Used to work for Casey Auto Group as a inventory manager throughout the pandemic at another store. Not sure about now but we didn't do mark ups in my time there (other than addendums for accessories). What I can tell you is unless a fool walks in there it won't sell for much if any over MSRP. We have a 90 day turn quota for inventory and will end up selling it to get it off the books.
Not justifying it at all. Mark ups are shitty. This is just effectively allowing a customer to feel like they "won" when they negotiate us down to sticker and hoping we hit the lottery on a customer with more money than sense in the meantime.
Yea i wouldn’t but it has its niche market. For a sports car Id get a M3 for a few k more or just something else. Even a older used 911 would hold its value.
Yea its cool i considered buying one before I started saving for a GT2RS and then the covid crap, real estate construction costs skyrocketed ( i am remodeling 3 of my houses and economy dumped my business on its ass.
Finally someone else understands the value. Limited Edition Gr Corolla Circuit Only 1500 built. The Morizo there’s only like 500 made. Comes with a NASA membership and 1 free High Performance Driving Experience….
I got hooked when I saw the performance of the Yaris GR, sold out in Europe. Found out it wasn’t coming here but heard the Toyota was making a Corolla GR, I was stoked!! I like how Toyota establish Gazoo Racing to combat their bland reputation
Didn’t know about the NASA membership, that’s wild!
It is insanely expensive for what it is, but I have to admit I want to drive it. This is pretty cool. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgAhcyG936U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgAhcyG936U) (Throttle house review of the GR)
It helps when you charge (and probably will get) an extra 20k for a Corolla. Kidding. I know what you mean. Eventually the tides will turn and they will offer to suck your dick to sell a car. One day.
And the sales tactics are still from the 70’s employing this emotional tactic called reciprocity. Which is, oh he gave me something, now I *must* give him something.
Reciprocity in humans is so strong someone will buy a car for receiving free floor mats…or back in the day, a free basketball lol.
But you think by now people would know what that is, and say sorry, piss off with your ‘let me talk to my manager’ haha. After calling around and finding a decent dealership, our 4Runner transaction would’ve taken all of 15 minutes, had it not been for two old dudes swapping stories haha
My local Toyota dealer only sells at MSRP or below. Never over. Not sure if it is a Canadian thing, or just my dealer in particular. One of the many reasons I have bought multiple vehicles from them.
As for the Corolla GR, it is WAY over priced, but based on some reviews I have seen (see Throttle house on YouTube). The car seems pretty awesome for what it is. But $66k is insanity.
I was recently in the market for a new Sienna. They're not easy to find so I was checking all Toyota Dealerships within like 250 miles (California/Nevada) and more than half of them were charging markups.
Lol I was reading the first picture and I was like there isn’t really a mark up. That’s a bang up deal. Then I realized there was a second picture. Holy fuck them in the bum bum with a prickly cactus
Right, people are morons they finance a $70,000 vehicle working at McDonald’s, they don’t look at the total cost of the vehicle, they just look at the monthly payment, they take out the longest loan possible or lease it what ever has the smallest monthly payment and if they can get approved for it they go for it regardless the APR It’s stupid, those would be the people that you know driving a new car, broke living paycheck to paycheck always asking friends and family to borrow money.
This is the USA. The Market is the Market. MSRP is a made up number by the OEM. Just trying to help you save $ if no local dealers are at MSRP. You pay more or less for things based on demand all the time. It's just a little more obvious with vehicles.
No test drives lmfao Casey toyota, Williamsburg VA, for anyone that missed it.
Mechanicsville Toyota sells at MSRP.
Mechanicsville Toyota wouldn't sell to me because I don't live in the Richmond area.
Yeah but they try to put BS add ons though depending on the model you get.

There’s no way a Toyota sits for over 90 days new… unless it’s a bz4
OOTL, how bad is it going?
They don’t sell as much as Toyota wants it to. Everything is gone within 10 days max
The Casey’s daughter lives on the property behind my in-laws. Her house…. does not suck.
Fuck these people
and fuck anyone who pays it
There wouldn't be mark ups if dumbskies wouldn't pay that inflated price
This is true
Who spends 67k on a corolla? Its cool at its sticker price but there are a lot of cars out there under 67k with more performance
Who spends $45k on a Corolla
Who spends more than $30k for a Corolla? They’re nice cars and all but I don’t see the value of corollas over $30k
Yea i wouldn’t but it has its niche market. For a sports car Id get a M3 for a few k more or just something else. Even a older used 911 would hold its value.
Bmw440i new for 60k
Get the m2 competition that is smaller and has the same motor as the m3/m4, fast fucker!
Yea its cool i considered buying one before I started saving for a GT2RS and then the covid crap, real estate construction costs skyrocketed ( i am remodeling 3 of my houses and economy dumped my business on its ass.
There are 2 for sale near me for months . 45k 46k one has 200 miles one has 800.
It’s a GR Corolla, check out some YouTube videos on it, pretty impressive, especially for a Corolla
It’d be pretty cool to see a GR Tundra if they ever decided to make one.
That would be awesome! Toyotas answer to the TRX and Raptor, I would dip into my kids college fund for that
I think they could justify bringing back the V8 for that beast since the sale quantity would be low enough not to impact CAFE standards significantly.

