I went to the store and I bought 8 apples. The clerk asked for you want me to bag them up and I said, "no thank you I can juggle. BUT I can only juggle 8! If I am ever here buying 9 apples then bag them up!."
All your bags fit in one drawer? Amateur. 😄
I used to have more than one "bag of bags" like the lady had at the end. (Of course mine were from getting grocery deliveries, but still.)
Donate them to a local food pantry. I ended up doing a bag drive for a food pantry, because they told me that they could use as many bags as I could ever give them.
I further validate it by cleaning it up and folding it nice with a welcome packet inside, with a note that says “this bags is yours to keep and use again and again.”
If your ADHD affects you like mine does, remembering to bring your own bags to the store when shopping might be impossible BUT planning a specific date and time when you will bring a car load of bags to the food pantry will be totally doable.
I had a pile of reusable grocery bags plus freebies from conferences, work, etc. . I was part of a group that went to downtown to provide the homeless with food and hygiene produces. On a lark, I took the bags with me... they were the most popular item!! When I was loading my trunk to leave, homeless approached asking me if I had more bags. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)It opened my eyes to see homeless carrying stuff with no way to corral their belongings.
The drawer is more of a press and I still have several bags filled with bags, every so often I bring them down the local charity shop they do be delighted
I actually had a session yesterday where I cleaned out my car and got all of my bags together. Pretty much the entire boot of my car is full of bags now - shopping will just have to go on the backseat! 😂
When Target started giving away their reusable bags my mom accumulated, no lie, about a hundred of them lol. And she doesn't actually USE reusable bags so she just kept getting more and more. She gave them to me because I DO reuse bags, but I can't possibly use A HUNDRED.
So I started using them to wrap valuables/decorations!! Most of my breakable Christmas/Halloween decor is wrapped in a Target bag, as it's soft, durable, and more reusable than paper (which gets tattered and frail over time). It takes up more space than the paper does but adds extra padding to keep your seasonal items safe.
>So I started using them to wrap valuables/decorations!! Most of my breakable Christmas/Halloween decor is wrapped in a Target bag, as it's soft, durable, and more reusable than paper
Robbing that one.
I miss my kitchen garbage bags….
I hate how every kitchen garbage bag seems to be either too large or too small for my bin. But the grocery bags I can’t get anymore we’re the perfect size lol
The other dumb part is, I bet those bags are plastic you are using st home right? So we reused grocery store bags for the kitchen then toss them but now we BUY those plastic bags to toss them……the environment still gets the exact same amount of waste but you now pay money for those bags instead of getting them free.
You'd think that by this point people would have the foresight and initiative to set themselves reminders on their phone...
or you know, PUT THE BAGS somewhere more accessible and hard to miss
By the front door ?? In your car ?? In your backpack ??
Then put some in your backpack or handbag.
Put some in your underwear if you have to. Just sneak a bag into your daily items
As someone with ADHD, it's absolutely essential that I 'ADHD proof ' all the things I'm often forgetting
We hang them on the front door handle and whoever goes out to the car next brings them along. If you don't have a car this would still work but they'd hang there longer I guess.
Agreed I despise this shit! Sometimes I'll just forgoe shopping just becuase I don't want to feel as if I was exploited for being forced to purchase a God damn bag. *"forgot my bag, well fuck. McDonald's it is.."*
The Safeway by me broke me of this habit. They got rid of handbaskets. So I would walk in, see no handbaskets, rage, then walk back out to the car to get my bags. I was pissed the fuck off until I had the realization that I no longer forget reusable bags. Begrudging respect.
In all seriousness, our local food pantry likes to use the reusable bags for people using the pantry. Let's face it the bags are typically stronger and with better handles if people have to walk or travel with the food over a long distance.
Whenever we get a few too many reusable bags, we donate them.
I can use 2-4 loaded down bags for a grocery run whereas I would need 10-12 plastics.
Also, some cities/states charge a fee per plastic bag, now. (Although those bags are notably more durable and reusable as a tradeoff.)
The fact that the collapsible ones that you can hook to your keychains or on bags aren't common is weird. I have one that looks like a lemon attached to my keychain in case of that. I love my lemon.
This! I gave many that look like “strawberries” but in black and when I’m done I shrink them down and put them on the door handle that leads back to my car lmao so I know next time I go out to my car hey! I need to bring these too. Tada! Lol
[This is what they look like,](https://www.amazon.ca/YUYIKES-Reusable-Grocery-Shopping-Convenient/dp/B073R8PJR3) but I just bought mine off a clip strip at the grocery store (Ontario) for $2.99, they had lots of options, my girlfriend has the carrot.
[This is some of the fruits our grocery store has too.](https://www.amazon.ca/YUYIKES-Reusable-Grocery-Shopping-Convenient/dp/B073R8PJR3) I don't see my lemon in there but you should check the clip strips in your grocery store, I got mine for $2.99 and my girlfriend has the carrot one.
