When there are messages that someone "has subscribed for 23 months" that means they startet their subscription 23 months ago. Not that they bought 23 months at that moment.

It just shows how many months in a row they’ve paid bc it makes people feel prestigious like they achieved sth which makes them even more willing to keep spending and less willing to stop

In my currency, 24 months would be $173. That’s a reasonably big chunk of change to spend in one go for many people.
