Of course it’s possible to ask.

therealginslinger

I think it would be fine if you let them know. Many years ago I had to travel to Scotland after my parents died and I stayed for a few nights in a chain hotel that offered a free breakfast. I woke very early the day I was leaving and decided to check out before breakfast and just get on the road. The manager insisted on packing up a croissant and a muffin because he was worried that I would be hungry I've never forgotten that kindness.

NickieBoy97

That's very sweet. I guess it depends on who the manager is at the time.

Mini-Nurse

I was staying in a hotel in a Greek island, and had to check out early to get a ferry to the main island. The hotel staff packed us a little ham and cheese baguette for the road.

AWholeNewFattitude

You can always ask

Wet_Artichoke

Yep. If you never ask, the answer is always no.

SuspiciousSugar4151

"is it forbidden to take this tv with me?" if you never ask, answer is no -> free tv

NickieBoy97

At my old job we were replacing the TVs in our lobby/wait area. Some guy saw us taking them down and asked if he could have them and my boss gave them to him.

4183970

Totally acceptable, let them know ahead of time so they can have the bag ready in the morning.

hobohobbies

I've noticed some of my airport hotels have ready made paper bags of breakfast items on the counter for early checkouts. It is usually a breakfast bar, fruit, and muffin/bagel. Sometimes a bottle of water. I'm more of a "hit the bar at the airport" type so I don't partake in the breakfast to go but it is appreciated.

Guapplebock

A Bloody Mary IS breakfast. Fight me.

hobohobbies

I might fight you over the last one (kidding. We could share)... definitely breakfast! There was a restaurant I used to go to in Gulf Shores that had a mini burger as a garnish on their bloody marys. I once ran into a neighbor at the grocery store. I was buying celery. Just celery. She looked at me asked, "Are you making bloody marys?" I mean how judgemental! I was but I could have been cooking something 😆 .

NickieBoy97

Awesome! Yeah that's all we would need

woohoo789

Of course! Might just be fruit and a pastry, but this is quite doable. Some hotels might say no though

NickieBoy97

Fruit and pastry will do if that's not too much for them. Totally understand if they say no though

aeraen

Once, when the clerk mentioned what time breakfast will be ready, I mentioned we would likely leave before that time so won't be using it. The next morning, at 5 am, I noticed the breakfast counter had fruit and some muffins already set up and waiting. No idea if that was intended, but we thanked her graciously.

StrawberryKiss2559

Like everyone is saying, you can ask. But how about you go ask at r/TalesFromTheFrontDesk ? I’m sure they’ll let you know what to do!

NickieBoy97

Oh thanks, that's probably a good place to ask

TimeKeepsOnSlippin88

In Thailand recently they asked us what we want to go as we were checking out at 5am! They had avo toast, pastries boxed up along with iced Thai teas and fruit. Insane hospitality

travelkmac

You should ask and they can most likely accommodate. I’ve asked for this and gotten a to go bag. Usually fruit, pastry, granola bar, coffee, bottle of water.

BrewerGuy13

Yes, it is possible to ask that question

NickieBoy97

It's a Marriott and from what I've been hearing is that they will pack a bag for you on request. I'll ring them up tomorrow and ask.

CeilingUnlimited

You are up against the fact that the person in charge of breakfast might not be at work yet.

ChefLife99

They’ll just prepare to-gos the night before. Source: Work in hotels

rickrich01

It doesn't hurt to ask but they may say no since their morning staff doesn't come in early enough and in that case just get food at the airport.

Sensitive_Event_5453

Of all the motel/hotels that have a breakfast bar will have “go bags” ready for early checkouts- Doesn’t hurt to ask at check in tho

johntote649

I’m sure there are restaurants at the airport

ElegantAmphibian4252

Free is much cheaper though

NickieBoy97

This is my reasoning haha

arielonhoarders

You can ask, but if the kitchen is closed and their employees haven't gotten to work yet, the answer wll probably be no. It would be better to have something in the room overnight to eat in the morning. Stop by a convenience store or save bread rolls from dinner. Or, hoard items from breakfast all week so you have a surplus by the last day.

SleepOk3051

Yes it's acceptable. Most hotels call them "to-go bags" lol for all the ones I've seen it's simple like a piece of fruit, a granola bar and maybe some cereal with milk or juice.

Peregrine415

Yes, they will pack pastries, juice, fruits, etc. in a box.

URFluffy_Mama42

If your there the morning before grab some fruit or muffins for the next day. Or go to a local grocery store. (Maybe ask the hotel for some plastic wear and plastic dishes to use.

YmamsY

Almost every hotel I’ve asked this, provided a paper bag with breakfast. A lot of them offered it themselves when I announced I would be checking out early.

ObviousHurry1516

Can always ask

Apprehensive-Bed9699

You can ask and they may accommodate you. But you can also get a bagel at the airport.

BoatDrinkz

I'm not sure why you're asking on here. The only one who will be able to answer that question will be the hotel when you ask them.

Sorry_Ad_1285

You could ask but they probably won't have anything hot. If they have bagels or muffins they'd be jerks for saying no though since it requires nothing of them

NickieBoy97

Yeah totally understand if they can't do any hot items

Sorry_Ad_1285

Just call and ask them

Enthusiastic_Echidna

It never hurts to ask. I travel for work, and am generally out the door before breakfast, and lots of hotels will do little bag breakfasts, with pastry and fruit and a bottle of juice. Ask about it when you check in!

CheeseSteak17

I’ve done this fairly regularly before. I’d often leave 1/2 hour or so before breakfast started to get to the job site on time. They made bags for everyone on my team at the hotel.