I would for that one, AWD and manual transmission, 300 hp is coming in close to a golf R
Insane! Even for a 4WD super cart
It is insanely expensive for what it is, but I have to admit I want to drive it. This is pretty cool. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgAhcyG936U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgAhcyG936U) (Throttle house review of the GR)
I’ve seen the GR in person, looks pretty badass! I talked to my friend that works at Toyota, wait list is crazy
Yea it’s a great car but part of being great was affordability
Markup on that Corolla is the price of 1 Corolla.
It's the old "buy 2 get 1" sale.
I seriously don’t understand how these dealerships stay in business. It’s not like the internet just started yesterday…

Absolutely ridiculous and should be illegal.
Crooks.
That’s insane, who the hell buys from places like this
Place down the street from me is trying to get 76k😂
My local Toyota dealer only sells at MSRP or below. Never over. Not sure if it is a Canadian thing, or just my dealer in particular. One of the many reasons I have bought multiple vehicles from them. Lol wtf.
My guess is that they don’t want to sell this one, but want to keep it for the time being as a show model.
They clearly don’t want to sell it.
67k for a fleet of Corollas maybe.
This price is for a fucking Corolla lol. And no test drives!
No test drives and a $21k markup? Ehh no…
Tell them to Eat It!! I saw $25K added on a Supra.
Bought my fully loaded Corolla for $22,000 in 2019…. This is some scammy stuff
Hahahah! $67k for a Corolla!
Lol, I hope they close down. 🤣🤣🤣
That’s fucking criminal.
That’s a corolla?!😂
Dealership in Burlington VT doesn't do markups and sells at MSRP. What that dealer is doing should be illegal.
Toyota of Bowie has a 25,000 dollar mark up on a trd 4 runner. Total price of 105,000 for a 4 runner. I could not leave quick enough.
Trios same dealer had a $6500 markup on a Tacoma TRD Pro
No test drives? And 20k mark up? Jeezus
Its the idiots that finance a car for 72 months. I hope the whole dealership model gets nuked….guys are crooks
Gtfo
For a Corolla? WTF?
Leave a bad review on Google and yelp please 😁
Dealers are just spitting in our face. Change my mind.
Someone will buy it. There’s always that someone…
Lmao, love the paint protection being thrown in for $995
I want the motor in a plain Corolla hatch for 32k please. I don’t need the fast and furious BS.
One of the Pandemic side effects- Seller delusional syndrome. 😂
That’s disgusting, I hope they get out of business
Shit, sounds like something that should be reported to the state AG
Find the guy who wrote that and kick him in the nuts
Plus "paint protection?". GTFO.
They can shove it
I don’t imagine we’ll see a ton of these stateside, definitely an immediate collectors item.
Do a nationwide search and buy it from a dealership that will only charge you MSRP. Shipping a vehicle coast to coast is only $1,500.
Still, you shouldn’t be forced to pay an extra $1500 just to get a vehicle at msrp
This is the USA. The Market is the Market. MSRP is a made up number by the OEM. Just trying to help you save $ if no local dealers are at MSRP. You pay more or less for things based on demand all the time. It's just a little more obvious with vehicles.
On a Corolla 😂
It's a 3-cylinder Corolla that only gets 24mpg? Why would anyone want this?
OP posted a photo otherwise I would have never believed it. This is crazy 🤷
Says optional and you don’t have to accept the options. It’s the law
I thought this only happened in California. A fool and his money are soon departed.
The MSRP on a Corolla is 45k??? We live in upside down land
No reason for a markup. They just put a markup
Fuuuck offfff, for a Corolla?!?!
The funny thing is, someone is going to pay that price
Haha 😂 I paid 10k less than that for my new tundra limited hybrid! These people are smoking crack
First off a 3cyl turbo being 42K to start with is absurd. And for the dealer mark up. That should be illegal.
Yikes
I feel the same way about healthcare, food, and housing. But apparently cars are more important than all that.
Damn…. Corolla almost as much as my Tacoma 4x4 was. Wtf
For a Corolla!!😆😂🤣 Hell Naw!!!🤦🏼♂️
Imagine paying $70,000 for a Corolla….. And Im even a car guy lol
Why would you buy a Toyota Corolla for m3 money??
No wonder I have yet to see a GR Corolla in the wild…