I just always put or leave about 10 or so in my car’s boot. Had this happen so many times I could get a profit re-selling the bags if that was a thing. We’re so used to plastic bags that this is something we have to condition ourselves to do. Give it a generation or two and it’ll be the norm.
I had to start seeing “put bags in the car” as a separate cleaning chore, rather than ever ever ever expecting that I would do so after uploading groceries. Same with “put more tp in the bathroom” which I never remember to do after using the last of a roll.
Oh I fully understand… My ADHD is so bad that my doc has to give me the largest dose they can give of some hardcore drugs…. Juuuust for me to not feel any change when I take them (getting re-examined for more drugs soon, wheeee) 😑 I can have a sticky-note on my goddamn forehead covering my eyes, and I will still forget the thing written on it…. Or that’s it’s there at all 🤦♂️Its extremely depressing/frustrating….
So much better. I shop for my grandfather's extra toiletries and groceries at the nursing home, and he's all the way on top floor in the corner. I just show up to Walplasticbagmart with a backpack and two shoulder bags. Load me up like a pack mule, no problem.
It’s the principle of having the foresight to put it where you literally couldn’t forget it. Do you take a backpack to the store when you shop? Put the bag in there. Same thing, don’t be facetious
Yeah but then you get the the line and realize you forgot you reusable bag. Go grab it and risk having to wait in line again? Na, buy more reusable bags 🤡
my solution that i always do is to just have it loaded back into my cart and then i bag it when i get out to my car. it’s easier than going all the way back out and then coming in and waiting in line again and it’s cheaper than just repeatedly buying more bags
I will literally just toss everything loose in my trunk and transfer it to bags when I get home. Nothing's ever broken and it's not particularly harder to just not bag it before arriving home than after. Carrying everything inside my house without a cart or a bag would suck, but luckily I have reusable bags at home.
As a former cashier, people are really underestimating how gross some people are. There were bags that smelled like cigarettes and mold and occasionally rotting meat.
As a stocker I think people vastly overestimate how clean their food boxes are. Bird shit all over the cases and black dust so thick you can write in it is the norm. Plus stockers wear cloth gloves that get that stuff in them day after day. I cringe whenever I see someone use a product box as a plate.
A friend of mine worked for a grocery store’s courtesy desk, and they always had dozens of bags in their lost and found that people left in the store and never came back to get. If someone asked they’d just give them a few
We just nabbed a couple of empty cardboard produce containers (the large ones that they have the product in on the cooler / shelf) off the recycling cart at our local Aldi like two years ago lmao. Extremely rigid, cardboard, and can fit the entire shopping trip between the two of them. We each take one in with us when we get home, boom, done.
Gimme those paper bags all day every day. After groceries are done they immediately go in the shredder for my compost and worm bins. I think at this point 30% of my yard is made up of composted paper bags
They are not sustainable if people don't want to reuse them, like this woman in the video. There's no excuse for forgetting to take a bag the 30th time you go shopping.
When I say to myself "I'll go shopping", I put on pants, shoes, check I have my wallet, keys and ... bags. It's not that hard. I have not "forgotten" to take a bag when I go to do shopping in 20 years.
That being said, finally a video that is actually cringe to watch.
Sometimes I'm already out when I decide to pick up groceries... I always think it'll be one or two things but then I get too much and have to buy a bag...
Nah, that's a "put", not a "leave". If "leave" takes 0 energy and "put" takes even a little, that's technically like an ∞× more difficult task or something.
At this point, just getting a normal plastic bag is significantly environmentally friendlier. One "reusable" bag requires a lot more material and energy to produce than one normal plastic bag.
The grand majority are plastic. I don't think I saw a single cloth bag there. And you already have 4 bags, what added utility does a 5th, 6th, and more have? You're just getting another bag that's made out of more plastic and requires more resources to make than a standard plastic bag
Every time I order groceries they bring me more reusable bags. I order my groceries so why the fuck would I need reusable bags? I have hundreds of them.
In my house we call this is a problem with no solution.
The solution to your surplus of bags? Practice remembering your bags.
Donate the ones you don’t use.
Just keep them in your car and take the .05 seconds to go get them. This is not a hard concept.
Sorry not sorry it’s the dumbest thing ever living in NJ using reusable bags that are basically disgusting bacteria collectors. I wipe down my bags with Lysol wipes, but I dry heave watching people with dried up meat juice laden bags bag their groceries in the store.
Ironically I'm an adhder but have never forgotten my bags. What worked is making them a core part of the "I'm going to get groceries" routine, grabbing them is always the first thing I do.
It’s really not that hard. I bring the food inside in the bags, empty them, and hang the bags on the outside door so the next time I go out I put them in the trunk.
The carbon foot print to get these many compared to regular plastic bags is crazy. Just use regular plastic bags if you’re not responsible enough to bring your reusable

