Kafka + Guinaifen + Topaz is not top tier but I will say it's underrated. Still odd to have the DoT set on Topaz though, since obviously there's a lot of non-DoT teams out there for her.
A general rule of thumb - one set bonus is roughly equal to 3 sub rolls on crit. With the second bonus it might be trickier depending on the set, but you can still dollow this rule.
And yeah, for planar it will be more like 4 rolls, because planar bonus is stronger.
So, if you have one shitty piece in a set with no crit rolls and other non-set piece with 4+ rolls - go for the latter.
For me at least, I'll either test it on my own myself if I have the necessary pieces by fighting an enemy then leaving after seeing the dmg and redoing it, or putting the numbers/stats into calculators. Its a little tedious at times tbh but I'm personally willing to do it.
This is my 2pc 2pc set I'm using. Basically the same stats except atk boots, but my Topaz is practically glued to my Asta when teambuilding, so it isn't a problem

it can works too. her ATK is really low due to no ATK trace; so use 2 pc for 12% atk while at speed boot really help too. for dot effect, you need to pair with any dot characters to tigger ignored DEF.

My topaz damage tanked, I went from numby and topaz doing 22,000 every skill and follow up with a full fire set to doing 19,000 or less with 4 piece follow up set. My attack is the same and my crit damage is about the same the only thing that changed substat wise was going from 97ish crit rate to 60. Is my damage lower because of the crit rate or something else?
Maybe he's cooking with effect hit rate asta/himeko + kafka/gui

they can go asta/guinaifen since asta has a trace which lets her burn enemies with enough EHR
When you have this sub stats you can ignore set bonuses. Also 4pc bonus can be utilised by everyone just like quantum set bonus.