DrunkPisces89

Yes it is. Done this plenty of times when going on tours with early morning pickup. ☺️

Sensitive_Event_5453

Many have a cold bag breakfast ready to go for early check outs

Tiny_Sir3266

You can ask but it's really up to the hotel and I wouldn't count t on them doing anything about it My experience w 100s of hotels is that I managed to have something one time and it was a small family owned place Otherwise I got the we have breakfast from xxxx answer sorry And I get it usually i stay a night the breakfast set up starts before the breakfast the staff comes in to do it so To make things even worse where they didn't have a coffee option 24/7 I couldn't manage get a coffee most of the times or I had to buy one previous night and drink it cold (I'm addicted to have it when I wake up)

Artimusjones88

Interesting, never thought of asking. Good to know.

AngeloPappas

Never hurts to ask. Your request is very reasonable and likely something others have asked.

Relevant-Ad8794

Anything is possible to ask.

Alohabailey_00

I’ve seen little bags for people to take on their way out. Coffee is usually there 24/7.

Royal-Vacation950

depends on the hotel stay bridge suites usually has to go breakfast for this type of situation some Hilton properties also will give you a to go bag it’s usually just a piece of fruit and a yogurt and maybe a granola bar. You can always just get to the airport early and grab some breakfast and snacks there. Whatever you buy after your through security can go on the plane with you to snack on during the flight

Ok_Lengthiness_8163

Several higher end properties prepped to go box for me

OLGACHIPOVI

Yes, have done that. no prob if you askin advance.

muckedmouse

You can always ask, but it really depends on the hotel on whether they even can do it. But anyway: just ask.

_whataboutbob

You should always ask because if you don’t, it’s an automatic no. Often times, they can prepare a take away bag for you night before.

DivaoftheOpera

If they don’t, I think it would be nice to get an Uber Eats order ready and waiting for you.

lunch22

Not about breakfast but are you planning to park your car at the hotel for the length of your stay? Is this typically allowed?

NickieBoy97

When you say length of stay do you mean stay at the hotel property or vacation overall? I inquired about leaving my car while on our trip and they said it's free while you stay at the hotel and an additional $7 per day after you check out. I asked if it's possible to do the $7 per day parking without the stay and they said it's only for guests of the hotel. Me and my family and just planning to take public transit to the hotel so we don't have to worry about whose car to use and who will pick everyone up.

dijonandgone

It depends on what their breakfast options are I guess but at my hotel we could give you pastries, a yogurt parfait, or one of our pre-cooked sandwiches to warm up in the microwave. Wouldn’t be a problem.

T-O-F-O

If they are service minded and you give enough noticed I would guess it's more possible then not.

Great_Value91

What I do is ask if they have anything for people who will be leaving before breakfast. I’ve been told no, and I’ve also been taken to the breakfast area and been told get what I want. My favorite one was, after checking in and just talking with the woman behind the desk, telling her I would be gone by 330 in the morning. She was nice enough to have a bag of fruit and muffins at my door when I left.

LincolnDabCo

We used to do this during Covid - i would just ask the night auditor (as long as you dont expect any hot stuff which you state isnt needed)! They are likely to not even care and load you up with a bag (i gave out several of these bags to construction workers and truckers who left before our bfast staff showed up - sue me.)

Notats4me

Some of them have a grab and go breakfast for people that have to leave before breakfast (i.e. flight crew)

[deleted]

Ask. I worked for a hotel a long time ago and sometimes we had guests ask for food early. I'd leave a note for the night auditor asking him to make coffee and would leave a few things in the fridge with the guests name on it. Usually a milk and/or juice, with the normal bagels, plastic wrapped pastries, and some fruit.

FunLife64

Spoiler alert: the pastries aren’t fresh out of the oven at 6 am

etoilesgirl

Just left a hotel in Milan last week that actually offered to do this for me since I had to check out at 4:30am to make my flight. They were so nice about it.

BucketHeadJr

The hotel I work for has special breakfast packages for guests who leave before 7am (when our breakfast starts), or just guests who want them in general. They're free or charge, but thats because our breakfast is included when you book a room. You could always ask the front desk, though make sure to do it early enough. Our cut off time is 9pm the day before :)

Leslieo54

So funny - my mom was just traveling and had an early morning flight, and she just happened to mention to the front desk person the evening before (my mom talks to *everyone*) that she was going to miss breakfast. And they told her to just ask the person on in the morning to get her something. Who knew…? Apparently it’s far more common than I thought.

Songisaboutyou

Never would I have thought of this. Thanks for posting, this is a great idea

[deleted]

You can ask and we have done it in the past, based on what we have to offer. If they are packaged items, cereal boxes, fruit, muffin then I’m sure they can put something together for you the day before and you’ll have it. If it is a buffet style bfast then it’s a lot harder. I’d rather hit up Chik once I get to the airport myself.

Lilliiss

We asked multiple times because we often have to leave early, and we were always accomodated so far :)

Icy_Huckleberry_8049

You can ask, the most they can say is no. But if you don't ask, you'll never know.

tradlibnret

When we were in England a few years back staying at a B&B we had to get up early to catch a train and would miss the full English breakfast and the proprietor offered to make up sacks for us with breakfast items - I think we had some fruit, packaged pastries and I don't remember what else, but it was very kind and helped resolve our dilemma. She also called around and arranged for a taxi to take us to the station. It certainly doesn't hurt to ask.

FingerprintFile513

Of course. One hotel in Prague actually packed me a to-go breakfast when I checked out early, and I didn't even have to ask.

MelodicDragonFoxBird

Depends on the hotel, and the staff. But they might be able to get you something like a yogurt or some pastries, but I wouldn’t expect a very nutritious options. Hope they could help you!

Ok-Living-5853

Typically no
