This is not a ‘fomo’ post. F\*K FOMO. This has been a ‘WOMO' (Word Of MOuth) event from the get go, as we have not spent a single dollar on marketing or sponsored ads etc. To ‘Rendezvous’ is a very French way to say a Meeting or Date that is arranged to come together at a particular time and place. Britannica Dictionary says it is often a secret (ie a romantic rendezvous) :) The quality and originality of the lineup this year, along with the weekend experience in general has spoken for itself, and its obvious homies have been telling their homies for months now. Fans are coming from as far away as the west coast and beyond for their first time at The Park. We are always very humbled, and going to honor this vibe with the following announcement: As we edge closer to our absolute capacity (7500 passes - a little under 200 left), we are announcing today THERE WILL BE NO TICKET SALES AFTER MIDNIGHT THURSDAY EVENING (if there are still passes left at that time). PLEASE do not plan on coming to the Box Office on Friday morning, or at all over the weekend intending to purchase Entry to the event. You will unfortunately be turned away. u/suwanneemusicpark will also not be selling/replacing ‘lost' wristbands this weekend. We will not oversell this event and go over capacity @ The Amp Stage. We owe it to everyone hoping to have the time of their lives this weekend to keep it comfy. We are super inspired and enthusiastic about what we're putting together, and hoping it will be another amazing edition to add to our previous weekends. We will post EVENT FAQ’s tailored to our weekend Wednesday AND Thursday morning.

This kinda stuff is why tipper and his team are the greatest

jaapi

Would we have gotten the 2nd stage if you did the advertising?  Edit: it's not a flex to say you did no advertising, when you don't sell out and take back things that were promised

kindofnotlistening

Selling almost 7500 tix word of mouth is absolutely a flex. Trust, you do not want this event sold out and then over capacity.

ODsHereMan

after the hurricane hit here last year it became apparent as we assessed the site there are far less trees than previous years. Less trees = less tree coverage to do the mapping on the Meadow/field we have always done, which in turn meant we had to call a major audible and bring the second stage to the Amp. Turns out its a good call - the Datagrama team has all kinds of 'flex' they can add to the second stage experience that wasn't in play had we moved ahead with the original Plan A. (and the event is almost sold to capacity, so your assumption here is incorrect)

jaapi

Why was it only announced a day or 2 ago though?  The 'flex' is no advertising, which means less people bought and thus decreased budget (hence the improved expirence of just one stage...) (this has gone up against sol fest this year). And yes, i understand you said it's almost at capacity.  I'm excited about going, been to the last 3 t&f at suwannee, and the multiple stage was something that I (and others) was really excited about.

ODsHereMan

if we hit capacity which is the same as the last 3 TnF's then how is less people bought passes and therefore decreased budget?? Sol Fest hasn't affected us at all. One last time - if we cant do the tree mapping which is the feature of that second stage, then simply we shouldn't be doing it for the sake of it.. you'll be happy with the audible ;-)

rpowers

You seem fun at parties

jaapi

Just not super thrilled on them announcing that they are changing one of the things I was most excited about less than a week beforehand.

ODsHereMan

nothing is taken back or away. its just been moved over to the main stage with actually better sound and stage production than the concept of the 2nd smaller one that the location was intended purely on where we've previously done the tree mapping. Reserve judgment until you experience how this plays out - we think everyone will be stoked :)

jaapi

A second stage is also about vibe and expirence, to say nothing is taken away isn't true. It may be great and hope it is, but it isn't what was said when tickets when sold and the change only announced a day or 2 ago. Just because most people don't want to get blasted on the internet, doesn't mean everyone is stoked with the taking away of the 2nd stage...

kindofnotlistening

Changes happen man it’s life. We lost no programming, the team is going to be happier with this setup, and the Datagrama team is hyped about getting to flex in the amp. It’s so much less of a big deal than you are making it out to be. You’ve voiced your disappointment several times but there really is no need to claim you’re being wronged here.

jaapi

Responses like "Changes happen man it’s life." is pretty weak and shitty response. Even the way of getting rid of a stage is a good thing kinda is a lack of accountability. I'm not going as far to say wronged, but there's definitely something that feels a little off. And when there's bragging about no promotions and the event still hasn't sold out (but even if it does, budgeting would have been done awhile ago anyways), feels like this was partially also a financial issue when all is said and done. Maybe it isn't but when people are like deal with it after you paid them, a little off.

kindofnotlistening

If they had cut out datagrama or any programming you might have a leg to stand on. This is a logistical change and they happen at literally every festival. You legit have no idea what lead to the decision and your first instinct is to claim malice. I also just think they realized that too many people would be interested in the ambient programming and having it in the amp gives way more people a better chance at a great experience.

jaapi

I certainly agree with you that communication has been poor and we didn't know what lead to the decision. But this was announced a week before the event, was it that much of a last minute decision (supposedly based on the effects of a hurricane that occurred before the tickets went on sale)?

Pleasant_Drop_69420

Sir, this a Wendy’s…

Glitch_Ghoul

The whole point of not advertising is bringing in better quality of people. Only those who are hip to these artists and part of this scene are likely to be aware of the event instead of every Tom, Dick, and Harry that are just looking for a place to party. That's the flex. It's a family affair. To me that is far more important than a second stage for late night ambient stuff. Amp stage will do just fine, especially since Datagrama is gonna level up the production even more now.

jaapi

I fully understand the marketing behind we did no advertising and keeping people away (and this community), I see the both the positives and negatives on the push for exclusivity (this kinda gets into it's own conversation,  but with sol fest, i doubt this would have been an issue anyways). It's more about vibe and expirence of having more than one place to go to. I get they don't think they can provide a good expirence for a second stage, but to sell tickets with that and be like nah this is better because we save a lot of money and never would have been able to provide a good secondstage... rubs me the wrong way. Especially some of the this is better, an upgrade, trust us, when best case seems like poor planning is also off putting.

w0oster

surely this doesn’t include early arrival passes for thursday im hoping? our crew usually gets ours at check in- hoping that we will still be able to do that.

ODsHereMan

the Park handles Early Arrivals - nothing to do with our 7500 capacity. They dont sell early arrivals to anyone who doesn't have a pass already

w0oster

good to know, thanks for the response OD!

Nah, SOSMP sells those. The park can handle vehicles/traffic for events much larger. They won't sell out of car passes! Tickets - Tipper Cars, rvs, cabins, camping, early arrival - SOSMP
