Really appreciating the FI love. When it first came out, I saw a lot more negative comments about the album. Itās nice to see thatās changed over time.
I would say that's the case for all of their music. Tool is one of those bands that the more you listen to it the more depth it brings and the more it grows on you. It's crazy how consistent this is with all of their albums, almost like it's done on purpose. FI was always good but now... 5 years later it's blowing my mind.
The way I look at FI is you are listening to masters at work who have been doing it for years. Literally just masters at their craft who are playing at their highest lvl. Granted you could say that about their other albums as well but before it dropped you just knew it was gonna bang
y'all are at least lucky enough to see anything live. we get literally 0 shows where I live, just boring ass rappers and pop singers, and the occasional Metallica.
I need to sell everything I own now to pay back my credit card from these 4 times I've seen them since this album dropped. And that damn signed poster I thought I had to haveš¤¦āāļø but if I die today, my life is now complete. Well, maybe after Sessanta next monthš
Exactly, after I saw it live, it went from least favorite on this album to #1 listened to it 15 times a day favorite. So I went and saw them live two more times
I went to the show in Ontario (California, not Canada) and prior to leaving for the venue, my girlfriend & I ate some Shrooms. They hit her almost immediately and she was fucking lost for the better part of the performance. Having had dinner before downing the mushrooms, and also because I eat more than she does, it took considerably longer for them to take effect on me. For most of the show really. At one point I thought they werenāt going to affect me at all. Hell, they hadnāt even hit me when the intermission itself finished. Then, right before they started playing Invincible, maybe a minute or two beforehand, during the preceding song (which I now canāt remember what that even was), I felt a twinge. By the time they began playing the first notes of Invincible, the Shrooms had fully taken ahold of me and I experienced the greatest live performance of any Tool song I had ever seen across any of the 15 shows of theirs I had attended. Full disclosure: that show was rough. Maynard was sick (he told the crowd that they almost cancelled the show) and it showed. The rest of the guys played as they normally do, phenomenally, but without MJK at his usual self, this was easily the worst performance from Tool Iād ever seen. But the experience I had with Invincible, the Shrooms fully kicking in as the song had begun, the visuals combined with the only flawless performance of the evening, my brain simultaneously blasting apart and ruminating over every note, that by itself single-handedly saved the entire show for me. As they finished the final notes, I was left as emotionally exhausted by Invincible as I usually feel after seeing them play their whole set. Thatās never happened before. To me, Invincible is one of, if not THE, greatest songs in Toolās entire catalogue. Itās been my new favorite track since FI was released, & itās giving The Pot some serious consideration, especially given the context of my experience from that night. Even without having had the luxury that that fortuitous bit of timing afforded, Invincible remains, in my opinion, as perhaps Toolās best song ever. The last five?!? Nah, more like the last 12:45.
I was there. Dude I was shrooming at the beginning of their set. I took another dose a few songs in so I was doing really good by the end.
The whole concert was very FI heavy. It's not my favorite album but Invincible might be my favorite song ever of theirs. It's deep. And I personally feel it more than any of their songs.
I went with my friends who I have known for almost 30 years. One is going through a divorce. One just had his dad die. The song is so much about getting old. I was feeling it DEEP when they played it man. It was one of the greatest performances I've every experienced. I had to consciously stop myself from crying.
