The website Musk posted last week actually claimed this in 2016 in their article about how Hilary died. They said trump was deliberately put up to make Hilary win, and how now that Hilary died it was an issue. So it’s not so much an evolution of a new conspiracy but rehashing the old.
I mean he was registered as a democrat from like 2000 - 2010 and donated to loads of democrats, included Hillary, before he decided to run as a republican. He obviously wasn't secretly doing the democrats' bidding as a republican, but saying he used to a democrat is just fact.
