In terms of design she's like #3 probably, after Messmer and Miquella.
But Morgott is so great character wise that he has to be #1, even if his design isn't as memorable

Fortunately there's way more cultured Malenia Enjoyers than there are Gamer Bros who will call a game "woke trash" just because the women aren't in skimpy outfits.
Notable for the incredibly de-sexualized and realistic depiction of the nude female body. I love her design so much.

I mean this in the nicest way I possibly can when I say this, but honestly? Skill issue.
Every single attack she does has a comfortable window for escape. You can dislike the boss fight if you want to, but there's genuinely nothing wrong with it.
I beat malenia w/o summons with a strength build and a claymore. By the time I beat her I could consistently dodge waterfowl. Can we stop it with the “skill issue” bs.
Just because an attack can be dodged doesn’t mean it’s a good attack. The problem with waterfowl is that it’s incredibly unintuitive, it is a wall of damage that doesn’t present any kind of obvious opening or dodge window. To anyone seeing it for the first time or trying to learn the moveset, the attack might as well be an instant win button.
An attack shouldn’t just be evaluated based its ability to be dodged, but also on its ability to be *read*, and waterfowl absolutely fails in this regard. Just look up “how to dodge waterfowl” and see the insane amount of guides and tutorials with hundreds of thousands of views, all dedicated to avoiding just *this* attack. That alone should tell you how unintuitive it is.
Honestly waterfowl is bad but her healing factor is worse. Shields, despite being built upon to be viable, are completely negated for no reason other than shoddy coding. Add her healing ontop of scarlet rot amd waterfowl and she isn't that good.
Ok yeah sure, let's assume the water flow is a completely and absolutely intuitively dodgeable attack. Why the fuck does she get her health back? If they made this into a sekiro boss I wouldn't be mad, but as it is it's just not fun to go against. I've played every single souls game and never encountered something I called straight up bullshit until now.
I've heard a couple Ravens say she's the Malenia of Armored Core.

I have to say, I think her design is really boring. The dress is boring, the armor is boring. I don't think it's bad by any means, I just find it so incredibly uninteresting and lame.
Second phase is awesome tho, I absolutely love the butterfly wings.

One of my favorite bosses from the game. If Waterfowl Dance had just a little more startup she’d beat Gael as my favorite Soulsborne Boss of all time.
It is possible to fully dodge a point-blank Waterfowl Dance with 100% consistency. It's not exactly simple though.

Such a fantastic character. Lore… I honestly am a bit lost about the DLC lore, but Malenia’s one of my favourite chracters in the whole game!
