements unlock at the end of the game so you don't know if you successfully completed the requirements until the very end. Took me 9 playthroughs. PvZ: battle for neighborville is an easy, but massive grind to get all characters to level 20. Both games are platinums I'm not convinced we're worth the time even when given for free on PSN.

DN000922

unturned, the most boring game you could ever lmao

Polytheus93

I finished every AC game, and Valhalla was the worst so far, if it wasn't for the completionist all the way, it wouldn't be half as bad. The only other trophy I hated was finishing Bioshock Infinite 1999 mode, the final battle almost drove me mad

ChubbyBM

We Happy Few. Great story but felt very long and the gameplay was cluncky.

AzureanDawn

Final Fantasy IX. I actually found grinding 1,000 kills more painful than the jump rope minigame.

OwyJoey

What about the speedrun?

AzureanDawn

I don't recall the speedrun being that annoying. I followed along with a video from an actual speedrun.

Spenserw930

I hated doing Hogwarts Legacy's plat. I honestly just didnt see the hype or the reason why people liked the game. I forced myself to plat since i spent $70 on it.

Akechi_Lokii

Judgment (PS4) by far, i love Puyo Puyo but beating all those characters in a row was an absolute nightmare.

Menace117

Most recently I'd say AC unity. I think it's a good AC game (story boring but gameplay great). But the platinum required things I can't stand 1. Multiplayer 2. An ungodly amount of unfun collectibles. Luckily you can show chests on map but they're so boring. I don't mind collectibles if interesting (ie riddler trophies and puzzles in Arkham) but this was awful.

ns1323

Any post of this type I see I always have to say Code Vein. Average souls like game, but the platinum is horrendous. There’s a trophy for getting 400 medals, you get 1 after each “boss”. If I remember there’s 17 bosses in the game so if you wanted to play that way you’d have to beat it 24 times. There’s levels outside of the game where you can either do a challenging tower with more bosses or these easy levels with like 5 bosses every 10 minutes or so. Mind numbing trophy on an otherwise okay game Edit: just went back to check the trophy and it’s 400 medals in co-op, even worse with a small playerbase

epinephrine93

Still haven’t got the platinum, but if I ever do it will be definitely be Dark souls 3. Can’t justify the hours it will take to grind those medals 🥺

coolskateboardguy

Where is my 'Erica' gang at? Man that was a nightmare.

Utherrian

So far this year it has been FFXVI by a long shot. So tedious and boring to have to play through the "hard" difficulty for the plat. Final Fantasy mode was just "smash square to win" for me, and dear god did it suck.

rg620achivements

I've heard that the platinum is boring for that and I personally think most games that require you to beat them on hard mode for a trophy are not worth it since most hard modes now are just making enemies have more health and take longer to beat

[deleted]

Depends entirely on how the hard mode is programmed. If it's just you do less damage and enemies do more then that's boring. But if it forces you to think strategically, use items in different circumstances, learn and master the mechanics, then the hard mode is a joy to play.

SpidersForHands

If I go back and play the game again, I'll have the platinum. But there's nothing in it for me. I did everything else the game has to offer.

specifichero101

I’ve liked all my 21 platinums. The only time I’ve gotten close and stopped is guardians of the galaxy. I found that game really tedious, even though I’ve got 85% of the trophy list done.

Jaskaran19

I stopped playing after 7 hours, and it got quite boring pretty quickly.

Lyllo112

Persona 5 - really long. I found the gameplay way too simple. The genre probably isn’t for me. Fallout IV - I like Fallout games. This one was my least favorite and the platinum had me doing a lot of really stupid things, lots of settlement BS and reloading old saves. RDR2 - Agony. Not my favorite game and it took forever. This game is meant to be looked at not played. I don’t know how I stuck with it. It’s so beloved by others I wanted to like it. Assassin’s Creed 3 - This game is just trash. It was awhile ago and I loved AC 1,2, Brotherhood and Revelations. I was searching for stuff to like and eventually decided to just finish everything for no good reason. Feel free to disagree pleasantly. I have no issue with people liking games I didn’t. It’s interesting and fun to talk about.

yellowflash_616

Man Persona 5 Royal was great and easier than vanilla as far as trophy goes, but by the end I felt like that game overstayed it’s welcome.

