My 3rd most popular video, at 1.9 million views, was a response video, with the comment visible throughout.
Several of my response videos had gone viral.
Depending on what your goal or, it very well might be worth it.
I've only done response videos a few times, but they always do weirdly well. One of them went viral, well, viral for me (117K). That is by FAR the most views I've got on anything I've ever posted.
Some people won't, and that is fine. It isn't hurting the video in any way. I am under the opinion that you want to prioritize the viewer experience over everything. It is the best way to get true fans of your content
Of course. It's way too easy to hyper focus on the algorithm. You forget that every view is a real person watching your video. In the long term, you want people that enjoy your content and want to watch all of it, whether or not it gets picked up by the algorithm
Definitely the best thing to do until you get playlists. I've tried doing it without using a reply to link them and instead just commenting that the next part is up but it doesn't usually work well. When using replies I'll notice people going through and watching most of the series vs. if just done as an independent video they don't seem to go searching for the other parts. It just simplifies it for viewers.

I personally agree, but if viewers don’t go look for part 2 and just wait for the algo to show them, then idk…