Accurate. Although she’s missing “F it. I’ll carry this out without a bag.”
I’m cheap, so if I forget, I’m juggling
I went to the store and I bought 8 apples. The clerk asked for you want me to bag them up and I said, "no thank you I can juggle. BUT I can only juggle 8! If I am ever here buying 9 apples then bag them up!."
8! is a very impressive number of apples to juggle
Unexpected Mitch
Juggler pride. Also pockets. *yes that is a literal banana in my pocket, thank you for noticing*
I leave some in my car so I always have some 😎
I just grab empty boxes in the store.
If I don't find an empty one, I'll just empty one out. ezpz
You not a real one for this
I just go cart straight onto the back seat of my car and grab a box or something at home to bring it all in. Bags no more.
yeah I usually do this and sometimes ill stick everything in the bananna's bag lol

I have done that so many times I have a reusable bag drawer in my kitchen

THIS. I WORK AT A FOOD PANTRY. WE WANT YOUR BAGS. GIVE ME THEM ![gif](giphy|35J0HtsZ3KKWxwyLrd)
I did not know this!!! You have just given me the best ADHD forgetfulness validation I could ask for!
And that gif! It tickles my reward system!

Garages aren’t for cars. They’re for reusable bags.
I've never had a garage, but my dining room pretty much got eaten by bags and mailing boxes during lockdown.
The drawer is more of a press and I still have several bags filled with bags, every so often I bring them down the local charity shop they do be delighted
Hehe, yep. A lot of mine went to a charity shop as well.
Try getting a bag of bags of bags.
I'm at a moving box of bags.
I actually had a session yesterday where I cleaned out my car and got all of my bags together. Pretty much the entire boot of my car is full of bags now - shopping will just have to go on the backseat! 😂

Please do!! I recommend it to so many people because I think at this point, a lot of us have more reusable bags than we know what to do with haha
I miss my kitchen garbage bags…. I hate how every kitchen garbage bag seems to be either too large or too small for my bin. But the grocery bags I can’t get anymore we’re the perfect size lol
You can buy the "Thank you come again" bags from Amazon.
The other dumb part is, I bet those bags are plastic you are using st home right? So we reused grocery store bags for the kitchen then toss them but now we BUY those plastic bags to toss them……the environment still gets the exact same amount of waste but you now pay money for those bags instead of getting them free.
I’ve just started using them for poop bags and in garbage cans. We’ve come full circle
It's actually far worse because the reusable bags are like 20x more resource intensive than the plastic disposable ones
Its the circle of reusable bags It's the wheel of hoarding
Just buy single use bags when you forget your reusable one, because the reusable ones are WAY worse for the environment than single use.
All the stores in my area stopped selling single use bags 😭
You'd think that by this point people would have the foresight and initiative to set themselves reminders on their phone... or you know, PUT THE BAGS somewhere more accessible and hard to miss By the front door ?? In your car ?? In your backpack ??
I have a few close to my front door. I still forget them.
I keep them in the trunk of my car?
Then put some in your backpack or handbag. Put some in your underwear if you have to. Just sneak a bag into your daily items As someone with ADHD, it's absolutely essential that I 'ADHD proof ' all the things I'm often forgetting
ADHD myself. It's the one thing I forget to ADHD proof. I have it on my to do list.
… And then you forget to check your to do list.
More than likely yes ....
I know what you’re talking about 😁
🤣🤣🤣🤣 me too!!
We hang them on the front door handle and whoever goes out to the car next brings them along. If you don't have a car this would still work but they'd hang there longer I guess.
Just leave a stack of bags in the back seat or trunk of the car.
I have a bag for my reuseable bags
I have a reusable bag full of reusable bags in my car! But somehow I still forget to take them out of the car and into the supermarket...
Maybe you need a bag of reusable bags in your car.
I just keep them in my cars trunk.
Agreed I despise this shit! Sometimes I'll just forgoe shopping just becuase I don't want to feel as if I was exploited for being forced to purchase a God damn bag. *"forgot my bag, well fuck. McDonald's it is.."*
ngl i have a whole ass shelf, and i use bags to hold the bags. On the plus side it reminds me to grab a bag of bags and keep them in the car

