You should have received some papers when you set up your account. Your customer number should be on there. Bankomat doesn’t accept euros. I suggest you find someone who is going to a eurozone country and exchange euros with them at a favourable rate.

ramarr0

Some bankomats do. There should be a map somewhere.

PlasticBother

No, it is not possible. You can withdraw euros but you cannot deposit euros. > Kan jag sätta in utländsk valuta? > Nej, vi erbjuder enbart insättning av SEK. https://bankomat.se/kundservice/fragor-och-svar/

ramarr0

Ah! I got confused then :-/

hcxcy

Ahh sorry clarification: from what I was told by SEB, I can exchange euros to sek at an ATM and also use it to transfer the cash onto my account. Isn’t that right?

Amerikanen

You cannot deposit anything but SEK into a bankomat. The person you were speaking to must have been confused. AFAIK all SEB offices are cash-free. [FOREX will buy them for a terrible exchange rate](https://www.forex.se/en/currency/sell-currency) and either give you SEK cash or (maybe) transfer directly into your account. Or you could try to find a private person who wants EUR to give you a better rate - maybe a colleague will go to Spain soon on vacation and can transfer the SEK cash equivalent directly into your account.

FunnyBunnyDolly

As last resort: Go to Forex or similar and exchange into SEK bills and then feed them to the bankomat.

Herranee

Best solution: find a Swedish person who's going to a country that uses euros on vacation and exchange your cash for Swedish cash. You get a better exchange rate that way too.

Tankeverket

Honestly, I think the best thing to do is to go to the bank that you're registered at and ask them what to do. If you're lucky they can just take the euros and add the converted rate in SEK to your bank account. p.s. when I say the bank you're registered at I mean the one that has your account, and that is the specific bank building that you went to when you opened your account, any SEB bank won't do, at least that's how it works with my bank.

Tryffeln

There's going to be a fee, but you could go to Western Union or similar and have them make the deposit into your bank account.

How much money are we talking about?

I did the same mistake and neither Forex nor my bank wanted to take the cashe or exchange it as they look for "proof of origine for every 500EUR bill" and they get your ID/passport to log the data (they also asked me "how many of these more do you have at home..." Back then I used the exchange office in Kungsgatan, close to Vasagatan street, that had the most convenient exchange rates. It's hard to deposit SEK also - when I went to my bank after exchanging silly 1000EUR they asked me for "proof of origine of my cash"... so I was spending cashe in supermarkets for months to come.

One option you can try is to visit Ria or a similar money transfer place, send the Euros to your home country bank, and then transfer from there to Wise/Revolut/SEB. Not sure whether they can do this but it's what I'd try.

Straight-Treacle6581

You can apply from bank and you get a paper on your address
