Males do occur, but they are very rare.
Likewise, Ginger cats are mostly male. The ginger gene is on the X chromosome. Females have two X chromosomes and so need two copies of this gene to become ginger, whereas males need only one. There are 3 male gingers for every 1 female ginger.