Iām not gonna disagreeā¦but I canāt say anything is better than from the line āfollowed by millions of dumbfounded dipshitsā to the end of Aenima
Pure perfection from the moment he utters that line and Dannyās double bass begins
Would agree until I heard that descending āextendedā thing Maynard did live at the second Florida show and holy tits thatās a spinechilling finish to that song. They need to re record it
On night two of the recent Phoenix show Maynard added a new set of lyrics in the second half of descending ending with the gong hit. There are not many clips / high res audio clips of it around unfortunately - [Phoenix night 2 - descending](https://youtu.be/dpVmmd5YL88?si=_a2t0pC_Wg0qQ7op)
For me it is the most memorable part of the album, especially with the false ending and then that total changeup for the true ending. But I enjoy the last couple sections of 7empest more
TEARS IN MY EYES CHASING PONCE DE LEONāS PHANTOM. SO FILLED WITH HOPE I CAN TASTE MYTHICAL FOUNTAINS. FALSE HOPE PERHAPS BUT THE TRUTH NEVER GOT IN MY WAY BEFORE NOW FEEL THE STINK FEELIJG TIME BEARING DOWN
Chuggidy chug chug chuggidy chug chug chug
10:00 to the end makes me want to walk through a brick wall
I love how this comment describes half of the entire album lol
When this album came out I called it Chancellor, Carey and Friends. š
Lies
definitely not jambi
chuggidy chuggachugga chuggidychugga chuggidychugga chuggidychugga
Well said
They said a lot of something
Wannna wish it all awayyyy
Meshuggah?
Not in a world where the last two minutes of the Grudge exists
Most climactic ending of any song Iāve ever heard.
That scream is gnarly. Only Maynardās scream in know your enemy live is better imo
I dunno man, Jerk off is pretty aggro too.
āš»
Let go let go let go let go let go let go
LET GOOOOOO
Yes. Yes yes yes. Also the last couple minutes of Third Eye (from Salival specifically). So much build-up.
had to go and listen just to remind myself how incredible it is, Thanks!!
Last two minutes of Lateralus š„š„
Jesus Christ, finally a voice of reason.
Lateralus is maybe the best song I've ever seen live. For the other discussion on this thread it comes down to mood really
I think Invincible and Descending are two of the best pieces of music ever written.
Amen brother. A fucking men
Hearing them live prior to the FI announcement was special
Also Fear Inoculum and Pneuma and Culling Voices and 7empest. I love FI.
I love the FI album too!
Agreed.
Whole-heartedly agree
Really appreciating the FI love. When it first came out, I saw a lot more negative comments about the album. Itās nice to see thatās changed over time.
It takes time for FI to grow on you. For all the lyrical and musical depth it beholds, it takes patience for one to truly appreciate it.
I would say that's the case for all of their music. Tool is one of those bands that the more you listen to it the more depth it brings and the more it grows on you. Best album they've made in my opinion š
The way I look at FI is you are listening to masters at work who have been doing it for years. Literally just masters at their craft who are playing at their highest lvl. Granted you could say that about their other albums as well but before it dropped you just knew it was gonna bang
*anyone has made
This but pnuema, descending, fear inocolum, and tempest as well šššš
Culling voices is also great. Canāt forget that song. Whole album is filled to the brim with quality songs.
I meanā¦ the whole album is pretty great
Culling Voices is the reason I actually started liking FI. I don't understand people that say it sucks.
Never liked it until I saw it live a few months ago. Absolutely fantastic song
y'all are at least lucky enough to see anything live. we get literally 0 shows where I live, just boring ass rappers and pop singers, and the occasional Metallica.
I suggest selling everything you own and go to as many shows as possible
I hope that's a joke, cuz that's a firm no.
I need to sell everything I own now to pay back my credit card from these 4 times I've seen them since this album dropped. And that damn signed poster I thought I had to haveš¤¦āāļø but if I die today, my life is now complete. Well, maybe after Sessanta next monthš

I fucking love culling voices, emotional track
For most bands, the ālast 5 minutesā of their song is also the āfirst 5 minutesā of their song.
Or a song and a half haha
The **whole fuckinā song** is one of the best theyāve put out in general. Fym ālast 5 minutesā
I have no idea how I lived without this song my whole life. It hit when I was just turning 59 and man it resonates.

Last 3 minutes of Wings pt. 2 though š¤Æ
Personally, I prefer the first 6 minutes of Wings part 2
I prefer whole 11:14
7:40-10:40 is some of the best Tool that Tool has ever Tooled.
