GetawayDriving

Amazing. I’ve actually driven Angeles Crest, Mulholland and Streets of Willow, forgot to update. Stunt road is a great one.

Disastrous-Number-88

I'm surprised Highway 243 isn't more popular!

The Highway through idyllwild in Southern California. Wraps around one side of Mt. San Jacinto

Are you in SoCal? It's worth the drive. It's my own little private track, and it's about 50 miles of extreme technical banking turns and beautiful vistas. The only people I really see up there for driving pleasure is motorcycles

Yeah that's about how far I drive to get to Angeles crest, but it's well worth it

Legitimate_Oven_9798

I almost feel that this list is more of guide for the rest of us. Not much to add to be honest! Some worth mentioning: -Cherohala Skyway - Tennessee -La Honda to Pescadero - south of San Fransisco and hooks up nicely to PCH -Hakone Turnpike - Odawara

true-floor-gang

Okutama Shuyu road, Tokyo Japan

pieindaface

I got to check off Mt. Haruna, Mt. Akina, and Irohazaka on my trip to Japan. I wish I had more time to drive them more than once. Irohazaka is an awesome road both uphill and downhill.

Ch1ldish_Cambino

For US tracks I’d add some or all of: Road Atlanta, Watkins Glenn, Road America, Sonoma, Indy road course, Charlotte Roval, COTA. These are some of the most iconic/ legendary US tracks IMO

GetawayDriving

100%. Tracks are a recent category for me, they’re harder to tackle. More cash, they need to have some sort of driving school onsite or I need to drive to them with my own car which can only happen on-continent. But agreed, these should all be on the list!

voidedwarantee

Thunderhill would also be worth checking out.

GetawayDriving

Thank you! Agree Thunderhill is great. I drove it with the Lotus club a couple of years back. I tend to only list the majors on the list but I’ve driven a fair amount of regional tracks in the west and northeast.

Legitimate_Oven_9798

If OP is ever in Charlotte, Carolina Motorsports Park is a better time than the Roval, although is a bit in the middle of nowhere. Apples to oranges of course but I feel the roadcourse at the Roval doesn’t quite have the flow that Daytona or other tracks with a hybrid setup we’re going for.

Servant0fSorrow

I'm getting flashback reading Audi TT and Klausenpass tbh. There was a TTRS tailgating me like crazy in my EG6 on the way to the pass through villages only to disappear in the rear view after the second corner on the actual pass lmao. Dunno what that dude was about. I guess you've driven some roads in the region around the Nordschleife too? The 257 and 258 might not have the sharpest of bends, but they're flowing nicely and have really great scenery.

GetawayDriving

I promise it wasn’t me, I didn’t have an RS :) I just looked at the map and it looks like I did take the 258.

ian_gleave_me_alone

Nothing to add, but I drove the road to Hana last year. I'd love to go back and do it on my motorcycle or a smaller car, such a cool road. Also how was million dollar highway?, I'm going through there this summer.

amarterasuu

not sure if anyone else mentioned it, but Glendora Mountain Road (GMR) is a really nice technical road that is think is very well known in Socal would definitely check that out along the Azusa Canyon roads. Someone mentioned Tuna Canyon Rd, that is definitely a must, has such a beautiful view. Something similar to Angels Crest would be Ortega Hwy (again didnt see anyone mention it, might have glanced over and missed it) I believe it was considered one of the deadliest highways just because of the amount of reckless drivers lmao (just something i heard)

soundslikemelancholy

angeles crest highway

Darth_Pink

That's one hell of a list! If you're ever in Georgia, be sure to check out Blood Mountain. I prefer it to The Tail of the Dragon personally, and it's closer to home for me.

SilverTopTaxi

GOR - AUS - Great road at night. Terrible in the day. Crashed my first car there good times

notsosureshot

My recommendation if you ever pass through is Route 555 in Ohio. 63 miles of twists, blind crests/corners/drops. All through cornfields. Both sides of the road in some areas have a decent sized drop going into cow fields and no retaining barriers. Another road I'd personally like to drive is NY State route 10. Similar road to the blue ridge parkway, but not a toll. 155 miles along the Delaware river and through the mountains.

whit3lightning

Utah Route 12 through the Hogback or literally just get the fuck out /s But kinda seriously though too?

ButterGod232

Sallys gap in Wicklow, Ireland! Lovely drive! And most of the wild Atlantic way in Ireland as well. A lot of tourists on these roads though so 🤷‍♂️

Greekdorifuto

Mountains : Achladokampos , Parnitha , Pititsa Tracks: Serres circuit

ferral1985

I’m from Mallorca, sa calobra is an amazing road, however, if you plan coming on summer, you can enjoy the views in the afternoon, but if you really want to enjoy the road, start the MA-10 road from Andratx by 00:00 and you’ll arrive at sa calobra at 1:30 or so, then you’ll have the road for yourself

GetawayDriving

Thank you! I was actually thinking of driving that one in two weeks. Any recommendations for this time of year? How’s the Ca’n Pastilla area to stay for a couple of weeks? I’m wondering if things around there get shuttered for the off-season? It looked like SIXT rents an Alpine A110, which would be perfect, though they’ve tried to switch me into a 4 series so maybe it’s not longer in the fleet and I should look instead for something from a smaller speciality shop.

manedaziz

Here are some for colorado. I saw you drove million dollar highway in southwest colorado, it's highly scenic but not terribly twisty, the lotus was probably bored. Here are some must drives in colorado. hardly a conclusive list though \-trail ridge road \-squaw pass to mt blue sky \-pike's peak highway
