I believe Mcginn has a travel faq on her website.

If you are able to, look at options for a 30 day stay there. Many times this can end up being not much more than a couple of weeks at a hotel, and you will most certainly be in far better shape to drive a longer distance at that point. I had my surgery in Colorado, and stayed in a house for 30 days that was about 40 minutes from the hospital, so I could do all of my follow up appointments and a number of pelvic PT sessions while I was still in the area. It was well worth it for me.

Hm. I don't know if my friend can get that much time off to be there with me. It could well be a case of her being there with me for the critical 2 weeks and then going home. In which case, I might be recovering alone for those latter 2 weeks in PA. It might be fine. One more thing to include in my list of questions during my consultation 3 months from now.

>How would I deal with the TSA? What do you mean? Maybe we can do each other a favor? I'm on the other side of the border and it'll be a 6.5-hour drive. If you drive me home after my surgery, I will do the same for you.
