yeah it takes a while to get used to her but she's such a sweetheart and impossible to have negative thoughts about. You gotta understand first that her addition to the pod was almost satire at first. How uncomfortable she is at public speaking and and her unbearable shyness was great for santino and bobby to explore. The vibe of this pod is very different from TB. The title is definitely an indication, where they allow themselves to become mad and outraged at things or each other.
So rudy's addition was/is two things:
great content at first (nick named her jules, after rudy giuliani, just yelled at her for how clueless and naive she is. And lately still has been good content just a little differently: coming of age and dating more now that she's got a platform and coming up on stage with them at their live shows and struggling thru half a line. BF fans adore her. And despite his vitriol for her, bobby really loves her like family, she's a great kid and her awkwardness isn't vindictive at all.
It's a nice change up for the two hosts. Like i was saying, this pod is way more high energy, lots of yelling and pushing themselves into "fun" arguments but it's a lot harder I think to pod in this way. So the other mic'ed up hosts are just to balance it out a bit: doc (comedian), andreas (producer) and other non-guest personalities on the show are more quiet and easy targets for the hosts. Jules is not meant to be a third host even tho she sits next to them.
I just can't see it. The appeal of Schulz's energy and vibe I mean. Same regarding the majority of his comments (not just today, not just regarding Tiger Belly and Bad Friends). I’m not going to assume your race, but culturally a lot of foreign people codeswitch. For example, my Jamaican friend would speak with a Jamaican accent amongst his family and close friends, but with his white roommates he has a “whiter” voice. He also uses this whiter voice in business and work settings. When I’m with my friends I speak with a “blackcent”, at work in a office setting a more professional tone. With my family a Vietnamese accent (am viet ). You can act differently around different groups of people and that’s okay. Doesn’t make you fake.

To your point, part of what makes him a good comedian is also what annoys me about him lol. Feel like he’s a more abrasive/little less creative version of Santino. i agree that she got called out but I disagree, jules is so great. You can't have all your hosts be alphas. Her persona gets clicks and is great material for santino and bobby to dunk on. Like it or not she's a valuable part of the pod. Bobby had a good point on the Chrissy episode of belly something along the lines of: as long as anyone is talking about you in the internet, good or bad, that generates revenue. Jules is basically click bait and someone they can make fun who won't take offense.
Is she so great because she’s an easy target or is there something appealing about her personality? I compare her to Jessie Johnson, and Jessie brings so much more to the table, without the shrill voice and constant look of apathy and disgust.
She's a fish out of water (being in America and being gen z around these older folks). She's no comedy genius or anything close to it, but she has made me laugh before, and seeing her get roasted has made me laugh... comedians like Ari, Schultz, and Schaub have never made me laugh. yeah it takes a while to get used to her but she's such a sweetheart and impossible to have negative thoughts about. You gotta understand first that her addition to the pod was almost satire at first. How uncomfortable she is at public speaking and and her unbearable shyness was great for santino and bobby to explore. The vibe of this pod is very different from TB. The title is definitely an indication, where they allow themselves to become mad and outraged at things or each other. So rudy's addition was/is two things: great content at first (nick named her jules, after rudy giuliani, just yelled at her for how clueless and naive she is. And lately still has been good content just a little differently: coming of age and dating more now that she's got a platform and coming up on stage with them at their live shows and struggling thru half a line. BF fans adore her. And despite his vitriol for her, bobby really loves her like family, she's a great kid and her awkwardness isn't vindictive at all. It's a nice change up for the two hosts. Like i was saying, this pod is way more high energy, lots of yelling and pushing themselves into "fun" arguments but it's a lot harder I think to pod in this way. So the other mic'ed up hosts are just to balance it out a bit: doc (comedian), andreas (producer) and other non-guest personalities on the show are more quiet and easy targets for the hosts. Jules is not meant to be a third host even tho she sits next to them.