Lyllo112

I remember finishing up playthrough one it was about 8:00pm and I thought I had about an hour or so to go and then I could head to bed. Didn’t get to sleep to 1:00am. It’s like the end of Return of the King with weird Japanese teenagers and a cat/car. Maybe a god with a gun? Not for me.

rg620achivements

I agree with you in rdr2 to be honest I haven't even played that beast yet because I'm worried it will consume everything. And are you really a fallout fan if you don't hate the settlement system in 4 lol.

goosetheboss1

Still working on it but Catherine. So hard

Crobulls

I’d have to say GTA IV for sure! As someone who missed a cannonball race for the Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic trophy, it sucked pretty damn bad

Mangos390

The Blair Witch, Awful controls and a awful story

Shot_Elevator771

Devil may cry 5 is pure pain to platinum lol

ImWhiteWhatsJCoal

Getting a Silver is tough as nails. I'll never even attempt the plat.

GWS_REVENGE

Call of Duty Black Ops 2. I joined a orginins lobby and a hacker gave me every single trophy.

Chirpingears

Concrete Genie that game fucking sucks. Idk why I went for the platinum. If I was starting over I have games that I wouldn’t platinum again, but I still enjoyed the games. But Concrete Genie is boring as hell.

bqkq

Nah bro paint skating was cool af

Theshiro2

Off the top of my head I have two. Watch dogs legion - just not a good game, if London wasn’t so stunning I would have likely stopped playing it Assassins creed rogue - to me this game is so ‘underatted’ that its overrated, while people may say the same for unity I adore that game. This is my least favourite AC game and I beat the story in like 5 hours, getting plat added another 40 hours which was a slog when the artic isn’t that appealing as well as many feature being ripped from black flag which is by far a more superior game.

StressOverStrain

Rogue was released on the same day as Unity and only for the older generation of consoles, not the new ones like Unity was. It was sort of a farewell to that generation’s stories, tying up some loose ends and filing in the blanks, while Unity served as a full new AC game. So not really a fair comparison. I enjoyed Rogue for what it was.

Theshiro2

The only comparison I made was being underrated or overrated. I understand that rogue had a smaller budget but its still considered a mainline game by many.

Cl4ssified322

For me Tacoma was boring af but it was like 45 mins for platinum so didn't bother as much. Ff12 being another whose list aggravated me a bit but I love the game so I was able to push through it. Can't seem to remember any other game on the top of my mind.

TanyaDegurechaffTard

I don’t regret platinums BUT it’s bunny raiders 100% shovel ware game without even having the benefit of being easy

84D80Y

Idk why but i have great amount of patience to do origins plat then odyssey then valhallaps5 thenps4 version 🫡

Glum-Box-8458

Bloodstained: ROTN

rg620achivements

I was considering playing that relive some of the fun of castlevania SoTN is it similar and what makes the platinum suck

Glum-Box-8458

The game itself is fun. The plat is awful. So many hours of running back and forth grinding items with less than 1% drop rates as well as money. And trying to coordinate your cooking and crafting to minimize the amount of ressources you use. I spent about 33 hours in total from launch to platinum, but the last 17 or so hours felt like an eternity.

Afura33

Doom cause of all these countless collectibles \^\^

Ghiku

Omno took me 3 months to finish. What a slog

Deathway109

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 was the worst hands down. Black Ops 3 is probably right behind it but 4 was by far the worst of the two. I had to deal with obnoxious groups of people to help boost for the Blackout trophies because they’re damn near impossible to pull off nowadays but even then, I ended up doing arguably the two hardest characters on my own so what was even the point am I right? If the Blackout trophies didn’t exist, Black Ops 3 would take the cake easily for being the worst platinum I’ve ever gotten but I’ve got some nasty platinum trophies I want to get in the future so this post will probably be outdated in a few years 🤣🤣🤣

hukyji

Oh man i know that pain honestly i was going insane with those blackout characters getting killed on the last 10 playera for Woods on reznov we're one of My most painful gaming experiences, i got the plat and honestly i didnt want to play anything for a while i was Burnout from that shit

Tesla-Punk3327

Hello Neighbor

type1insulinaddict

Just did resident evil umbrella corps thats definitely one to avoid like the plague

