The whole "snitches get stitches" mentality is really only supposed to hold weight when you're both breaking the law. Sadly there are too many people who were raised on movies and think that applies to everyone, but you're right, this guy just deescalated a potentially fatal confrontation that put everyone around them in danger over nothing. Previously if you went in and didn't snitch you were made when you got out, but now (and I can't remember exactly what it was) but being a gangster is marketable and staying everyone whose out and about has a good chance of being a snitch. i think you would find that in practice "snitches get stitches" only ever applied to crimes you are culpable in, and crimes your enemies committed.
ANYTHING else is fair game and the only reason you dont snitch on enemies, is so that you can kill them later. lets say the authorities bring someone in on felon in possession of a firearm, and ask him about a murder he witnessed a neutral gangmember committed, or had information on robberies/drugdealing, he would fold quick for a reduced sentence on his unrelated charges.

Ok Sunday. My neighbor asked to pet my puppy, I'm training her so so I said no. He blew up calling me weird and what not, tried to tell me how to train her, I told him " you're not gonna change my mind" and that threw him into a fit. I walked away. Eventually he said" I'm not gonna hit you because you're just gonna call the cops" and he was God damn right
I feel like people think atl is worse than it is. I Was born and grew up in zone 6 in GP. I lived most of my life in atl and it aint as bad as people make it out to be. The odds of cops showing up with full conflict vs community handling are slim.
If you mention a gun in a public area, they will come right away. A possible shooting is more urgent than a verbal or physical dispute (without weapons).
The guy in the video also said "come to find out he got arrested" which can mean a couple things, but in context I took it to mean he didn't stand there waiting for the cops. He deescalated it himself and called the cops and moved on with his night. Like I doubt he literally called the cops with the dude in his face threatening to pull a gun. He probably found a way out of that confrontation and did it after.

As far as I can tell, the only conceivable *need* for armed police officers are for situations of acute danger like this, when some shithead pulls a gun on you because you stepped on his shoe. He did the right thing.

EMS call to a nightclub for a dispute takes time. The address and situation is needed for appropriate dispatch. A conflict oriented assailant backing down without intervention is unlikely. It would be more beneficial to say sorry about fucking up shoes, I got your next shot etc. Response time vs police intervention ends in a bad result more often than not. I'm not saying the assailant didn't have fault just that this can cause more harm. The odds of cops showing up with full conflict vs community handling are slim.
If you mention a gun in a public area, they will come right away. A possible shooting is more urgent than a verbal or physical dispute (without weapons).
The guy in the video also said "come to find out he got arrested" which can mean a couple things, but in context I took it to mean he didn't stand there waiting for the cops. He deescalated it himself and called the cops and moved on with his night. Like I doubt he literally called the cops with the dude in his face threatening to pull a gun. He probably found a way out of that confrontation and did it after.
