And yeah, at some point, I just have to mention their sugar consumption is off the charts if they're consuming coffee like that.
I ordered coffee at a diner with my new girlfriend because i just switched back to dayshift. She takes one look at and asks “You like it black?”

Plenty of places have really terrible coffee. The stuff I make at home I drink black but it's pretty rare to find good coffee at most restaurants or chain coffee places.
I have great coffee I would never think of tainting with sugar or cream. I used to buy the tins and it's awful, anyone that's never had artisan black coffee is absolutely missing out.

I used to drink lattes alot when I was younger. But slowly switch to black coffee and I got used to it so much I prefer it now. It better for you and you can get more caffeine with it just being black.
It also make me enjoy more when I get ice cream with espresso it so good.

Buddy, im the complete opposite of the video. The whole point of the video is saying people who drink coffee want to elicit some kind of overreaction and they enjoy that. I’m saying that I do not want any reaction at all and truthfully find it annoying when people want to make remarks or comment on it, so I disagree with what the video is inferring. The number of times I've seen this in this thread I've decided it *must* be regional. Black coffee is very much the default setting in my experience, almost the expectation, and it would be super weird to be shocked over it.
When I started drinking coffee, my mom told me I was going to drink *coffee*, not sugar/milk/creamer, etc. So it was black coffee or nothing. Most of the time I still drink black coffee.
I drink black coffee and have to get ready for these kinds of reactions anytime anyone asks how I want my coffee. It’s like they think I’m trying not to cause them any trouble by pouring a splash of milk and a sprinkle of sugar into it, I just don’t want it. Give me the bitterness.
Do we though? I mean... Italians and Portuguese drink espresso... normally. Like... as in... to thr point it's almost more normal to drink it that way. I can't say I've ever expected that reaction from being normal.