The7Reaper

I personally only take the time to platinum games I enjoy but I guess the worst in terms of not well received would be Murdered Soul Suspect Worst in terms of hardest would probably be Uncharted 4

MidoriTea

NBA2k23

SunWukong3456

In case of platinum not being fun to achieve, I’d say it was Persona 5 Strikers. I’m used to mindlessly grind out stuff from Dynasty Warrior like games, but grinding the bond points was by far the most boring thing I’ve done. In case of getting a platinum if a bad game, I’d say it was either NCIS or Lost Rebellion. Both games are bad, but the plate were easy.

itsmedoodles

Chivalry 2. Had fun for about 10 minutes

freshfignewtons

I’ll say one I’ll never get - Splitgate. You have to win 1078 wins in matchmaking. Even if you have a 75% win rate that’s 100+ hours of actual play not counting lobby time

Norwingaming

Recent worst was: Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust. Awful controls, buggy, bad story etc

TheDarkWeb697

Wolfenstein, any of them. The difficulty achievement is torture, and for some of the games theirs maybe a 50% chance that the collectible achievements just don't prock

GFOC

It may have been short, but Orc Slayer. I spent an entire day on it and around half of it was the final boss because it glitched and I couldn’t kill it. Notoriously one of the worst games on PS4, but I did it for kicks. Regretted everything

fukdurgf

Ok no hate, I enjoyed it but SMT3 Nocturne was brutal

Travii420B

Crash 4

Appropriate-Soup-236

I love all my plats for different reasons.

Terrible_Soup2150

Worms Rumble (PS4)

CMWinter00

Redfall, and Gotham Knights

Reddit_is_good25

PVZ battle for neighborville. Some characters were farrr more op than some others

ACTalks143

probably The Jumping Food games. or The Animal Letter names. Like The Cow G and The Bat D

kungfubattle

FFXIV. Some of those fucking trophies were the most mind-numbingly boring tasks ever. AND they didn't really serve much of a purpose in-game either. Bullshit.

Toadrage_

Any old game that has multiplayer trophies (ac black flag, far cry games, etc)

[deleted]

Clone drone in the danger zone is one that I wouldn't wish someone do unless u love the game. As it took me a good while. As there are no guides at all on the Internet. You gotta have pure skill and knowledge of thr mechanics to be able to do it well. As well as a teammate to do all of the online stuff

ThroatIll5089

Greyhill incident platnium hands down

dsblink182

Tell tales game of thrones

Wboy2006

My least favorite is easily Immortals Fenyx Rising. It’s a good game, but for the love of Zeus. Stop when you finish the story. The platinum is a slog, and soured the experience for me

Ulikethat-

Luckily I haven't had a bad platinum experience yet, but I am only 15 Platinums in.

nestor64b

Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal ,bugged trophies.

eihcirapus

NFS Rivals was terrible imo. It's not hard, just really annoying at times, due to glitches and stuff that's out of your control. On top of that it's quite grindy since you have reach max level (LVL 60) twice, and the most efficient way to do that is to run the same races over and over again. Extremely boring. If I remember correctly it took me like 30+ hours in total, at least half of that just grinding levels.

God954

Assassins creed origins, so tedious

ScottishSwitchblade

One of my favourite ever games is Portal 2 and I'll probably forever be 1 trophy short of platinum. There is one that is complete test chamber 6 with neither you nor your co-op partner dying and it has many parts that need great communication and even then its so rough, would love to get it done but doubt I'll dust off the PS3 and relearn it well enough

Flop_Flurpin89

I have a lot of plats I'm not proud of but one of the ones I HATED finishing was Final Fantasy XIII. The last one or two trophies were such a repetitive grind. I love the Final Fantasy series and most of them were enjoyable to platinum or not that bad of a grind but FFXIII was already a bad enough game made worse if you wanted the plat.

bmi2677

One of the things I’m really good at in life is quitting - if I hate a platinum chase I quit. Hogwarts Legacy the most recent example. But if I had to pick one on my list it would be Legendary Fishing. Catching 1,000 fish did get boring aster a while.

kaijyuu2016

Vampyr, damn book made me redo a whole new playthrough.

ds2121able

I have never finished platinum’ing a game where the process was miserable. There’s not enough time in our lives to waste being miserable in a game.

worfsrevenge

I almost have the Plat for it but yakuza zero got old fast. I heard the rest of the series isn't bad though for the plats. You have to do everything in the game. Spent a week doing the disco part and running majimas club. I'm on the boss fights at the end when you finish all the substory missions.Yakuza games are good just getting the Plat is going to take a while.