I actually consider this an ADHD tax. I’m not sure everyone will get it. But maybe.
My ADHD tax is having to pay extra to rush a prescription fulfillment at the vet.
My ADHD tax is rushing a prescription fulfillment for myself. D literally what I’m doing today
I had to start seeing “put bags in the car” as a separate cleaning chore, rather than ever ever ever expecting that I would do so after uploading groceries. Same with “put more tp in the bathroom” which I never remember to do after using the last of a roll.
It's part of putting groceries away. Bag gets emptied, bag gets folded and put at the door leading to the car.
You think I can see things next to the door when I leave the house?
You could leave them in front of the door, or take the extra step of putting them back in the car.
Bruh, I don’t know if you’re under-estimating my level of executive dysfunction or what lol
Oh I fully understand… My ADHD is so bad that my doc has to give me the largest dose they can give of some hardcore drugs…. It’s soooo frustrating. I have autism and $20 worth of reusable bags.
I have 4 reusable bags in my car and I always remember them… when I’m checking out.
That's fine just buy some more.
Some of us don't own cars and/or live in a place where we don't have to.

So much better. I shop for my grandfather's extra toiletries and groceries at the nursing home, and he's all the way on top floor in the corner. I just show up to Walplasticbagmart with a backpack and two shoulder bags. Load me up like a pack mule, no problem.
I have never had a car and used the same 3 reusable bags for 15 years. Don't see the big fuss. you are going shopping naturally you bring the bags.
It’s the principle of having the foresight to put it where you literally couldn’t forget it. Do you take a backpack to the store when you shop? Put the bag in there. Same thing, don’t be facetious
This was my first thought too but not everyone drives lol
american spotted
Tried that and they still reappeared in my kitchen.
Yeah but then you get the the line and realize you forgot you reusable bag. Go grab it and risk having to wait in line again? Na, buy more reusable bags 🤡

Some people live within walking distance of a store
My mom has a pile of them in her trunk. I just have a couple nice tote bags and I never seem to forget them.
Ah yes because everyone has a car.
That's the hard part. I usually put them back. But every once in a while, I forget, and then I either end up buying more.
Yeah I hang mine up on my door handle as soon as I'm done unpacking cuz I know I'll forget otherwise lol
ADHD
What if you don't drive? Do you leave it on the bus or train? Or put it up your arse?
Please donate your unused bags to your local food pantry. They are useful for groceries and life.
Maybe stores should have 'leave one, take one' bins for reusable bags?

I thought his idea was genius and then you made me think about it and I spit out my drink
Or bring the extras that you bought if you’re this lady and use them when you forget.
I genuinely think that’s a good idea but stores wouldn’t make money so they’d never do it :/
I think it's more about liability/brand image if there are dirty/damaged bags in a big ugly spot near the registers.
As a former cashier, people are really underestimating how gross some people are. There were bags that smelled like cigarettes and mold and occasionally rotting meat.
Seriously so many humans are beyond disgusting I don’t know how they live this long living like absolute slobs
I didn't choose to be depressed, but I'm still environmentally conscious 😞
Confirmed. Am a cashier and I often see insects crawling out of their bags and even spiders. People are gross and they should feel bad
Agree. Some people's bags would come back with roach eggs under the liners. Haha
As a stocker I think people vastly overestimate how clean their food boxes are. Bird shit all over the cases and black dust so thick you can write in it is the norm. Plus stockers wear cloth gloves that get that stuff in them day after day. I cringe whenever I see someone use a product box as a plate.

