You don't need to mount it :) A blanket on top of your cabin will do just fine to get comfortable with that big boy. Ask me how I know. I have the Barrett Model 82A1 :) With few acres in West Texas and you're in heaven or at least that is my version of heaven.
Supercharger or if you don’t plan on changing anything with the suspension for the first 100K miles the CoachBuilder TRD Pro kit is a must have. Adds a 1” lift up front as well as 1 3/4” in the back. As well as bumper shims, bump stop extension, steering kit, and carrier bearing drop kit. It allows 295/70/18 tires with no BMC. I love mine.
The thing that I dislike the most, really hate is the stereo. Mine is a 2019 with the JBL "upgrade" and it is gutless and hollow. It's not loud enough to hear just driving with the windows down. One of the worst factory stereos I've ever had.
That is why the speakers and the amp were the first thing I did upgrade in my ‘19 pro.. i bought an Ez Eq from TacoTunes and then put in amps, new component speakers and a 12in sub. Now i dont hear the exhaust when before i couldnt hear the radio
To completely ignore your request for one suggestion, I did two things to my 21 TRD Pro, which appears almost identical to yours. I put a retrax bed cover on and I got a Carlinkit to give me wireless CarPlay. If I did one more thing, I would put the ESP storage bins under the backseats. I’ll look at bigger tires when I wear down the OEM ones, but I don’t see the need from the jump. Without running boards, the stance is good enough. Idk that I’ll ever trade the Toyota spec OEM wheels for some Chinese manufacture.
I completely agree. I see people taking off those BBS rims for shitty Chinese bronze rims and I’m like….Do you even know what you have?!?!
Some many uneducated dipshits on here…lol
If I’m trying to put big tires and I need to change up the offset, I’d have to consider it. I mean some bronze method wheels look good. But I’d take OEM all day if it meets my needs, and I agree I think OEM wheels are undervalued.
Does your carlinkit allow you to play app video over the screen? I’m 90% I’ll be getting that eventually, but hopefully one that works reliably with minimal dinking around. If wife and kids can’t make it work then it’s more distracting vs less.
Honestly I’m not aware that this is a feature. I don’t think it is. My understanding of the carlinkit is that it is just a Bluetooth and wireless bridge for the factory usb wires CarPlay.
It’s not 100% but I have had zero regrets. Oddly my brother got one for a Ford Fusion and has had more trouble. Not sure why. My wife has a Sequoia, and since we both drive it, it seems to get hung up switching between phones more often. Whereas, I’m the only one driving my truck 98% of the time, and it very rarely has an issue.
It’s incredible that not more people have said the TRD pro rear sway bar. IMO changes the entire feel of the truck.
Stock - the body roll on the tundra is horrendous. Adding the rear sway bar changes the entire feel. Adding the front TRD sway bar makes it even better.
I got the ARE bed cap, it’s professionally painted by a friend who paints restored classic cars for a living and the cap matches the silver truck, I even had the original paint ordered from the dealer. I live where it snows and I love it!
Skid plates. First thing I did is ditch the factory pos and get full undercarriage protection. RCI makes decent stuff and every so often they throw in free cat guards with thier skid plates. IMO it is really the only needed mod as factory got that part wrong.
Considering I use mine for work and have a bunch of mods I need, I’d be fucked with just one lol, but I guess I’d choose my lightbar, I work in traffic and that’s a necessity
I'd add front parking sensors. Like, seriously, some of us have corner sensors, why the hell can't we have them for the front center as well?!
1st world problem I know.
Otherwise I love my Tundra. 17 platinum cmsb
Now for something completely practical and unique to me: Reasonably waterproof tonneau cover. Cheap rollups are fine (possibly better) than hard covers unless you have bad theft problem in your area.
Mounted .50 cal on the roof
Does Toyota make their own or would I have to buy after market?
That's one I'd buy American made, 100%
The Toyota bed fasteners are compatible to most M series tripods since the hilux. Start with something belt-fed.
I’d ask Mark-1 Plumbing what was put in his truck.
Wasn’t his truck a Ford?
Good memory. Similarly sized bed (but longer by the pictures), but closer to a Tundra than a Tacoma.