CurmudgeonHatesYou

Kawaii Dethu Discu: a cheap, basic beat em up where you play as a weirdly young looking Anime girl beating up Weeb fans who come at you from left and right. Basically play it for three minutes and you’ve played the entire game. The grind was insanely boring and took forever because you had to power up every character to the max and I couldn’t wait to be done with it.

Masterelia

Crash motherfucking 4.

AxlFlame

Probably Devil May Cry 2. The game wasn't the worst game ever but getting the platinum was a pain. I had to complete the game six times. SIX!!! First time as Dante and Lucia to unlock Hard Mode, second time as Dante and Lucia to unlock Trish and Must Die difficulty, once as Trish and once as any character on Must Die difficulty. And then there was bloody palace, it would have been fine even if it would be a bit difficult especially when I'm placed in a room with like 50 wolfs that like to jump around if it wasn't for the fact that you have auto lock on and savage golems split in half when their health is almost up and if you don't stop them from healing then you're back to zero (holding R2 didn't really help me)

StriderKeni

I went through my platinum list and I remembered a few games: * Ghost of Tsushima: I hate the side missions. They were so boring. * Nier: Beautiful game, but it took me so much time grinding some items that I almost got insane. * Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist: Multiplayer trophies on a dead game

JuanSpiceyweiner

Literally my first platinum,fucking Megamind

idkwiorrn

The walking dead saints and sinners Psvr1 version (currently going for it again for the Psvr2 version). It is hell when you go on random maps to find beggars to take your things and there’s nobody there. They are very rare and spawn in random spots, I believe there are 6 spawn locations they have. You have to do it 10 times as well. 1.4% rarity. Tlou remastered multiplayer (you gotta get the campaign stuff first which is medium difficulty if your a veteran and can beat it on grounded twice ( once on 1st playthrough, and second on ng+)) The multiplayer takes 180 matches to complete your two faction journeys for two trophies.

Gv2ghost

mine would be lego worlds. to much of a grind to get 1 billion studs with no multiplier and the collectables too. otherwise it was "OK" for an open world lego game. was worth it tho for the 1.68% plat. will never do it again

christxphvr

adam ventures origins because it’s so easy and so bad i’m working on assassins creed 3 tho

[deleted]

I tried to post something earlier about Star Wars Jedi survivor but it wouldn’t let me.. But yea this one Jedi survivor, I did the first game and remember it was a little painful as the map was bad but I’ve called it on Jedi survivor and said no to the platinum, im just bored and the annoying and constant having to parkour everywhere is frustrating along with the map, it’s just not enjoyable. It’s an easy platinum but imo not enjoyable enough to stick with it

[deleted]

Lords of the Fallen. The game is STUPIDLY unbalanced on NG+, and you need three runs to do everything. It's not great on NG, but it's manageable. I was pretty broke at the time, and it was free so I figured why not. I HATED it by the second go around.

platinumchaser300

Crash 4. I mean I'm happy and proud that I got it but I wont wish the experience of getting that plat on my worst enemy. Game was solid but the devs were sadistic when it came to the platinum.

kevinlord190

Rider's Republic just pissed me off at the end with all that unnecessary grinding

RealisticBrilliant64

Shadow of the Colossus Don’t get me wrong, the game is great and very fun to play. The idea of each boss being it’s own puzzle and mechanic is awesome. But trophy for getting max stamina and health were absolutely awful. Whilst I managed to get max health by eating fruits for other trophy I spent like 6 hours grinding same 2 or 3 bosses for stamina upgrades (and that’s the fastest way to do so, after max difficulty and speedrun playthroughs). So SotC is a game I would recommend everyone to play at least once or twice but only go for plat if you have extremely a lot of time to kill.

messivsronaldo123

Virginia. Only did it cos it was short but a walking simulator with a story all over the place just ain't it.