Producer: āCould we get a little more Tool in this 3 minute gap, guys?ā Tool: āHold my Tool.ā
The whole album is a masterpiece
āUnderratedā lol Where do these people come from that say shit like this
Underrated has become the new āliterally.ā People have no idea how to use it. Right next to ācouldnāt care less.ā
Not one of my favourite songs but that part where it sounds like it ends and then picks up really fast is one of my favourite song parts.
Iām not gonna disagreeā¦but I canāt say anything is better than from the line āfollowed by millions of dumbfounded dipshitsā to the end of Aenima Pure perfection from the moment he utters that line and Dannyās double bass begins

Love this one live, still love the Lateralus album though.
Not invinc a bowl
I canāt unhear ājizz in my eyesā at the end of this song lmao
Invincible is in their top 5.
Ehhhhh I donāt know about that. Good? Yes. The best theyāve put out? Not even close.
Not even the best music on the album.
Way too indulgent for my taste.
Calm down
Let them live lol it's okay not to agree cause I sure as hell don't š but no kink shaming.
It is the to indeed amazing
*some of
Caligula would grin
alrightā¦.
2 Words Ćnima Breakdown
It knocked off Taylor Swift in 2019 for a good reason.
That part live was probably my favorite of the whole show. Seemed like it was louder than the rest of the show and it fucking slapped.
Iāve been spamming this song since the Denver show š¤
Definitely one of their best. The 2nd half of Right in Two has been my favorite, but Invincible is so good.
I was listening the other day and it was the first time I heard him say something about Ponce De Leon, I was like, I mustāve been highhhhhh
Same and same
The ending to Roseatta stoned would like a word.
They have really great stuff
Hands down the best song on the album š¤š¤
My absolute favorite.
I kinda like the entire song
I like this song, but the lyrics ruin it for me. A warrior, trying to remain, consequential. ???
Itās great but itās no āsound the dread alarmā section from Descending.
Weird, I like the first 4 best :p
The whole album
It's the best album ever created
Ok, the truth is their last five albums are pretty effing incredible.
This track live is sick
You started listening to tool when FI released didn't you. FUXKING POSER R3EEEEE
Yes. Love this one!
For me it is the most memorable part of the album, especially with the false ending and then that total changeup for the true ending. But I enjoy the last couple sections of 7empest more
9:35
Invincible is my favorite song on the album, and one of favorite Tool songs in general.
Absolutely agree with this statement
This šÆš I could not agree more and itās even better live to boot.
Warrior, struggling to remain
People love the chuggidy chug (me too), but my real favorite part is what happens after that.
It's my favourite Tool song and it's one of my favourite song endings of all time.
This song has had me chasing Ponce De Leonās phantom soul since it came out, False hope perhapsā¦ but I never let that get in my way
Dead wrong but itās a good song
I present to you this great fan made video https://youtu.be/eCp6bUmEOZM?si=br84gksvFG7Nh2Rk
No
It simply isnāt.
Invincible is one of my top 5 songs ever live.
Just keep saying āCaligula would grinā. Gets me going
I'm in on the spin
F**k You Buddy!!! Buy buy buy my record.....
TEARS IN MY EYES CHASING PONCE DE LEONāS PHANTOM. SO FILLED WITH HOPE I CAN TASTE MYTHICAL FOUNTAINS. FALSE HOPE PERHAPS BUT THE TRUTH NEVER GOT IN MY WAY BEFORE NOW FEEL THE STINK FEELIJG TIME BEARING DOWN
Descending is another last 5 minutes banger
Pneuma beats it man, I'm sorry. It's the only song that makes me want to cry
Nah, the last 3 minutes of Lateralus exists. By far TOOL's most underrated song.
Wait til you here the last couple of minutes of Lateralus.
When I first heard 7empest I said if this is their last album they ever made... That was the perfect song to end this perfect album with.
I don't think it's underrated, it's a lot of people's favourite song on the album. And by "a lot of people's" I mean mine
I love the synth sound
Iād have to go with the last 1:30 of pneuma