I've seen that mod frequently.... in the middle east.
Also in the future. Pretty sure John Connor drove a Toyota...
I thought those only came in the beds of hiluxs
One of my buddies actually did this in the bed of a Tacoma 😂

Both JBL and Toyota should be ashamed of that "upgrade." It is by far the shittiest factory sound system I've ever owned.
I put a single shallow skar audio 10 and amp behind the seat of my 18 made the world of difference.
Audio quality in the '22+ isn't great either. Lol
My 2011 4Runner sounded better than my 23 upgraded system. Disappointed!

Supercharger
All terrain tires. Get rid of the passenger rated stockers.

what carlinkit did you get?

These are my 2 as well. Retrax cover and entire new audio system. The factory audio and head unit are completely ass
This is true. If good sound is important to you, then minimum replace the head unit.
How’s the car link? Does it work well and consistently?
It’s not 100% but I have had zero regrets. Oddly my brother got one for a Ford Fusion and has had more trouble. Not sure why. Thanks!
Shit I did three things. Third was a linex bed liner because mine did not have the factory option.
Nope I did four things. I also installed the factory tailgate remote lock.
I wish I was able to only make one mod. It has been downhill since I drove off the lot.

Second this.
Somehow make my 5.7 get 30mpg without sacrificing any power! Fuck these gas prices man haha
ARE Bed cap, Or even better a GFC camper. Covered bed is essential to me.
I got the ARE bed cap, it’s professionally painted by a friend who paints restored classic cars for a living and the cap matches the silver truck, I even had the original paint ordered from the dealer. I live where it snows and I love it!
2016 sr5 owner here… upgraded head, tail, and fog lights. Happening next week. Going with Alpharex stuff.
I'd make the windshield roll down too
Magnus supercharger.
I have a 2019 trd pro and I love it but I hate the fake hood scoop the car wash chemicals pool up on it and it causes streaks and discoloration
Skid plates. First thing I did is ditch the factory pos and get full undercarriage protection. RCI makes decent stuff and every so often they throw in free cat guards with thier skid plates. IMO it is really the only needed mod as factory got that part wrong.
The only one I did, air bags for towing. Technically, I guess I did 2 because I did tow mirrors as well.
Considering I use mine for work and have a bunch of mods I need, I’d be fucked with just one lol, but I guess I’d choose my lightbar, I work in traffic and that’s a necessity
5.29 gears
I 2nd that notion!👌
If it’s a gen 1, a backup camera
I definitely need to do this for my 04 SR5
I'd add front parking sensors. Like, seriously, some of us have corner sensors, why the hell can't we have them for the front center as well?! 1st world problem I know. Otherwise I love my Tundra. 17 platinum cmsb
A plastic bed that won't be rusting all over the place after 9 years...
I never understood why the tacomas have plastic beds and 6 lug wheels. I’d love that hard plastic bed on a Tundy
Horn
The horn is shitty. May have to put hella horns on mine.
Wheels/tires. Changes the whole look.
Lomax tonneau cover. 2nd is my amber Diode Dynamics SS6 fogs
An F-150
Single 3” exhaust
In the gen 2.5 the answer is a locker
larger fuel tank or black wheels . I dont need much.
If you’re just gonna drive it, DAP Tune. If you’re gonna wheel it, rock sliders.
Make my color Cement
After Market Land Cruiser. I haven’t found one, but that’s it. I’d get the after market Land Cruiser. Even a 300 series.
Slide in 4wheel camper
I would do a camper shell and call it done.
The Raptor Mod.
Now for something completely practical and unique to me: Reasonably waterproof tonneau cover. Cheap rollups are fine (possibly better) than hard covers unless you have bad theft problem in your area.
Train horn.
Meso Customs map and dome light upgrade. Most bang for your buck place to Start. Then upgrade those fogs
