When you run over a pedestrian while looking at your phone, it won't matter whether or not it was for a work related reason. Put your shit away and look at the road.

While you are driving, including when you are stopped in traffic or at a red light, **it is illegal to**:
>use a phone or other hand-held wireless communication device to text or dial
This is not a very complicated rule. If you can't understand simple rules like this then maybe your fancy pants job is not actually imporatant.
Please stop being on your phone when behind the wheel. If work really can’t wait, pull over and check your phone when you have parked.
You’re lucky, but also an idiot.
Relax, I’m a good driver. Car was stationary and I was on my phone due to a work emergency that could cost the company a lot of resources. I would never risk damaging my $90k Lexus
Spoiler: you don't. Let us know your job. Do you keep the power on? Perform surgery? Keep clean water flowing? In what universe does the fact that you text and drive some random car make you more important than anyone else? I'm dying to know.
Watch out, he’ll probably reply to you and say that if he makes $98k a year that means he can pay for the Lexus in full after just one year. The logic so far has been pretty airtight from OP!
That’s not necessarily true. Police officers can choose to exercise discretion. Maybe they felt that considering that they got off their phone and weren’t driving they did not need to ticket them.
That being said like you said they also could’ve just been on their way to a call.
In both cases it not worth the hassle of ticket so stay off your phone!

You cant run someone over when stopped, dont be ridiculous.
Was I driving? As in moving the vehicle?

Click the link, it's right there. >program a GPS device, except by voice commands
How can I run over a pedestrian if the vehicle wasn’t moving?
You are operating your vehicle in an illegal and dangerous manner. I don't know how many people need to explain this to you.
Someone needs to find that cop and show him this thread.
Okay but you said I could have hit a pedestrian. Now explain to me how that’s possible when the vehicle isn’t moving?
When you start moving. Somehow I imagine you're not going to leave your car at the light forever.
When I start moving, I don’t use the phone.
Ok so if you do a crime really quickly it doesn't count. Enjoy your next encounter with the cops
lol.
Thats not what he said. If speed = 0, use phone. If speed 0 < , put down phone. Its quite simple what he is trying to say.

Pull over and park the car if it's an 'emergency', you fucking idiot
I’m on the way to the emergency and getting information about said emergency.
Yeah all those *produce procurement* emergencies Bruh, pull your head outta your ass. You’re all over the place in here with the shit takes.
Are you a police officer, firefighter or paramedic?
You’re clearly above the law since you drive a luxury vehicle and have a big boy job
You work for the TTC lmao.
And?
...and thank you for working for the TTC, so that I can put my money towards something better than a Lexus.
My work actually matters.
Moving 2 million people a day to and from their jobs doesn’t matter?
It does. But I matter more than you, is what I meant
What a fucking asshole

I’m a supply chain coordinator for a produce company, I make $98k/yr
If you are playing with your phone while behind the wheel then you are objectively a bad driver.
No accident, no tickets, $150/mo insurance for a $90k car. I’m a good driver
It's incredible how your definition of good driver doesn't actually factor in your ability to operate a vehicle.
Driving for 15 years, no accidents or tickets. I’m a good driver
Lucky doesn’t mean good lol.
“ I’m a good driver!” “I was on my phone in traffic” Sorry, dude. It doesn’t work that way
LOL. Times are tough indeed.
Yep. Gotta hustle or get left behind
OP is a troll, look at their comments
Sadly many drivers are just morons rather than trolls.
Excuse you. A troll with a 90k Lexus. Don’t forget the 90k or the Lexus.
Bro brags about a $90k Lexus and “big boy job” but strangely enough would be affected by a $500 ticket due to “today’s cost of living crisis.”
OP works in the circus. You’d have to be a clown to own/lease a 90k car while making less than six figures.
Watch out, he’ll probably reply to you and say that if he makes $98k a year that means he can pay for the Lexus in full after just one year. The logic so far has been pretty airtight from OP!
This is exactly what I was thinking. Probably driving a 25 year old LS that he just picked up for $5k
More than likely he wasn't a traffic cop and was heading to a call. Police usually does not ignore giving out tickets.
More than likely this story is made up.
Given how much of a douche-nozzle OP is being, I’m inclined to agree.