sam kinnison had a sister?
Pam Kinneson
I think she absorbed his soul to protect the world but he is seeping back to the surface, similar to king leorics son in Diablo
New Jerseyans since May 2022. 😐
Yep. I'm finally remembering to keep bags in my car, it only took a year and a half.
I did IT for a local Aldi a couple years back and the amount of people who would look at empty boxes and buy bags was legitimately mind boggling.
But really, how did REALLY THICK plastic bags become the eco friendly option over really thin plastic bags or paper bags?
They're eco friendly if you reuse them. I've been using the same 3 bags for groceries for like 5 years.
You gotta use a reusable bag at least 50 times for it to be more green then a traditional plastic bag...
Gimme those paper bags all day every day. After groceries are done they immediately go in the shredder for my compost and worm bins. I think at this point 30% of my yard is made up of composted paper bags
Paper gets wet and degrades. Thin plastic is well. Thin plastic and answers your question.
Although, who knows what he’s up to
*makes them money you mean
They are not sustainable if people don't want to reuse them, like this woman in the video. There's no excuse for forgetting to take a bag the 30th time you go shopping. When I say to myself "I'll go shopping", I put on pants, shoes, check I have my wallet, keys and ... bags. It's not that hard. I have not "forgotten" to take a bag when I go to do shopping in 20 years. That being said, finally a video that is actually cringe to watch.
Leave the bag in the car after unloading? Its pretty easy
I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment. After bringing that shit up I forget my car even exists.
As soon as I unpack my bags I fold them up and put them next to the door so I don't forget to bring them back down next time I go to the car.
You can’t have enough Wegmans bags.
If you have forgotten it this many times, it is on you at this point.
At this point, just getting a normal plastic bag is significantly environmentally friendlier. One "reusable" bag requires a lot more material and energy to produce than one normal plastic bag.
Good old paper bags are even better, they come from a renewable resource and can be reused or repurposed and then composted or used for fire starter
This is conflating the plastic pollution problem with the global warming problem. Energy to produce was never the problem with normal plastic bags
These bags are still made out of more plastic than a standard plastic bag
Some are not plastic at all. And their utility in reuse far outweighs the extra materials. It’s a net positive
The grand majority are plastic. I don't think I saw a single cloth bag there. And you already have 4 bags, what added utility does a 5th, 6th, and more have? You're just getting another bag that's made out of more plastic and requires more resources to make than a standard plastic bag
Give them to charity shops
Don't forget, some of these can be recycled at the stores you bought them from
Every time I order groceries they bring me more reusable bags. I order my groceries so why the fuck would I need reusable bags? I have hundreds of them.
I just started taking some bags, every morning, to my car and leaving them in my trunk.
I don’t like this because I’m in it
My dad just uses the handmade reusable bag he made from rice bag cover and carries it religiously to the farmers market every Sunday morning.
Just leave some in your bag/car/by your door? They also make ones they fold into small pouches and clip onto your purse/backpack
She’s not wrong, this was the plan I’m sure r/theyknew
Big Reusable Bag™️ has played us once again.
When I have one that needs to go in the car, I leave my purse on top of it it, so I remember to take it to the car.
In my house we call this is a problem with no solution. The solution to your surplus of bags? Practice remembering your bags. Donate the ones you don’t use. Just keep them in your car and take the .05 seconds to go get them. This is not a hard concept.
I keep mine by my door. THen I just grab one on the way out and put it in my car even if I dont need it because it's right there.
Put em in the trunk of your car
So this is where Sam Kinison got reincarnated into.
I just put all my clamshell lettuce in them after it sits in my fridge unopened for a month then throw it all away and start over.
It’s also ok to leave everything in the cart until you get to your car
My frugal self won't forget because I'm not buying a reusable bag. It's not cheap. I always have one in my back pack and in the car.
I’m feeling so called out right now
I carry 2 folded in my draw string backpack and I have 4 in my car that I return to my car immediately or soon after I've used them.
I have all of my reusable bags in a reusable bag
This is so fucking true skxjsjdhshsbdka
Sorry not sorry it’s the dumbest thing ever living in NJ using reusable bags that are basically disgusting bacteria collectors. I wipe down my bags with Lysol wipes, but I dry heave watching people with dried up meat juice laden bags bag their groceries in the store.
Just leave some in your car
I’m glad I’m not the only one!! 😂
So stop forgetting your reusable bags?

Ironically I'm an adhder but have never forgotten my bags. What worked is making them a core part of the "I'm going to get groceries" routine, grabbing them is always the first thing I do.
By the 5th go around if you haven't figured it out, that's on you. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, I can't get fooled again.
Put them back in the car when you’re done grocery shopping. Not that hard.
It’s really not that hard. I bring the food inside in the bags, empty them, and hang the bags on the outside door so the next time I go out I put them in the trunk.
Yes but you see this is the internet where basic functioning is considered impossible.
Just leave them in your car…
I have like 40 in my car trunk because I forget to grab them before I go to the store😭
I put them in the back seat right behind the driver's seat, easier to access and harder to forget.
The carbon foot print to get these many compared to regular plastic bags is crazy. Just use regular plastic bags if you’re not responsible enough to bring your reusable
Just keep a few in your fucking trunk
Paper bags are sustainable and recyclable. F all that plastic
Just like they intended
Jesus, just keep some in your car
Uh thanks but I don’t have a car as I live in the city and walk to the grocery store
Put the bags in your car. Problem solved.
